Summary
Sometimes, your life struck you as something you would read about online. Then again, that's probably because, at one time or another, you had.A gathering of one-shots based off of Dialogue, OTP, and other one-shots based on prompts I find online. Most of them are pretty short, some off them can be seen as connected but aren't necessarily connected.
Note
We know Kakashi and Itachi worked together on ANBU for a while, and frankly the way Itachi looked up to Kakashi was adorable. We are also aware of the fact Kakashi was kind of an asshole when he was younger. Then I saw the dialogue prompt and this was born.

'Daddy' Issues-Yusuke

Tumblr Post

Urameshi Yusuke

It was a silly complaint, especially considering what you and the rest of the team had been dragged through in the years since the Dark Tournament.  You weren’t even going to think about the whole Saint Beasts deal, you were still mad at the guys for taking the easy job and dealing with the beasts themselves while you were stuck on pest control back in the human world.  That was the entire reason Yusuke kept his mouth shut about those possessed by the bugs going after you and Keiko.

Still, you had decided to stay with your parents to visit for the weekend for their anniversary.

Now, you were wishing you stayed at the apartment you shared with Keiko and sent a card in the mail.  You would have gotten a nasty voicemail from your mother, but at least you wouldn’t be dealing with her judgmental yelling beyond what you heard before you deleted the message.  Then there was your father, and whatever questionably legal venture he was getting into.  Your family had more than enough money to spare, he didn’t need to keep swindling to get more.

You had expected Yusuke to show up once he noticed you left the USB you kept your homework on at his place, you often escaped to either Yusuke’s apartment to do homework.  It was the only safe spaces you had left anymore.  Once you heard your mother practically screech through the halls he was there, she always called him that boy, you grabbed your old high-tops and black and white varsity jacket covered in colorful pins as you sprinted out of your room.  She had never liked Yusuke, not since the day you met in grade school, when he got in a fight with other boys cause they wouldn’t let you play soccer with them simply because you’re a girl.  You never cared what your mother thought, even as Yusuke never showed up to middle school.

You did punch him for almost dying though, and also for freaking you out as he tried to reach out to you as a spirit.  Nobody had been able to see him before, and even Botan didn’t expect you to actually be able to see and communicate so clearly with spirits.  To be fair, you had just stepped out of the shower and wore nothing but a towel as you made your way from your private bathroom to your adjoining bedroom.

You barely took the time to grab your old purse before you dashed to the door, snatching the flash drive from Yusuke and tossing it into your purse with one hand as you grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the house.

“Let’s go,” you ordered as you pulled him back out to his car, waiting impatiently at the passenger’s seat as he unlocked the car to let you in.

“That bad already?” Yusuke couldn’t help but ask as you drove off with no destination in mind, “It normally takes at least a full twenty-four hours.”

“Mom met some guy and gave him my number, dad’s got some new ‘business deal’ and a new secretary, mom found wine of the month club and a new pool boy-“

“When did you get a pool?” Yusuke couldn’t help but ask.  He’d been to your childhood home before, and while there was a koi pond in the back yard there was certainly no pool.

“We didn’t,” you answered flatly as you sulked in your seat, placing one foot against the dash as you crossed your arms and your lips turned upwards into a pout, wishing you had a demon to punch.  Maybe you could get away with dropping by the Makai boarder, pretending you were there to visit Hiei before asking if there were any nearby demons that needed to be taken care of.

“Well damn,” he replied, turning down the road leading away from your family home and on the way to the temple, where you could have the freedom to violently vent your anger, “That’s what you get for going back.”

“I was trying to do something nice for their anniversary, clearly that was unnecessary.  Why would I think they want to celebrate their marriage when they’ve hated each other since they met?  If they were open about it that would be one thing, but they're lying about it and covering it up!  That's not a relationship, that's two greedy people cheating on each other trying to keep their money,” you ranted as you agreed, still utterly frustrated with the nagging about your hair, clothes, posture, the few pale scars you had received over the years, your makeup, your posture, and literally everything else your mother had criticized since you surprised your parents with that nice dinner last night.  You should have just taken the ingredients you clearly wasted your money on and made a big dinner for the team.

They always got a kick out of that.

“You know what?  Fuck them.”  You nodded along with your friend as he started speaking sense, even if it only lasted for a few seconds before he added, “You don’t need those assholes.  I’ll be your dad, and your mom, your...dom, wait!  Fuck!  No!”

Your eyes nearly bugged out of your skull as you started laughing hysterically, your foot sliding off the dash as you hugged your stomach and leaned your forehead on the dash.  Your eyes squeezed shut as you felt the tears forming and you gasped for breath, your stomach hurt, and you had no idea how long you had been laughing.  You looked up when you thought you had calmed down, the car reaching a stop at a light, and you saw Yusuke hitting his head on the top of the steering wheel, sending you into another fit of giggles.

Well, at least you were in a better mood, even if you were going to humiliate him for the rest of his life.  If it had been anyone else, this wouldn’t be so bad.  It’s not like he’s been having sex dreams about literally anyone else, and they had been a regular staple of his REM cycle for the past few years.  He completely blamed the Dark Tournament.  Sure, seeing you in that towel while he was kind of dead couldn’t have helped, and every time he thought you couldn't get hotter you proved him hysterically wrong, but as part of the team you ended up sharing a hotel room with the guys and those shorts you slept in were…

Nope, nope, don’t think about that.  Don’t think about-

Yusuke hadn’t noticed your giggles had finally subsided, focusing his attention on the road, and he certainly didn’t notice the little smirk gracing your lips.  He had no time to prepare for what came next.

You couldn’t help it, you had to do it.  It was just too funny not to.

Daddy~

You felt the jerk of the car as Yusuke swerved to the side of the road and shifted the gear into park before turning to you.  He looked stern, and he was giving you a long lecture about never saying that again, but you just kept on laughing.

The rest of your day continued, meeting with the rest of the team at the temple, light training, followed by a card game gone wrong as you all quickly remembered why you never played poker.  Yusuke dropped you off at your apartment, and you and Keiko got out of the car already making a list of things you needed to pick up from the shop next door.  You mentioned something about trying to make sushi again, Yusuke wasn’t even listening anymore.  He was busy trying to figure out how he was going to get to sleep.

It didn’t matter what he did.  Every time he was about drift off, he saw you in his mind’s eye.  Every time you were dressed in some kind of lingerie, but always in a different position.  The most haunting part was that one word you would coo at him every time.

Daddy.
