A Slight Miscommunication
Konoha: Shortly After Arriving From Brockton Bay.
Vortex: Hi Taylor, sorry the meeting went long. I hope the Academy was not too boring for you.
Taylor: *Responds Distantly* No, it's actually pretty nice. I'm just glad I don't have to go to class.
Vortex: Is something wrong? I know you don't like school, but I hoped that the aesthetic would be different enough you would not be uncomfortable.
Taylor: It wasn't that. I just met one of the teachers, and I think I freaked him out a bit?
*Tilts head sideways* Vortex: Huh, really? Instructors here have to deal with a lot of strange stuff. When you take bloodline abilities into account, it's practically like a training school for the Wards that actually trains you.
Taylor: It was the tall guy with the weird visor thing?
*Snaps fingers* Vortex: Oh, that would be Shino! He just started as an instructor this year. I have not talked to him in far too long! But why do you think you freaked him out?
Taylor: Well, my powers are kind of limited here, so I didn't notice it at first. But when I got close to him, I could sense these really awesome bugs! They were incredibly well developed and strong for their size! Smart too! But he was covered in the things, so I may have gotten too close? Is he okay?
Vortex: Er, Taylor? Shino is an Aburame. They are a clan of bug controllers who enter into a symbiotic relationship with specially bred bug strains as a part of their fighting style. You could honestly learn a lot from him with a little work.
Taylor: Damn it!
Vortex: What exactly happened? I've known Shino since he was younger than you. It takes quite a bit to freak him out.
Taylor: Well, I got up close to sense his swarm and asked him about the bugs. He went sort of red, mumbled something then ran down the hallway. Like I said, I freaked him out!
Vortex: That... doesn't sound right...

Kiba: Hey man, how's it going!
*Staring into a tea cup* Shino: Kiba.
Kiba: Did you know that Vortex-sensei was back in town? I heard that he even brought his latest student to train in the village for a while!
Shino: Yes, I am aware. Why? Because I met the student at the Academy while he was meeting with Naruto this afternoon.
Kiba: Lucky! What can you tell me about them? If Vortex-sensei is training them, then they have to be something special!
*Gulps his tea* Shino: Her name is Taylor. Her natural abilities allow her to control and manipulate insects on an individual scale. She is not limited by breed, just size, and has demonstrated some interesting techniques. For example, she can apparently cause spiders to weave cloth from their thread.
*Whistles* Kiba: Well shit, she's practically member of your clan already. Planning on showing her some tricks?
Shino: I do not believe that would be appropriate.
Kiba: Wait, what? What does being appropriate have to do with training someone that Vortex-sensei vetted already?
Shino: As you know, I have started working as an instructor at the Academy. Taylor is young enough that she could be considered an advanced Senior student.
Kiba: Okay....?
Shino: When I get too close, her ability affects my Hive. That results in my bugs hearing some... inappropriate language. While I don't believe this is a conscious decision on her part, it would be best to avoid the complication.
Kiba: So, what, her ability talks dirty to your Hive? What the hell is it saying that is so inappropriate?
Shino: "Call me Queen."
Kiba:...ouch, that is kind of messed up. Bet you wish you could safely drink booze now don't you?
Shino: Do not push me, Kiba. Why? Because I have fleas and know how to use them.
Kiba: Touche.
