Learning how to fall!
Vortex: Okay, now let's get started with the basics of hand to hand combat!
Taylor: Yes sir! Show me how to punch someone out properly! My last attempt to learn this was kind of basic.
Vortex: Now, now easy there. Punching is like step five. The first lesson is how to fall! You will get knocked down when you fight. Knowing how to fall safely will allow you better odds and effectiveness on the battlefield.
Taylor: *snapping of a salute* Understood! Let's get started.
Vortex: *nodded before pushing the skinny teen on her back with no warning* Indeed. First, let's get you used to rolling with the impact.
*Several years later in the middle of the desert*
Vortex: Alright, I think that we are far enough away from civilization to cut loose a bit.
Taylor *sweating under a pile of supplies*: Excellent, now I get to be a Jedi!
Vortex: Nope, not yet if ever. Those guys just get too preachy. Now, drop that stuff and let's get to work.
Taylor *dumps supplies with a crash*: Phew, alright, now what's the first thing we are going to do?
Vortex: Learn to fall down a sandy cliff while not landing in the Sarlacc pit.
*Pushes Taylor down the sandy incline as a deep rumbling sounds from beneath them.*
Taylor: Fuck!!!!!!
*Several more years later, in a crowd of willowy trees, swaying in the wind*
Vortex *perched on a thin branch*: Now midair combat requires careful balance and situational awareness. Chakra allows for some cheating, but learning to do so without is better than relying on said cheat.
Taylor *keeping her balance while sweating*: Alright, I can do this. Piece of cake!
Vortex *leaps off of his perch before kicking the branch underneath Taylor*: Not really.
Taylor *bouncing between twigs and branches*: God damn it!
*Yet even more time passes*
Taylor *wearing a space suit*: Vortex, is this really necessary?
Vortex: Absolutely. Once you fall from this height, nothing else will ever compare.
Taylor:...Fuck you, asshole.
*Taylor jumped from the platform, the curve of the planets hemisphere barely visible from their position.*
Vortex: Bah, she'll thank me for this later. Woohoo!
