Chapter 5

Satine awoke alone. She saw Obi-Wan’s Jedi robes spread out upon the floor and heard the shower running in the adjoining refresher. She lay on the bed awhile listening to the sound of the running water. A shiver ran through her as she thought of Obi-Wan standing naked in the steaming hot water, the water running over his sculpted muscles. Satine reminded herself to behave, but it was just so hard having him back in her life and this time it was real and forever. She could smell him on the pillows and sheets. Rolling over onto her stomach, she could feel the urge to pleasure herself building deep inside her. Why shouldn’t she indulge herself? After all, she was a Duchess. She moved her hand down between her legs and began to rub herself. It was not long till she was moving in a rhythm. She was so lost in her self-pleasuring that she hadn’t noticed that the shower water had stopped running. Nor did she hear the door slide open.

‘Satine!’ said Obi-Wan, shocking her out of her revelry. She looked up at him dumfounded, ‘I thought you said you could control yourself,’ he continued.

‘I can,’ Satine replied, sitting up.

‘Doesn’t look like it.’

‘Like you can talk, you’re walking around in nothing but a towel. You’re such a tease,’ Satine pouted and then threw a cushion at him. He dodged the cushion with ease. Satine looked down from his face to his bare chest and arms. There was more chest hair and muscle than she remembered, and more scars. She noticed a thick red line running across his left bicep.

‘I’m sorry, Obi,’ she said running over to him. Then she gently caressed the red scar.

‘Count Dooku gave me that one,’ replied Obi-Wan looking down at it, ‘Anakin wasn’t so fortunate that day, he lost his right forearm.’

‘I’m glad you’ve left the Order. Please, promise me that you won’t pick up a lightsaber again.’

‘That’s why I surrendered it, my sweet, so I can be here in peace for you and our son.’ Obi-Wan took Satine into his arms and they shared a short but sweet kiss.

Then Satine quickly stooped and picked up Obi-Wan’s clothes. Handing them to him, she said: ‘Please put these on before I rip that towel off you.’ She blushed and walked away toward her walk-in-wardrobe.
* * *
The journey from Coruscant to Mandalore took approximately four standard days, all running smoothly.
Satine and Obi-Wan had somewhat to occupy themselves with things that didn’t involve them in any sexual activity, though it was difficult.

They played many quite competitive games of Dejarik and spoke of Korkie.

‘Is he Force sensitive?’ asked Obi-Wan.

‘No, he’s not,’ replied Satine.

‘I’m glad. You said that he has my face, does Korkie take after me in any other ways?’

‘I think it best that you just wait until you meet him. Keep it a surprise, and then you will know.’

‘That’s a lot of pressure to put me under.’

‘I know, darling, but it will be worth the wait.’ Satine smiled.

They also made wedding preparations.

‘What colour should we wear? I know that white is traditional, but under the circumstances it’s hardly appropriate,’ said Obi-Wan.

‘I think that white is perfect,’ replied Satine, ‘It signifies a new beginning.’

‘You’re quite right, my dear. But what if the people don’t like me? What if they don’t want an ex-Jedi as their Duke, despite my Mandalorian heritage?’

‘They have heard of your heroics in the past and more recently, I’m sure they will be pleased with my choice in husband.’

‘I worry about Korkie, what will his friends say? His illegitimacy could cause many problems and questions to arise.’

‘It already does. Do you not think that I have not had to deal with the personal shame of keeping his parentage a secret? He knows neither mother, nor father and is greatly vexed by it. Not to mention his peers and the Mandalorian court.’

‘What if they don’t believe that I am his father?’

‘We will deal with the issue if it comes to that. A simple blood test should suffice. But trust me, Obi, there was no other man nor has there been since we parted.’

Obi-Wan smiled at Satine, took her hand in his, and caressed her fingers. Satine smiled back.

‘I love you, Satine.’

‘My dear Obi, I’ve been waiting nearly two decades to hear those words. I love you too.’

They shared a kiss. Then Obi-Wan sighed.

‘What’s the matter?’ questioned Satine.

‘I just realized that I don’t have a ring or anything to give you to signify my love and our engagement.’

‘Obi, I’m a Duchess, I don’t need anything. All I could ask for is you, right here with me by my side.’

Obi-Wan blushed. ‘May I invite some of my Jedi friends?’

‘Of course, my dear, we’ll have a royal wedding. I hope you don’t mind the people of Mandalore attending. I shall make it a public holiday on which peace and love are celebrated. You will make a fine Duke.’

‘Only with my Duchess by my side.’
