"You bitch," Natalia grits out, teeth clenched as Elektra's sai slips free from her guts. They're both on the hunt for a rogue agent and Natalia had gotten too close.
You always get too close, Black Rose chides her in her mind.
She should've picked her off with a long distance rifle, but it seems like such a waste to destroy someone so beautiful. So Natalia tries her best to keep fighting, even though the blood loss is making her feel faint. She tries to use her garrot, but Elektra stops it with her sai.
Natalia grudgingly admits to herself that Elektra is better. Slightly.
They fight and fight until black spots creep into the edges of Natalia's vision, then everything goes dark.

Natalia wakes on the ground, her abdomen wrapped tight with red fabric. She stares up at the sky, thinking of Elektra. Her strength and her grace. The dark curl of her hair and the wild look in her eyes.
She needs to see her again. Even if it's at the end of her blade.
