Chapter 4
It felt like good luck every time i saw her walk in, knowing there’s a bigger chance i can finally relax for a bit, unless i was still with a client and that’s when she would start arguing with them, yelling back and forth till i have to kick her out. Still, talking to her felt like i could finally feel my self taking a full breath as my shoulder fall, slowly realising how lonely it was working this job even though i was talking to people everyday, no talk was as meaningful and fun as talking to her.
Once she was sat on my desk, making fun of how i really cant fight because i never needed to, she stood off and made me throw a punch, which was really lousy with my arms bending some weird way and the was the first time i heard a genuine laugh from her. A hearty laugh with small snorts making me join her too, maybe at my expense but so worth it. She took a breath and fixed all my flaws, sweeping my feet off to the right directions, her hands twisting my torsos by my waist, shifting my shoulders and feeling her rough hands slide up my arms gently till she reached my hands, feeling as she was quiet particular with their position the most. Unable to stop smiling softly as I realise how gentle her touch was.
“What’s with that look?”
“What look?”
I watched as she silently questioned me, her eyes narrow with a small suspicious smile. My eyes on hers with a soft and teasing smile she’s managed to pull out of me every time she got near me, still in the fighting stance she put me in. I was clearly amused and so was she, i felt her hand sliding around my waist once again before she jumped back onto my desk.
“Raise your hands higher”
I tried not to show how much that small gesture affected me as i did as she told, glancing over at her as i tried to look as threateningly as possible, or as threatening as she is in her fights.
“How do i look?”
“Pretty scary, I’d be very weary if i saw you in the ring”
I could hear the sarcasm under her small chuckle, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes and let my hands fall back down before getting a small little evil mischievous idea.
“I bet i could fight you”
I said with a small and evil smirk as i went back into the stance she just taught me. I couldn’t help see how much i piqued her interest, as if perking her ears up, an amused look on her face as she got off my desk again.
“Really”
“Um yah”
i said oh so confidently even though we both knew there was going to be no actions behind those words, yet she seemed pretty clueless about that. I watched as she moved closer and i started mimicking the way fighters usually jump from side to side before a fight, before i see as she actually went into her fight mode and clearly catching me off guard as i stoped for a second and in a single blink i feel her leg swoop under mine to pull me off balance with her hand pushing me to the floor, shutting my eyes as i expect my head to hit the floor but instead i feel her hand between my head and the floor.
I slowly open my eyes to see her small grin looking down at me, her other hand at the side of my head to hold her body up as she was practically on top of me. For the first time i was actually getting flustered, my face heating up as i felt how quick my breath got from something so quick. I glanced up at her speechless, even after my lips parted to say something it was silent.
“I don’t think it was a fight you wanted, cupcake”
She spoke with her voice low and smooth, sending shivers down my spine as I’ve never heard her speak so close to my ear, my ever glued to her dark lips, noticing the small cut on her upper lip before looking back up into her eyes with a tone to match hers.
“Glad you finally figured”
