Chapter 1
You were reading Demon Slayer mangas on your fluffy bed. You’ve been reading for hours and hadn’t realized it was morning until you heard chirping outside.
“Ahh...shoot…” You whispered.
You yawned, realizing how tired you were. You tried to rub the sleep from your eyes, but it still didn’t help the tiredness gradually consuming your entire body. Well, it won't hurt to sleep for 20 minutes or so, I still have a lot of time before school starts, you thought, too focused on getting sleep, forgetting to set an alarm.

“Y/n! You’re late for school!” You heard, not sure if you were dreaming or in reality. “Miss (y/n)! You are late for school, and you are still up here sleeping?” You suddenly heard your bedroom door slam open, which made you shoot your eyes open.
It only took you one second to gather what was going on. WHAT TIME IS IT?! You thought, panicking to find that it was 10:17.
“Oh, so now you’re awake?! I should have known” Mom said
“I’m so sorry, mom! I’ll be downstairs in a couple minutes!” You said as you ran to your closet and picked out the first clothes that you saw.
“Whatever, just grab the toast I made for you on your way out the door.” Mom said, heading out the door.
This was certainly not the first time you’ve been late to school, but it didn’t happen often. You were an A student, and aced every single one of your classes.
You ran down stairs, and quickly grabbed belongings. You fled out the door, grabbing the piece of toast on the way.
You didn’t live far from school, so usually, when walking it would take about 20 minutes to get there, and when running, well, the last time you ran to school took about 10 minutes. But you were already late, and you wanted to get there as soon as possible, not a second later, but...that was impossible.
You sprinted towards school, but as you were making your way there, you saw a rather handsome figure in the distance, walking the same path as you. He had butt-length, black hair, and the upper part of his hair was tied into a ponytail, leaving the bottom of his hair down. He had piercing, emerald green eyes, which kind of reminded you of Gojo’s piercing, crystal eyes from Jujutsu Kaisen. He was wearing a plain dark gray jacket with white laces, and loose, light gray shorts, and white sneakers, looking down at the concrete he was walking on.
But you didn’t have time to worry about some man who's probably older than you, considering he wasn’t at school. You turned your focus back to school.
As the figure grew closer, he finally looked up at you, and into your eyes. Your heart did that fluttering thing that hadn’t happened since you were in kindergarten. You missed that feeling, but you also found it quite annoying.
Even though he was looking at you, and your heart did that fluttering thing, that didn’t stop you from sprinting to school.
He continued to stare at you, a smirk forming on the corner of his mouth, which was getting awkward, you forced your eyes to look where you were headed to. You had been running for 6 minutes straight, and you were close to school, about another 2 minutes or 3 and you would be at your destination.
You ran past the man, feeling relieved.
About 6 seconds later, you felt a hand grab your wrist, which made you stop running and start panicking.
“Where are you headed to, darling?” You heard a voice say. The voice belonged to a man. You froze. No, your heart froze. Everything in you froze. Why? You weren't sure. Maybe it was because of fear? Or frustration and anger?
The man laughed. It sounded gentle and sweet, which made you calmer, but there was still that anger and fear that circled around your head.
“So, are you going to answer me?” The man said, releasing your hand.
“Uhm, sir, I’m currently heading to school, and I am late. I’m in a hurry. So please excuse me.” You said, not facing the man, and took off running.
Suddenly, you heard the wind whistle, and a figure suddenly appeared in front of you, causing you to crash into it, and fall to the floor.
“It’s not good manners to go off like that when someone is talking to you.” The same voice who grabbed your hand said, but you barely listened. You were in shock. It was almost as if he teleported. How did he do that? What does he want? The anger, confusion, frustration, and a sprinkle of fear consumed your body.
“What do you want from me?” You asked, sitting up. You looked at his white sneakers, realizing it was that guy whom she passed earlier. Your stomach turned. You refused to look up at his face.
“Hmm, what do I want from you?” He asked, as you stood up, keeping your head down.
“I don’t really want anything from you,” He answered.
You wanted to know why he stopped you, and how he did that teleportation thingy, but you held it back and focused on getting to school.
“Well, in that case, I really need to leave, sir.” You claimed.
“Ah, yes, I see that. But before you leave, here’s a little present from me.” He held out a small white box, about the size of a ring box, and it was decorated with tiny emeralds on the rim.
“Sorry, I can’t. First of all, I don’t even know you, a complete stranger, and now you’re giving me a-”
“That’s not important.” He interrupted.
“Ok, my point is, no thank you, I need to leave, bye.” You said, losing patience. You continued to keep your head down as you went around him, not trusting your actions after looking into his beautiful eyes.
As you were walking away, he grabbed your wrist again, and pulled you into a hug, with both of his arms wrapped around you. Your face in his torso.
This time, you’ve lost your patience, but you could feel your face getting hot with the sudden action.
“So you know that I’m in a hurry, and you’re still wasting my time.” Your voice came out muffled due to the jacket over your mouth.
“Well, I’m the type of person who won’t give up until the other person accepts my offer.” He replied.
“Oh, so now I don’t really have a choice now, do I?” You asked, noticing the hint of anger that slipped out.
“Technically, yes. You don’t really have a choice...why are you late to school in the first place? If you were on time, you wouldn’t have met me.” He stated.
You squirmed under him. “Yes, that’s true. I really wish I never met you. And it’s not your business that I was late to school, you don’t need to know anything. Go bother someone else.” You said, expressing frustration and anger.
“Ouch, that hurt.” He said, hugging tighter.
It finally occurred to you that he won’t leave you alone if you don’t accept his “present”
“Ok! Ok, Ok, Ok, I’ll take the box.” You said, as you stopped moving.
“Wise choice.” He said, and he released you.
You accidentally looked up at his face. His piercing, emerald green eyes stared into yours.
“Here ya go!” He said as he shoved the box in your hands.
“Bye bye, now!” He added with a smile.
Without another word, you ran off, tucking the box in a pocket in your backpack

Once you got to school it was already 11:01, and you got a detention slip for being late to class.
As you walked to your class, you spotted a trash can. The first thought that came to mind was Should I throw the box away?
If you threw it away, and just forget about the whole “running into a mysterious, handsome man” thing, wouldn’t that just be easier? You wouldn’t have to keep thinking about some guy….though some part of you was curious to see what was in the box.
No no no, I’m not that stupid, I’m throwing it away. You thought. You walked towards the trash can, and slipped out the box from your backpack, and lifted it up above the trash can. You were hesitant for a couple seconds, but then dropped the box into the pile of trash.

“Someone looks a little tired.” One of your friends said.
“Yea, I stayed up all night last night, reading the Demon Slayer Manga.” You answered.
“Again with the excuses” Another said, shaking his head.
“What?” You asked.
“Y/n, we aren’t as dumb as you think we are.” A friend walking beside you said.
“I never said that?” You said, confused.
“Y/n, we are just worried about you. You’ve been having those panda eyes for quite a while now, and it gets darker every single day.”
“You guys don’t need to worry about me. I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself.” You said as you tried to give a smile.
They didn’t look at all convinced.
“Whatever you say…” One said.

Once you got home, you ran upstairs. Craving for a nap. You forced yourself to stay awake during the rest of your classes.
You threw your backpack onto the floor, and plopped onto your bed, feeling dizzy from all the events that happened today. There was an exam coming, and you needed to study for it. The teachers prepared everyone in class with loads of homework. Not to mention there was that stranger that came up to you. No, you shouldn’t think or worry about him, and you can’t think about him. There’s no time to worry about him. There’s so much to do, and so little time to manage.
You set an alarm for one hour, and turned on some quiet, relaxing music, before immediately falling asleep.

When you woke up to the sound of the alarm, you realized how much work you needed to do.
You quickly got up from bed, and grabbed your overflowing backpack from the corner of the room.
You pulled out the load of homework and placed it on your desk. As you were nearing the end, you felt something towards the bottom of the backpack that caught your attention. There was a small box, about the size of a ring box, with what felt like little jewelry encrusted on the edges of the box.
You froze.
