The First meeting
He sighed before neatly folding the letter up and put it in his jean pocket. Fixing his pale-yellow sweater with white sleeves, and he let his white sleeves fall over his hands and the left side of the sweater to fall off of his shoulder a tad. As he started to walk, he moved through the forest pausing for a moment. How he was still moving, he was expecting himself to fall and wither away when he made it a few feet away or immediately after he touched the rose, but here he was he didn’t have any black veins to show the withering affecting his body.
He wasn’t vomiting or having tingling skin, let alone blacking out just to not wake back up again. He hummed as he thought daybed his powers had something to do with that… was he immune to poison or potions? The would be lame though, how was he meant to learn and grow with that. The letter wished him luck with his powers; they wouldn’t be that…He turned around again to look around the clearing again. It was overgrown and covered in flowers and other plants like ferns and tall grass.
Maybe something to do with that, everything else in the forest was plain but beautiful. Just not over frown with any flowers, ferns or even a single wither rose in sight other than in the clearing, everything looked normal in the surrounding area. He was more than certain now that his new powers had something to do with plants, which was super cool if that was true. He hummed happily as he relaxed now that he knew he wasn’t going to die or wither away and become a pile or ash or something. He sighed and started to walk through the forest abandoning and planning on leaving the clearing behind. It was someone else’s problem now.
Not his problem now and if this was truly real, he’s going to get money and buy some land. Out in a forest and away from everyone he wasn’t going to let this life be full of sorrow and worry. The more he walked the more he noticed some of the wildlife following him and the more he noticed his hearing was a tad better than it normally was…
He glanced around a flock of ravens gliding overhead just to land a few feet ahead of him and just as he walked a few feet ahead of them they would repeat the action as if afraid he would just disappear if they flew too far away, or they’ll lose him. He also noticed a young fox was also following behind him. It looked to still be a kit. He couldn’t help but wonder where it’s mum was but other than the flock of ravens and the baby fox that followed him a herd of doe or deer followed for a few before turning back when he was almost at the edge of the forest.
He paused to stare at the birds then turned around after a minute to find the kit that was still following him. He used to have a fox mask that he would wear everywhere with him. He wonders if he can get a new one... He has always wanted a pet fox and along with cats those were his two favorite animals. He used to own a cat before he died… He misses her but that’s ok. With those thoughts in mind, he crouched down to the kit’s height the best he could, though he would still tower over the poor thing if it got closer. He hesitantly held out his left arm and made sure to have his palm facing upwards at the sky.
He watched as the small fox walked out of the bush it was hiding in. He stayed still and as relaxed as he could as he watched it walk closer. The little thing was a silver fox with a beautiful black coat with little bits of silvery white fur and white on its tail tip and his little ears. It was honestly cute. His ear’s looked like they were just dipped straight into white paint. Even
Though it was cute, he was still too skinny to even be considered healthy. The little guy was very fluffy though and it seemed to hide some of it... He must be so hungry he thought as he was more than certain now that the little guy was all alone. As soon as it was close enough the kit touched his palm with its little wet and cold nose to his palm. He was careful when he shifted to pick the kit up. He was slow and gentle, when the kit let him pick him up filly he cradled the baby to his chest like a baby. Once he was sure it was comfy and ok with being carried, he stood up.
He smiled softly at the little guy “Oh your adorable” He spoke softly as he cradled them to his chest “Let’s get you some food” He muttered softly as he smiled down at the fox kit now in his arms. Before he started to walk fully out of the forest and he wasn't sure what he was looking at, a kingdom or even a city? Do cities have castles? He thought quietly as he glanced at all of the people.
They seemed to be having a festival in this crowded area of shops and stands. The more he glanced around from where he stood, he noticed there was in fact a castle out in the distance he shivered as a breeze blew around him. He sighed and walked forwards; he wasn't sure if he was dressed for this timeline or period of time. He was literally wearing a bright yellow sweater with white sleeves that basically glowed with how gloomy the area was even with so many people and shops. Not to even say that his sweater was too big, so it fit comfortably. Half of his sweater was off his left shoulder showing the black strap of the tank top he had under the sweater. Not to add that even his plan blue jeans seemed to stand out.
So, he understood why he was getting weird looks and some judgmental looks. It didn't help that he had birds following him and that he was holding a small little silver fox kit in his arms. He couldn't understand why people were looking at him with disgust. He knew he stood out and that holding a baby fox in his arms and a lot of ravens following him would be seen as odd. He just didn’t get why the humans seemed to dislike him… That was until he noticed a few hybrids getting the same looks he was getting if not with more disgust behind them this had made him pause. Was he a different hybrid? Last he remembered he didn’t have a lot going on in that factor.
He also frowned at the state all the hybrids were in, either looking poor or straight out broke and they all looked beaten. At the few thoughts he just had he paused, the little fox in his arm’s making a small sound of confusion as he turned into a clothing shop. He ignored the look the person at the counter gave him as he confidently walked into the shop. As he did so he stole a handful of berries as he passed by a stall that was selling them.
He stood in front of a mirror looking over his appearance before he went back out to steal or make some money to buy proper clothing. He better look badass if he had more noticeable hybrid features. The eye’s that stared back at him weren't his normal hazel one’s but A pale yellow and dark blue eyes that stared back… His left eye was yellow and right one was blue, that was kinda cool he thought as he drifted over his sweater and jeans before pausing as he saw some red-brown fox ears on his head…
They looked very fluffy, and the tips were blond and he glanced down as he turned his body as he stared at the fluffier looking tail the same colors with the tip being blond rather than the normal white you would expect to see. The only question he had was how he hadn’t noticed? Maybe he was so in shock he just didn’t register anything else than his surroundings yeah that seemed right.
He glanced down at the fox in his arms as he noticed they ate all the berries he had held out of the little guy. He hummed as he looked back at the mirror… He should make his hair match his tail and ears!! His hair was the same reddish-brown color all he’s missing is blond highlights or blond bands. He just had to figure out if this timeline has hair dye...
He started to walk again and out of the store before he was kicked out by the person at the register with the look they were giving him. He kept the little fox cradled to his chest, as the little one whined in his arms. He smiled down at them, and he continued to walk as he glanced around for food for the little fox. As he walked past the same shop as before with the berries, he snatched a few when the shopkeeper wasn’t looking.
He fed the handful to the little fox as he kept walking looking for a shop to get a few things in, He paused when he saw a little shop called “Clementines Herbal Shop” is what the sign above the door said and on the door under the words open said “Open for all” He hoped that meant all as in everyone no matter what. He started forwards towards the shop walking past a few people and stealing a few coins. That’s all they had, coins so he assumed that was the currency in this world.
A small bell rang over head as he entered the little shop. The person behind the counter was a blond-haired teen who was probably 17 or 18 years’ old and looked rather tired behind their happy facial. He paused as he noticed how bright their blue eyes seemed to be. They stared right back at him as they spoke “Welcome! Take a look around and call me if you need help!” The teen said cheerfully. He just gave them a simple nod before walking around till he found the shelves that had paper and ink on them. He hummed as he gently set the little fox down so he would carry what he needed.
As he walked around, he was pleased to see that the little fox had enough strength to follow him around almost like a little duckling. He walked up to the counter after a few moments of making sure he had everything. He set everything down as he gave the teen a small smile as they spoke again “Will this be all?” They had asked and he only nodded. He was a man of little words and hated talking. After his nod the kid started to pack the paper and ink up in a bag before wrapping the flowers he had grabbed neatly up and setting them into the bag. After a second of two the kid spoke again “Two gold” They had said. He was quick to drop them on the counter and grab his bag. He crouched down grabbing the fox kit again and then leaving the shop.
Tommy watched as the stranger left. He said his normal goodbye to the customers as they rushed out of his shop “Have a lovely day!” Tommy shouted after them just as the bell above the door rang out through the shop. To signal their leave. After the weird hybrid left, Tommy honestly thought they were weird… They walked into his shop looking like an outsider but the aura of a noble as if they were of higher rank.
He honestly didn’t know what to think?
