Stephen had been clinging to Kaecilius all day.
Not that Kaecilius was complaining.
His Omega was always affectionate, but today he was relentless. Every time Kaecilius so much as shifted, Stephen was there pressing close, touching him, nuzzling into his scent gland with these soft, needy sighs. His scent was thick with want, all warm spice and honey, curling through the air like a promise.
Kaecilius knew what it meant. Stephen’ heat was close, probably just a day or two away, and his instincts were screaming for comfort.
Right now, though, Stephen was playing it cool. Well, as cool as Stephen ever played anything.
“You’re staring,” Stephen murmured, his voice low and teasing. He was sprawled across Kaecilius’s lap on the couch, his fingers tracing slow, lazy patterns over Kaecilius’s chest. His lips curled into a smirk. “Not that I mind the attention, big guy.”
Kaecilius huffed, sliding a hand up Stephen’ back, fingers pressing firmly between his shoulder blades. “You smell different.”
Stephen shivered, tilting his head, baring his throat in an unconscious show of trust. “Yeah?” he hummed, eyes fluttering shut as Kaecilius leaned in, nosing along his jaw. “How do I smell?”
Kaecilius inhaled deeply, letting his scent settle in his chest. “Like you need me,” he murmured against Stephen’ skin, his voice rough, possessive. “Like you’re mine.”
Stephen melted, pressing closer, a pleased little hum escaping him. “That’s because I am yours.” He tilted his head further, giving Kaecilius more access, fingers curling in the fabric of Kaecilius’s shirt. “And I do need you.”
Kaecilius growled softly, pleased, and pulled Stephen fully into his lap, wrapping strong arms around his waist. Stephen let out a breathless laugh, looping his arms around Kaecilius’s neck, their noses brushing.
“You’re being ridiculously sweet right now,” Stephen teased, but his voice was soft, affectionate.
Kaecilius just raised an eyebrow. “And you’re being needy.”
Stephen huffed, pretending to be offended. “Uh, rude. I am a perfectly independent Omega who just happens to crave your touch constantly.”
Kaecilius smirked. “Exactly.”
Before Stephen could fire back, Kaecilius kissed him slow and deep, pouring every ounce of love and possession into it. Stephen gasped softly against his lips, then melted, kissing him back just as eagerly.
His fingers tangled in Kaecilius’s hair, pulling him closer, as if they could never be close enough. Kaecilius growled low in his throat, one hand gripping Stephen’ waist while the other slid up his back, fingertips teasing along the sensitive skin of his nape.
Stephen shivered violently, whining into Kaecilius’s mouth. “God, you’re so unfair.”
Kaecilius chuckled, pressing a series of kisses down Stephen’ jaw, along his throat, stopping just above his scent gland. “You like it.”
“Yeah,” Stephen breathed, head falling back, letting Kaecilius scent him properly, rubbing their smells together until there was no question that he belonged to Kaecilius. “I do.”
Kaecilius nipped lightly at his throat before pulling back just enough to meet Stephen’ gaze. His hands tightened around his Omega’s waist. “I’ve got you,” he murmured, voice thick with devotion.
Stephen exhaled shakily, eyes shining. “I know.”
Kaecilius pulled him into another kiss, soft and lingering, as if he could kiss away every ounce of doubt or anxiety in Stephen’ mind. And judging by the way Stephen melted against him, completely safe, completely his, it was working.
And Kaecilius would never get tired of that.
