Just Another Day At The office
Its real fucking bright and hot in the middle east. Just deserts and sand. But I guess its just one thing among many others that come with this job of mine. Being a mercenary isn't the most noble of professions but its all just ways to make money, and some ways are dirtier than others. But at least im getting carpooled to my drop off/supply point, I don't have to wait for it or god forbid walk in this heat. My purple fur would've been awful for this, thank god I've got decent coverings and there would be more clothes at the point. As I wait I recall the briefing that was about 7 hours ago now.
..
..
..
"Alright let's go through this one more time." The voice from my phone said. "Catnap you're gonna go and eliminate all forces and leaders of tha FIN and any third-party associated and stationed there. And to be ignored by the other group COES that's fighting FIN in the war. All clear?" "Yes." I reply. "Good, your plane is gonna touch down soon, and the flight there will be about 5 hours, and the ride to the drop off/supply point would take about another 2 hours. Any and all important figures or targets are unknown, so intel collection while there is a priority. Good luck, we are now gonna cease all communication until the operation is complete." They said, ending the call. I took a deep breath, and sighed out. This was gonna be a long and difficult mission.
..
The flight was uninteresting, and I was lucky to be able to hitch a ride with an arms dealer who sold weapons to both sides in the war. "You need a ride to the warzone? Alright then cat hop in." The yellow bunny said opening the door of a large truck. I hopped in and now it was time to wait. "Where exactly in the warzone are you headed to?" He said. "A building on the outskirts with a purple roof." I replied. "Oh I see, you're the person I hauled all that random shit for?" He said. I glared at him for a bit until he turned away. "Yeah you're a scary bitch alright, you gonna end the entire war or something? That was a lot of hardware that was left in that safe house. Don't worry, that place is off limits according to the deal I struck with your boss, so I wouldn't take any of your shit." He said as I just ignored him, shutting my eyes. I am already wishing I was elsewhere at this point.
After a while of driving, he dropped me off at the building which will be my home and safehouse for a while. On the outside it looked like a normal two-story desert building with a garage, same with the inside. The garage housed a dirt bike which would be my main mode of transportation. On the same floor had a shower and toilet bathroom, and upstairs had a normal double bed. Going down into the basement is where it changes. After opening a hatch which was hidden under some rugs, was a ladder that went down. Going down the ladder led to a room with a wall of firearms, another bed, a couple crates of rations, a few boxes of medical and hygiene supplies, a large crate of clothing, and finally, a couple large crates of ammunition.
Feeling a bit peckish, I grabbed the nearby crowbar and pried open one of the crates labelled food. Opening it revealed mostly canned goods. I grabbed a can that was labelled sweet corn and opened it using my knife, tipping the contents of it into my mouth.
One bit of information that was spoken by Bunzo, which was not totally useless, was that there are two people that he meets with on both sides of the war, one from FID was some dragon fella named simon, and one from COES was an elephant lady named Bubba. Since I was tasked to not interact with COED whatsoever, I decided to go after the dragon named Simon. After finishing my meal, I stocked up on equipment. My usual kit which is an HK416, a silenced Berretta M9A1, A few knives, some frag and flash grenades, and binoculars with a map of the area. After that I went to the garage door and opened it up, turning on the dirt bike. The engine roared as I turned the handle, slowly going outside as I rode off to the location to where Bunzo would usually meet with Simon.
After about 10 minutes I arrived at the general area, I wnet inside of a building and climbed to its roof to scan the area with my binoculars until I finally found the guy I was looking for. It was a red dragon leaning against a truck with a 50. Cal machine gun on the back, talking to about 6 other armed people. On the horizon I saw what looked to be an orange dog, a cocker spaniel to be exact. on one knee, also looking through binoculars. Thinking fast I ducked behind some cover on the roof, after a minute ai looked back and the dog was gone. I went and looked back towards Simon and he was in the truck with the people, driving towards the building im in. Shit, they must've spotted me, or that dog had seen my position and had told it to the dragon. I quickly set up in the building, waiting for them to show up.
After a while I heard the door from the first floor slam open. And 7 footsteps walk inside, I had my sights locked on the door to my room, when it opened slightly I had shot the door and the wall a couple times. I heard a metallic click sound when something got tossed into the room, it was a flashbang. I tried to avoid it by looking away-
When things went almost back to normal I saw someone charging at me with a large machete. And didn't have enough time to dodge as it got lodged into my side, I quickly pushed the guy away and shot him a a bunch when someone had grabbed me from behind and started choking me, and another person had dislodged the machete from my side and punched the newly open wound, now spewing large amounts of blood. As they were about to behead me, I saw a scope glint from the window outside, I then heard a bullet zip, and go through the guy about to chop mt head off. A few more bullets whizzed past taking out a few guys, as I saw the rest leave and heard the truck outside drive away.
I tried to stand and walk but before I was able to leave through the door I had collapsed on the floor, losing too much blood, I was about to pass out as I saw that same orange dog I saw on the horizon come through the door, looking at me.
