I know, “Baby, no attachments”

Regina thought about Marlene for a whole week after they said their goodbyes. An entire week went by before Regina received a message from the older girl.

A simple ‘hey’, had Regina’s heart racing and her cheeks flushing. Regina tried to be cool about it though and responded with a simple ‘hi’ in response.

Half a week, and many late-night conversations later and Regina was driving with Sirius to a bar to see his friends. Normally she would've declined but Marlene would be there and the younger girl simply yearned for her presence.

“Don’t leave my side or one of my friends’ when we’re at the bar Reg, you can’t trust people,” Sirius says sternly in the car. Regina rolls her eyes.

“God Sirius I can defend myself,” Regina groans.

“Don’t roll your eyes at me, a sober man is already gross enough but a drunk one? Downright disgusting,” Sirius explains. Regina still thinks Sirius is being overprotective and paranoid, however.

“I’m not a little girl anymore Sirius I can handle myself,” Regina crosses her arms, starting to feel self-conscious about her outfit.

She had on a black tank top, small gray shorts, and black platform sandals.

“I know Reg, I worry though,” Sirius sounds sad his tone deflates any arguments Regina could think of.

“Okay, I’ll stay with you Siri,” Regina concedes Sirius doesn’t respond but he does smile.

“We’re here,” Sirius says abruptly. Before Regina can get out of the car Sirius stops her. “Where are your glasses? I know your contacts aren’t in,” Sirius crosses his arms.

“I don’t know,” Regina grumbles out. Sirius can be so overbearing.

“They're in my purse, you will wear them because you can’t see for shit,” the older Black sibling rummages around through his belongings. “Here,” he thrusts the glasses case into Regina’s hands.

“No,” Regina pouts

“Reggie, you can’t see well,” Sirius starts. “I know you hate them, but if you wear them I’ll take you to get froyo tomorrow,” he sing-songs.

Regina didn’t want to give in, but the prospect of frozen yogurt was too good, and her fight was too little.

“Pinky promise and I’ll put them on,” Regina says. Sirius has never broken a pinky promise before. Sirius nods and they lock pinkies their other hands held up to show they aren’t crossing their fingers.

Regina sighs and slips her glasses on. She really can’t see very well without them, they just weren’t very cute looking.

“Let’s go in now,” Sirius opens the car door, and Regina does the same, making sure she has everything in her purse.

The bar itself isn’t particularly special, it’s just a bar, but Regina quickly spots Marlene in the crowds.

“C-could we go talk to Marlene,” Regina stutters quietly, looking down at her feet.

“Okay,” Sirius takes Regina’s hand and leads her through the crowds to Marlene, she’s carrying three drinks.

“Hey Sirius, Regina,” Marlene greets. God Regina missed her voice. Sirius takes one of Marlene’s drinks.

“Hi Marls, I’m gonna go find Rem, don’t let Reggie out of your sight okay?” Sirius points to where he’s going as he talks.

“Take these drinks then,” Marlene all but shoves the other drinks in Sirius’ arms. Sirius scoffs before walking away.

“You look good Princess,” Marlene tucks a loose curl behind Regina’s ear, she blushes in response. “Didn’t know you wore glasses,” she adds lightly tapping the side of Regina’s glasses.

Regina groans. “Ugh, Sirius made me wear them, I usually wear contacts, but I didn’t have time today,” she complains.

Marlene laughs at that. “Don’t worry doll, they look cute,”. Regina's face somehow goes redder than it already was.

“Thank you,” she responds quietly.

“How’s your tattoo healing up?” Marlene suddenly asks.

“Oh um good? I think?” Regina’s voice is high as she answers. She wants to yell, 'cause what the hell was that answer?

“Wanna go somewhere… private so I can look at it?” The older girl asks nonchalantly. Regina is taken aback before she nods. Marlene grabs her hand and leads Regina to the bathroom. It was a single stall so they didn’t have to worry about being interrupted.

Marlene looks so gorgeous in her halter top and tight jeans. Regina wants to kiss her.

Marlene all but man handles Regina to turn around. “Bend over for me baby,” she says, her gravelly voice, and the command making Regina’s face heat.

“Okay,” Regina whispers, complying with Marlene’s request. Regina could feel her shirt ride up, enough that Marlene could surely see the tattoo. Regina shivers when she feels Marlene’s fingertips ghost against her lower back.

“It looks so pretty on you doll,” Marlene breathes. “It’s healed up so nicely,” she continues, her hands now moving to grasp Regina’s waist. Marlene lifts one hand up to Regina’s neck and pulls the smaller girl back upright.

“Marlene,” Regina whines. Marlene leans into Regina’s neck and presses a kiss to her neck.

“We should head back, don’t want anyone to miss us,” Marlene whispers against the younger girl’s neck. Regina nods jerkily. Marlene releases Regina completely. Regina almost whines at the loss.

Marlene leaves the bathroom without a glance behind her like she just knows Regina will follow her. The worst part is that she’s right.

Sirius and his other friends are at a large booth. There’s just enough space beside Sirius for Marlene and Regina to slide in.

Regina slides into the spot next to her brother.

“Marls, did a tattoo for Reggie about a week and a half or so ago,” Sirius says suddenly.

“Really? Didn’t think you’d be too happy about that Sirius,” Peter says with shock. It’s honestly fair, Regina couldn’t believe that Sirius hadn’t stopped her.

“I mean she’s young and might regret it, but I can’t really stop her, so I’d rather her go somewhere reliable than some random place,” Sirius shrugs.

Regina tunes out the rest of the conversation as the conversation drifts away from her tattoo.

“So Reg, how’s college life treating you?” Lily’s voice registers in Regina’s mind. Regina blinks for a moment before answering.

“Terrible, I dropped out, I got a job at some store,” Regina answers quickly. She wasn’t ashamed of dropping out, she hated college.

“Honestly relatable,” Lily smiles. Regina nods and tunes out the conversation again.

“Hmm you never told me you were a dropout,” Marlene suddenly whispers lowly in Regina’s ear.

“How would I have even brought that up?” Regina whispers back, her voice small.

“I dunno,” Marlene shrugs. “Wanna go dance?” She asks suddenly. Regina is helpless to anything Marlene asks of her, she’d do anything for the older girl.

“O-okay,” Regina finally answers. Marlene smiles and slides out of the booth, Regina following suit. Marlene grabbed the smaller girl’s hand and led her to the dance floor, into the crowd, somewhere no one could see them.

Marlene starts to dance, and though Regina can’t dance she tries to copy her. She wants Marlene to think she’s cool, and that she can keep up with her. Regina knew though, that she fell short, she couldn’t dance like Marlene, couldn't get the moves right.

Eventually, Marlene’s hands make their way to Regina’s waist, pulling the pale girl in. Regina wraps her arms around the blonde's neck.

“God, babydoll, you don’t know what you do to me,” Marlene groans dropping her head into Regina’s neck. Regina’s face flushes.

“I don’t know how to respond to that,” Regina mutters, just for Marlene’s ears.

“Don’t say anything then, just feel it,” Marlene breathes into the crook of Regina’s neck. Regina can only hum in response, her eyes closing. They’ve come to a complete stop, just standing as people dance around them.

“I keep thinking about that day,” Marlene mutters. Regina’s eyes open in shock. “Baby, please tell me you think about it too,” Marlene looks up at Regina with wide desperate eyes. Regina wanted to kiss her lips till she could no longer breathe, till she and Marlene became one.

“Every day,” Regina answers, passion lacing her tone.

“I need you doll, you’re like a drug,” Marlene closes her eyes. Regina almost moans at that.

“S-Sirius would worry if I disappeared for a while,” Regina manages to force out. Marlene breathes into it for a long moment.

“I know, I wish we were alone,” Marlene sighs, squeezing Regina’s waist. Regina hums noncommittally.

“Regina!” Sirius yells from somewhere. Regina and Marlene separate quickly.

“I guess I should go,” Regina mutters reluctantly. Marlene nods, moving into the crowd without so much as a goodbye. Regina sighs and goes to find Sirius. Her older brother is standing with Remus near the bathrooms.

“Where were you?” Sirius asks his arms crossed.

“Dancing,” Regina answers her voice clipped.

“With who?”

“Marlene,” Regina mutters.

Sirius sighs rubbing his temples. “I wish you told me, but as long as you weren’t alone,” he sighs. Regina rolls her eyes. “Don’t roll your eyes, you promised to stay with me or one of my friends,” Sirius gives the younger Black a pointed look.

“I know, I just don’t know why you have to be so annoying about it,” Regina complains.

“We’re leaving,” Sirius suddenly says.

“What! Why?” Regina shrieks.

“Clearly you don’t respect that I worry about you,” Sirius answers.

“God Sirius, I’m an adult, you’re not my father,” Regina crosses her arms.

“I’m as good as,” Sirius mutters.

“I’m still an adult, you can’t make me leave,” Regina says petulantly.

“Regina, we’re leaving,” Sirius’ tone leaves no room for arguments. Regina rolls her eyes, Sirius ignores the action, instead taking Regina’s arm and all but dragging her outside, Remus trails behind them.

Regina hadn’t noticed just how stuffy she felt in the bar until she was outside.

“Hey Moons, can you text the group chat, and tell them we left,” Sirius asks as he leads Regina to the car.

“Of course,” Remus answers, and Regina can hear the smile in his voice.

“Why is Remus here?” Regina asks suddenly remembering that he got here on his own.

“I took the bus here, and Sirius drank a bit, I don’t drink so I offered to drive,” Remus answers quietly.

When they get to the car, Remus gets in the driver's seat, Sirius in the passenger seat, and Regina in the backseat.

Regina takes out her earbuds and plays her playlist, staring out the window.

She wishes she could be with Marlene alone for once. She wishes Sirius wasn’t so overprotective. She wished things had gone differently today. She wishes Marlene and her had more time together. She wishes for a lot of things but honestly, Regina just wants to see Marlene.
