Facing the consequences
The battle was over. MCU Peter was exhausted, battered, and ready to collapse, but at least his city wasn’t in flames anymore. Spectacular Peter had fought by his side the whole time, holding his own against some of the worst villains the MCU had to offer. Honestly? The guy was impressive.
But now, it was time to drop him back home.
MCU Peter tapped his watch, opening a portal. “Alright, home sweet home. I’ll drop you off, you can recover, and I’ll—” he paused, narrowing his eyes at Spectacular Peter’s pale face. “…Why do you look like you’re about to throw up?”
Spectacular Peter swallowed hard. “I, uh… might’ve forgotten something important.”
MCU Peter frowned. “What?”
Before Spectacular Peter could answer, they stepped through the portal… and walked directly into an intervention.
The entire table from earlier—Flash, Liz, Gwen, Harry, MJ, Mark, Sally, Rand, Glory, and Kenny—was waiting for them. Every single one of them stood in the middle of Peter’s living room, looking pissed, shocked, or downright betrayed.
"Ah," MCU Peter says, scanning the room. "Okay, that’s why"
Spectacular Peter groans. "Guys, I can explain—"
"Oh, we KNOW you can explain," MJ interrupts, arms crossed. "And you WILL."
"In detail," Mark adds. "Without conveniently ‘forgetting’ anything."
"With full color commentary," Sally chimes in, smirking. "Especially the part where you were apparently Spider-Man this whole time."
Harry steps forward, arms crossed. "You ran off with some guy, into a strange portal. In front of all of us. We SAW it happen. So no, you don’t get to ‘I can explain’ us, dude. Start talking."
MCU Peter claps his hands together. "Okay, so first of all—hi, everyone. Nice to see you again. Love the murderous glares. Super fun. Second—before you all take turns verbally murdering this Peter, I just wanna remind you that I am ALSO a Peter. And I can confirm, this whole superhero double-life thing? Not as easy as it looks."
Rand narrows his eyes. "And you are?"
"Oh, right! Manners! My bad. I’m Peter Parker, but from another universe, and your Peter and I are basically Spider-Bros. So, when my world was getting, y’know, utterly WRECKED by villains who shouldn’t be there, I did the totally reasonable thing and grabbed YOUR Peter to come help me out. And—spoiler alert—he kicked ass. Thanks for that by the way.”
There’s a long silence before Kenny, wide-eyed, blurts out, "MULTIVERSE?!"
MCU Peter shrugs. "Yup. Totally real. And honestly, it’s kinda a mess, but what isn’t these days?"
Gwen, still in shock, mutters, "So when you left with him… it wasn’t just, like, some random emergency. You actually went to a different universe?"
Spectacular Peter sighs. "Yeah. And, uh… sorry for not saying goodbye?"
MJ pinches the bridge of her nose. "So let me get this straight. You—somehow—are also Peter Parker, but from another universe, and you just… showed up, revealed our Peter’s secret to everyone, and then dragged him off to another dimension?"
"I mean, I wouldn’t say ‘dragged.’ More like, strongly encouraged. Also, the identity reveal thing? NOT my fault. How was I supposed to know this universe had the worst timing in the world?"
Sally snorts. "That does sound like Peter’s luck."
Harry shakes his head. "I just… Peter, why didn’t you TELL me?"
Spectacular Peter runs a hand through his hair. "Dude. Come on. Would you have believed me?"
Harry opens his mouth, then closes it. "Okay, fair point."
MCU Peter groans dramatically. "Okay, see, this is why I didn’t do a quiet drop-off. I KNEW you guys would be like this. Look, your Peter is fine, I’m fine, and my world is—well, still standing, so I’d say mission accomplished. Now, if you wanna freak out, can you at least aim some of that energy at the bad guys? Y’know, the ones who were ACTUALLY causing problems?"
Glory crosses her arms. "We have a LOT of questions."
MCU Peter smirks. "I bet you do. And just so you know, I’m here for moral support. But mostly? I’m here for the drama."
