Chapter 1
Centuries ago, before Megapolis was built, a huge earthquake came out of nowhere. Two old friends... Or should we say cousins? The two were going head to toe while fighting out their pain issue. The youngest, who was 11 years old, was raging out the most, “Why?! Why did you leave me?!”
The one, who was struggling the most to stand, was so hesitant to harm her, “Bai He, listen to me! I didn’t mean for any of this to happen!” He was holding a staff, which looked like a huge fan. “I didn’t want to leave you on your own, but-!”
The child, Bai He, cried out with so much rage and sadness bubbling up, “Screw you, Red Son!” Her eyes were glitching as her staff was glowing orange, mixed with purple. “After our parents were killed, you just got up and left me! While I was grieving! You took my name out of the book of death and yet you didn’t take our family’s names out! Why?! Why did they have to die while we were still here?!” Then her tone started to change as the chaos and shadow, controlling her, were going out of control. “Don’t you know that this is all your fault?!”
Red Son got scared as the ground started to crack. He had no choice, but charged at her, trying to get her to snap out. But the chaos energy was shooting at him while the shadow monsters would try to distract him. “Bai He, stop! Don’t make me do this!” He could hear her painful cries, but he saw his friends and his master in trouble. Tears rolled down from his eyes. When she didn’t realize, he reached out to her while he aimed at her tail. Using all the strength and courage he had, it ripped it off her. The scream could be heard from her. It started to make her feel weak. Before she could react, Red Son lost himself and he used the fan to get her far away.

Everything stopped. The world went back to normal and everything was gone. The shadows and chaos. But when Red Son was taken back to reality, there was fainted breathing and when he looked up... His heart dropped immediately. Coughing was all that could be heard. Blood being dropped to the floor. Bai He landed on a spike, through her chest. The child looked so pale and so damaged... Her eyes lost the spark. “N-No… No…,” was all that can come from Red Son's mouth. He was so distraught as he rushed over crying. “Bai He... Bai He!”
He got her out of the spike and held her close to his chest. More tears started to form. That’s when he heard nothing from the child anymore. She just in his arms... So lifeless... So empty. Red Son could barely breathe as he just roared in anger and agony.
He lost his parents... His uncles... Now he lost his own cousin, who he made a promise to her father that he would protect her.
He broke that promise.
