On the way
The doctor's appointment went smoothly, however, the further they got into the appointment, the more concerned the doctor seemed to get. Mia came into the office with bandages around her arms, legs, and neck. She was underweight and there barely any body fat on her which indicated some concerns with her diet. Dr. Filo was curious about anemia, allergies, and other things along those lines that couldn't be seen on the surface, so she sent away for a blood test to the hospital lab. While they waited on the test, dr. Filo asked Mia questions about her medical history, her family's medical history, her recent activities since moving to the village.
From what Dr. Filo could tell, Mis has lived a fairly normal life up until her parents passed away and had to live with her aunt in a neighboring village with her older brother and sister. Mia didn't go into too much detail, so the doctor decided to also run a test to see if she had any symptoms related to the plague from the same village as her parents died in. She sent that test away with the blood test she ordered for Mia as well, it didn't take too long for the results to come back.
Once Dr. Filo got all of her test results back, she looked them over and paused. "Uh, well, this is a little concerning," she said with a frown on her face.
"What is it, doctor?" Hinata asked curiously.
The doctor looked up from her clipboard to look both girls in the eyes. "Mia, according to the blood test we did on you to determine your health, seems to have revealed some news," Dr. Flo started. She took in a deep breath as she held her clipboard close to her chest, "uhm, might I ask you if you had been attacked recently?"
Mia and Hinata looked at each other, "what do you mean by 'attack', Dr. Filo?" Mia asked softly, she was not sure how to answer such a vague question like that one. In the past, she had been attacked many times, sometimes more than once in a day, as Naruto, but not Mia. She looked over to Hinata to see what should say.
"Oh, well, if you don't feel like talking about it with me, that is fine, however," Dr. Filo paused as she thought over her words carefully for a moment. "As a doctor, as your doctor, I need to know if you have a boyfriend?" She had a worried look in her eyes that told the two girls that she was asking out of concern.
After a few moments of silence in the room, Hinata cleared her throat, "uhm, Mia, if you want, can I tell her what happened to you?" Mia took a second before she nodded, she had no idea what she was going to tell the doctor herself, but maybe Hinata had an idea of what to say. Hinata nodded her head to her friend before turning her attention to the doctor who was waiting patiently for an answer. "Uh, before I tell you, would you mind tell us why you think that Mia was attacked before?"
Dr. Filo nodded, "yes, of course," she looked back onto her clipboard, reading off of her notes for a second before speaking. "From everything that I have gathered through the health exam, Mia has some faded bruising around her thighs and neck. When I removed her bandages to have a look at the injuries underneath, I found that there were some faded bruises and some light scaring there. Then I ran a blood test on her and found she didn't have anything in her systems that screamed plagues, but there was something that stood out. Since the blood test was generalized, the system ran her blood to see if she had any illness or diseases. She was negative on everything, except one." She took in a breath slowly and let it out just as slow, she looked both girls in the eyes seriously, "I only considered this as a possibility because of her bruises."
Hinata shook her head, "Dr. Filo...um, what are you trying to say?" She asked as she held Mia's hand, she had gotten up to stand next to her while the doctor was talking.
"Well, basically what I'm saying is that..." Filo looked from Hinata to Mia, "you are pregnant." Mia sat there staring at the blond doctor for a long time, she blinked her eyes slowly as she stared at the doctor much like a fish. She felt her brain turn off and on for a moment as she tried to process the information she was just given. Hinata turned to look at her, the both of them stood there in silence for a long time, not moving or speaking. Filo could not say that she did not expect this reaction from them, it was big news after all, and at such a young age, however, as shocking as this was, she needed to continue, "um, Mia," she took a step forward as she spoke, "this is why I asked you if you had a boyfriend earlier. This might be personal, but I need to know so I can know what to do for you. The fact that you are able to get pregnant at such a young age is concerning, you're about nine to ten years old, but you are currently pregnant. That could be seen as a medical, but it's actually very dangerous if you also consider your current health."
Mia swallowed the lump in his throat, he couldn't understand what the doctor was telling him right now. He was pregnant, but he thought that only women could get pregnant. He was a boy, but he was pregnant, and he knew who the father was. He wishes he didn't, but he knew and it made him sick, but what really made him ill was the fact that he was pregnant at all. Suddenly he felt lightheaded, he couldn't believe what he going through right now, there had to be some kind of punchline or something to this, right? There had to be.
Filo noted the paleness that Mia gained to her skin, of course, Mia looked pale before she came into her office, but now..."Mia, are you feeling unwell right now? if you need to take a break, we can reschedule you for another appointment so we can talk more about this." Mia stayed silent, she only stared back at the doctor blankly as if she had been caught in a genjutsu.
Hinata frowned, her friend's behavior was understandable, but it also seemed as if she was hiding away within herself. She sighed, turning back to the doctor she said, "that would be good, we can come back tomorrow for another appointment around this time."
Filo nodded her head, "very well, I will have that set up for you, would you like to use the same name or a different one for the appointment registration?"
Hinata glanced at Mia for a second before nodding, "yes, the same name."
Filo nodded her head slowly, "then let's get you two back to your friends. You can stop by the nurse's station to confirm your registration for tomorrow." She took a step towards the door, she placed her hand on the knob, "you can come out whenever you are ready."
Once the two of them were alone in the room, Hinata turned back to her friend, "Naruto..." she didn't know how to say what she was thinking.
Naruto snapped out of his trans at the sound of his name being called, he looked over to Hinata and let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "Uh, hey, I'll be fine, let's just get out of here, okay?" Hinata nodded and the two of them left the office, they made their way out of the back area after stopping to confirm their appointment for the next day. They met up with Shikamaru and Chouj who were curious about what took them so long in the office, they had only expected to be there for about ten to twenty while Naruto got a simple checkup as a new patient. When Hinata and Naruto walked out of the door they had entered through earlier, the two boys got up and followed after Hinata and Naruto when they walked over to the section's exist.
"Hey, Hina, is everything okay?" Chouji asked curiously once he noticed that Naruto didn't seem too happy about something. He had not said a word to them since he left the office which was about ten minutes ago now, they were already walking away from the hospital to head back to their hideout.
Hinata lifted her hand to her lips, "I'll tell you later," she whispered to them.
when the group reached their hideout, Hinata let Naruto go back up to his room while she talked to Shikamaru and Chouji about what just happened. Shikamaru was the first to ask, "what happened in there, why did it take so long?" He asked since a simple checkup should have been around a ten to fifteen-minute wait at least, but he waited for them with Chouji for a little over an hour from when they went in until they came out.
Hinata plopped herself down in the chair, "well then, I don't really know how to say it any other way, so I will just get to the point. From what the doctor told us, Naruto is somehow pregnant."
"Pregnant!!" Shikamaru and Chouji both called out in shock and awe.
"But how?" Chouji asked, "he's a guy!"
Hinata nodded, "I know. But she did a blood test and it came back positive for that." She shrugged her shoulders, "I don't really know how that is supposed to work. I guess I could look it up, but I doubt that they will have anything on male pregnancy."
Shikamaru rubbed the back of his neck, "yeah, I don't think so." He stayed silent for a few minutes as he thought, "okay since we've already missed morning classes, we should at least make it back for the evening classes. We can talk to Naruto about this after school so he can think about his situation in the meanwhile. Hopefully, you guys will find out that this doctor was just joking and everything was all a big misunderstanding."
"Really, Shikamaru, that's what you're going with?" Hinata asked with a deadpan face.
He shrugged, "it's better than the alternative. It would be wholly bizarre if it really was true. Not to mention that there are more than enough things going against Naruto at the moment, I don't think this should be added onto them."
Chouji and Hinata both agreed with him, they worried about Naruto's wellbeing and his overall health. "By the way, I was just thinking," Chouji started, the other to turn to him when he paused. "well, I'm not saying that this is what happened, but what if Kyuubi had something to do with this?" He asked, his two friends stared at him curiously, "I mean since we don't know much about seals or how complicated they can be. I guess what I'm saying is, what if Kyuubi's seal caused Naruto to become pregnant...or maybe just make it appear so on a blood test."
Shikamaru thought about it, he couldn't bring himself to put too much faith in that assumption, but there was a possibility. Just like when everyone thought that the Kyuubi had perished all those years ago, if he took that into account, then it could make some sense. "Alright, then maybe we can ask him about it, after school we can all sit down and talk about what he wants to do."
"What do you mean, what he wants to do?" Hinata asked, "do...do you guys really think that he could be pregnant?"
The two boys were quiet for moments before the Nara heir sighed, "well, actually, I don't really know what to think. It's really troublesome, but since we started to hang out with Naruto after all these years at the academy, I have noticed something. Chouji noticed somethings too, things about Naruto that he might not have wanted us to notice about him. I didn't think much about it at first, but...I think...and this is only an assumption," Shikamaru hesitated to speak, he didn't like talking about subjects like these. It was far too troublesome to think about, and he hated that it could have or has been happening to one of his best friends. But that seemed to be the case. "I think that Naruto...might have been raped before..."
Hinata gasped, "no..." she never got close to Naruto before out of fear and worry, so she could only notice things happening from afar. Yet, Shikamaru and Chouji were always close enough to see the things that he was hiding from everyone else.
Shikamaru sighed again, he really didn't want to think about his friend having something so disgusting happen to him, but it became apparent that he might have to now. "Look, I don't like it, but, it seems that he might have gotten raped again, and I already have a list of people in mind who might have done it. The only thing I'm missing is the reason why," he took his hand from the back of his head and rubbed his eyes, "it's gonna be hard to have that talk, but it's something we need to have." He opened his eyes to look at his two friends, "even though it seems ridiculous now if it is possible, then we should see what he wants to do with it."
Chouji nodded, "that's right, so it's good that he already has another appointment with the doctor tomorrow. Maybe she can be a little more detailed in her testing so we can confirm that Naruto really is pregnant. I heard that sometimes someone can just appear pregnant, even men, although it is rare."
As the trio talked, they failed to notice the subject of their conversation enters the room. His head was down so his bangs were covering his face. "Do you really think so?" Naruto asked softly, his voice sounded hoarse as if he had trouble using it. Hinata walked over to him and gave him a hug, Naruto didn't mind it, he welcomed the warm embrace as tears flowed down from his eyes.
The others let Naruto cry for a few minutes, letting him get out some of his pent-up emotions. When they thought he was calm enough, Shikamaru spoke up first, "Naru...tomorrow, if it turns out that you really are pregnant...what will you do?"
Naruto wiped his eyes of any remaining tears, "uh, I'm not really sure. But..." he took in a death breath and let it out slowly, he was leaning his head on Hinata's shoulders as he thought. If he had a kid, would they look more like him or their father, Zen? If they looked like Zen, then Naruto wasn't sure if he could stand it, but what if they looked like him? Would he be able to give up on them? Regardless of this kid's looks, could Naruto really throw them away without getting to know them first? He was undecided about what to do at the moment. "I think I should wait to hear what Dr. Filo has to say first before I make up my mind."
"Sounds like a good idea," Chouji nodded. He clapped his hands together loudly to try to dispel the tension around them, "okay then, how about I get started on some lunch? we're already in hot water with sensei, so why not fill our bellies with something warm and nice before we have to head to class to face the music? I'm thinking ramen sounds good for this type of moment."
Naruto chuckled softly at his friend, "yeah, that does sound pretty good. I am getting pretty hungry."
"Great! I'll go out and get everyone their meals so we can eat together," Chouji said getting out of his seat and quickly heading over to the door. As Chouji walked away, Shikamaru sighed, he was grateful to his friend for being himself.
