Chapter 4
“Excuse me?” You asked, making sure you heard him right.
“You heard me, you’re not going back.” He asked.
You took one step towards him.
“And...why is that?” You asked, sensing rage creeping in your body.
“Because you haven’t seen it yet, so you can’t go back until you’ve looked around.”
“Okay, so if I looked around in this...‘anime world’ you would...take me back home?” You asked, feeling really annoyed, but hopeful. You thought it was pretty cool that there was an anime world, but you wanted to see your family more.
“Hmm, that depends. Maybe if I’m in a good mood, then I’ll be nice, and let you go back, but if I’m in a bad mood...you’re staying here...” He grinned.
“With me.” He added, grinning wider.
At this point, you were just losing it. You were not prepared for any of this, and you weren’t supposed to. You never really knew that this would ever happen to you. You also had millions of questions swarming in your head, making you feel dizzy, which made it hard to think.
You sighed in annoyance, but clearly, this man wasn’t bothered by it.
“I don’t even know your name, you’re just a total stranger that I met when I was in a hurry, and YOU don’t even know MY name. Why did you give me that box?” You asked, demanding answers.
“Ah, well, first, my name is Kanekokato Soranagi, but usually my friends just call me Sora for short. Second, uh, well, I guess I was bored.”
‘Bored?!’ you repeated in thought.
‘Who would be that bored to do such crazy things?’ You continued.
“Ok, but why me, when there are like 7 billion other people on Earth?” You asked.
“Well, let’s just say...that I found you…” He paused, and looked around, though there was no one there except you and him. Then he disappeared, and reappeared behind you—like the first time you met him. He leaned against your body, and hung his arms over your shoulders, you became fully aware of how close he was to you.
“...Attractive.” He finished, whispering in your ear, then nuzzling in your neck.
Your face burned, and turned tomato red—no, it was an even brighter shade of red. Your heart pounded wildly at his physical touch. It felt both comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time, and you didn’t know what to do. You were so confused about your emotions. A second ago you were frustrated and furious at him, and now you were confused, not knowing how to feel.
It was too strange, and too much, coming from a stranger…
You shoved him away, surprised that you were able to do such a thing, but you were glad you did it, you wanted to be as far away from him as possible. A smug smile appeared on his lips.
Your face still burned as you slowly registered what had happened.
“Don’t get too cocky, I’m only staying there for a short period of time.” You said, hoping it would be true.
“Yea yea, say whatever you want.” He said, turning his back to you.
“Follow me.” He continued.
You did what he said, though another part of you just wanted to stand there. You didn’t want to follow him. You didn’t want to be anywhere near him. It’s too intense for you. But since it was the only hope of going back to your world, you would have to do what he says.
...=``=...
“So...you said something about...uh...something not working on me...when I woke up, what were you referring to?” You forced yourself to speak, still keeping your distance from him as you followed him, still walking on fluffy, lavender clouds.
“Ah, well, it’s nothing, really.” Soranagi replied, but you weren’t convinced.
“Tell me,” You said, wanting to know the answer.
“Please?”
“Do you really want to know?” He asked.
“Yea, why?”
“Well then, give me a kiss, and I’ll tell you.” He answered.
You froze for a second, but then continued to walk.
“You wish.” You spat.
Kissing a cute boy wouldn’t be so bad, but you knew he was someone you probably shouldn’t have a connection to, and probably shouldn’t even be talking to. He was too mysterious, which makes him dangerous. He had a teleporting ability, and he had other abilities too, like that time when his voice echoed off your bedroom walls, which was something that wasn’t normal for a human being, and maybe he wasn’t human.
“Are you human?” You quietly asked, not sure if it was bad manners to say something like that to someone—wait, why did you care? He was the one with bad manners.
“Uh, yes. I am.” Soranagi answered.
“Then how did you do that teleportation thingy?” You asked.
“Ehh, a friend taught me it.”
“Oh”
“How long have I been knocked out?”
“About a month or so.”
Your eyes widened, and you stopped walking.
‘A month? Oh my god, I pray they don’t think that I’m dead.’ you thought.
“What’s up? Don’t you want to see your friends and family again?” He asked, stopping when you stopped and turned to look at you.
“Yea, no, it’s fine, I’m following.”
“Alright then.”
You walked in silence the rest of the way there.
...=``=...
“We’re here!” He exclaimed.
You looked around. There was nothing exciting about the area. It was all the same. The never-ending land of soft, fluffy, lavender clouds, and the gradient red and blue sky.
“What?” You said dumbly.
“I said, we’re here!” He repeated
“I see nothing here.” You said.
Soranagi raised up a hand, and knocked in the air, making strange knocking noises. Like a door, the sky tore open in front of you, except the opening was MASSIVE. There was a spiral of blue, red, and lavender in the “door,” like some kind of portal you’d see in cartoons when they enter another world or realm.
“Pretty impressive, is it? I got this idea from the humans.”
“Why do you keep saying ‘the humans’? Didn’t you say you were a human?” You asked, eyes still glued to the portal-looking thing.
“Okay, yea, Miss. I-Have-Millions-Of-Questions, from now on, every question that you want an answer to, you’ll have to promise me that I’ll be awarded with a kiss.”
“What.” You forced your eyes to look at him, feeling proud that your heart didn’t flutter for the second him.
“You heard me. That’s the only way I’m going to answer your questions from now on.” He repeated.
“No, I heard what you said, I just needed to make sure I heard you right…” You started.
“Why?” You asked
“Oop, I don’t think you heard what I said.” He said.
You rolled your eyes.
“So do you promise?” He asked.
“No, I won’t need any more answers, thank you.” You said, hearing the sprinkle of anger from your words.
“Alright, but if you change your mind, you just call me.” He said.
“Oh yeaaa! Speaking of which! I left my phone on my desk! Could you let me go grab it?” You asked.
“No answers. And definitely no requests.” He said, pointing his index finger up and wiggling it sideways.
You rolled your eyes again.
“Well, I have some business I tend to do. I’ll catch up with you, just walk through this door, and have a great week!” He said.
Before you could protest, he snapped his fingers and disappeared into thin air.
‘Month?’ Were you going to stay in an unknown world for a WEEK?! There could be dangers in that world, and your family and friends would definitely think you were dead by then, and maybe you would. But what could you do? There was no way other than going through the portal. But you didn’t want to go through the portal. That man just abandoned you, and said ‘I’ll be on my way now!’
You should have asked how to call him...wait, you couldn’t.
The thought only made you angier.
You braced yourself for the dangers that lie ahead.
You waited for about another five minutes, to make sure Soranagi wasn’t coming back. Until you confirmed that he wasn’t going to be back anytime soon, you braced yourself and walked through the portal.
