Chapter 1

The front gates of Piltover High loomed ahead, a mix of polished steel and ivy-covered brick that perfectly mirrored the city’s balance of innovation and tradition. You adjusted your backpack, taking in the buzz of students chatting in clusters, the occasional skateboard zipping by, and a rowdy cheer from the nearby soccer field.

This was it: your first day in a new school.

“Hey, you lost?” A voice broke through the noise.

You turned to see a tall guy with dark brown hair that fell slightly into his golden-yellow eyes. His tan skin seemed to glow under the midday sun, and he wore the Piltover High varsity jacket with “Jayce” embroidered on the chest.

“Uh, yeah,” you admitted. “New here.”

“Thought so. I know most people around here,” Jayce said confidently. “You’ll want to head to the main office—straight down the hall and to the left.”

“Thanks,” you said, trying to match his energy.

“Catch you later,” Jayce said with a wink before jogging off toward the gym.

Inside, the school felt enormous. Your schedule read like a labyrinth of room numbers, and you quickly realized getting lost was inevitable. As you tried to make sense of the map in your hand, a sharp voice cut through the din.

“You’re blocking the hallway.”

A girl with long blue braids that shimmered under the fluorescent lights stood in front of you, flanked by a lanky boy with a head of wild curls and goggles perched on his forehead.

“Ignore her,” the boy said with a chuckle. “She’s all bark.”

“Shut it, Ekko,” the girl—Jinx, according to the ID clipped to her jacket—snapped.

“I’m Y/N,” you offered, unsure whether to smile or run.

“Fresh meat,” Jinx said with a wicked grin. “Let’s see how long you last.”

Before you could respond, the bell rang.

“You’ll survive,” Ekko said with a wink, steering Jinx toward the stairwell.

The day continued in a blur of introductions. Viktor, the quiet genius in the back of chemistry class, offered you a curt but polite nod when the teacher paired you up. Mel, the student council president, introduced herself with the kind of charisma that could only come from someone who owned the room.

But it wasn’t until lunch that you truly felt the whirlwind of Piltover High life. Balancing your tray, you scanned the cafeteria for a place to sit.

“Over here!”

You spotted Jayce waving you over to his table, where Caitlyn and Vi were seated. Caitlyn, composed and impeccably dressed, looked at you with a curious but friendly gaze. Vi, in contrast, had her boots propped on the bench and a defiant smirk.

“New kid,” Jayce announced. “This is Cait, and that’s Vi.”

Do you want to focus on Y/N’s interactions with Jinx and Ekko next, or continue exploring the group dynamic with Caitlyn, Vi, and Jayce?
