No Way Home

Kakashi was used to having eyes on him.

Both Shinobi and Civilians eyes follow him, their whispers and gossip trailing after him. So he's used to having attention on him.

Nothing prepared him for sheer attention that is directed to him when he goes shopping for the first time after he'd arrived in this world and settled in the fortunately available spot in the apartment complex Nagi lived in though.

He was lacking clothes and other essentials, the furniture weren't a problem because Nagi and the landlord had already covered that. It's the clothes and basic essentials he didn't have and Nagi, who knew he needed some new one's, had happily lended him some money and some bigger clothes to use for until he's bought his own.

"Do you have a girlfriend? Can we please have your number?," 4 honest to kami 16 year olds giggled, looking at him with expectant eyes like he'd give away his with their 'cuteness'.

"Sorry but I'm not interested with highschoolers," He excuses himself out of the circle the girls have formed.

It wasn't exactly a lie. Age didn't bother Kakashi, it never had or unless they're under 18. He'd never had a girlfriend or boyfriend before but he's certainly had flings here and there, when he's posing as Sukea.

Serious relationships was never his thing, too afraid of losing more so he kept to himself, and it wasn't like he was interested in anyone.

No one in his own world and certainly not here. Kakashi was a Shinobi and he knew that despite age, people carry a certain maturity in his own world, both civilian and Shinobi.

But 16 year olds here didn't have that. They'd never live a life that would've given them a matured mindset, hadn't live a life that would scar them for the rest of their lives.

16 year olds here are quite literally children for Kakashi. Just because he looks young, it doesn't mean he is young! He's more than thirty with the displeasure of being De-aged back to his 26 year old self.

Not to mention that fact that no one would be able to literally handle Kakashi here. He was a mess of trauma and grief and he'd probably end up breaking someone if he did try to look for a partner. The people here are still too naive and innocent, still unaware of how scary humans can be no matter what they've gone through.

Kakashi continued his stroll in the mall, ignoring the looks on his person, completely opposite of the stares he earned from the very village he served and protected.

He looked around, marvelling at how different the mall was from the shopping center of Konoha. A whole big building with shops inside instead of streets lined with stores of clothing and supplies.

The material of their apparel was also different here. Obviously made for fashion with soft material instead for battle.

It felt foreign, wearing a simple blue fitted turtle neck and grey casual loose trousers, a black combat boots and a black coat over it all that reaches his knees. His mask was still present, connected to the form fitted sleeveless shirt he wore under all his garb.

Kakashi doesn't remember the last time he wore something so casual, something other than his jounin sweats and pants.

Anko would be screeching at him now with Genma and Asuma behind her back, full of sarcastic and dry comments.

Something in Kakashi squeezes painfully at the thought of his comrades.

They were likely dead. Asuma's was confirmed obviously, with the zombie duo from the Akatsuki. Anko and Genma had been in the HQ when the Jyuubi had attacked and no one knew whether they were alived or not.

Something in him, the part that wasn't drowning in grief, clung to the hope of them being alived.

They were friends, annoying and bitchy they may be, they were comrades and family. They maybe not close enough to Kakashi to be considered as Pack but they were family.

Kakashi made peace of never being able get home, painful it was. Nothing in this world suggests the possibility of Dimension Travel, all of it were simply hoax or theories. It is also quite impossible to do so, his entire being would be ripped into shreds when he attempts it and the fact that he survived his first travel was an amazing and nearly impossible feat.

Time and Dimension seals are tricky, one wrong step or a simple mishap could kill him. He had tried of course, he'd tried to modify Hiraishin or use kamui but it always ended up with him low in chakra or feeling like his body had been pulled apart into different directions with the intentions to rip it.

He was lucky that he made it in one piece and had survived through the travel, if he hadn't then his soul would shatter into fragments and scatter in the universe, small little pieces and impossible to find.

He theorised that it was because of Kamui, Rinnegan and both Kaguya's chakra and her chakra rod that he survived. The rod was supposed to suck his chakra away and kill him but Sasuke's rinnegan ability, even if Kakashi hadn't seen him use it, he still felt it, Amenotejikara and Obito's Kamui, probably saved him.

Both of their abilities were connected to space and teleportation to some extent, they used their abilities at Kakashi at the same time, and it either canceled each other out or clashed against each other.

Whatever they did, it sent Kakashi to this strange world. Why? He doesn't know but he's probably dimensions away from his own.

His body and chakra wouldn't have been enough to protect him and that's where his theory of Kaguya's technique reversing comes to effect.

When Kaguya's chakra rod hit his heart, it immediately latched onto his chakra core, sucking his reserves away and would've killed him if it wasn't tampered.

The clashing of both transportation techniques used on him with the desire to move him out of the way caused a tear in reality or his soul, which would explain the snapping feeling he felt before the immense pain, and sucked him away. Kaguya's chakra rod, which came from her and directly connected to her chakra reversed in its effect or his body did.

Instead of drawing out his chakra and giving it to Kaguya, it instead pumped him full of chakra, absorbing the goddesses chakra and giving it to him instead.

Her chakra must've protected him in his travel, even if it was only a little bit and kept him alive.

Without Sasuke's and Obito's technique and Kaguya's chakra, it would be impossible to travel back.

There was no way home and Kakashi had to accept it, even if it was painful.

Kakashi wondered if he still had Kaguya's chakra in him, if he could use it to the same extent as her.

He finds that he doesn't want to know.

Fortunately for his Sanity and mental health that was already crumbling into pieces, he was able to summon Pakkun and the rest of the back, even if it was harder with the weird energy getting in the way.

He definitely would've lost his mind if he was left here alone with no contact left to his own world.

Despite the emptiness the lost of his home left him, he wasn't thoroughly lonely. He had his pack and the Yoshino's.

The mother and son had wormed their way in his heart with their eccentricity and Shenanigans.

Despite the difference in personality, both shared the same passion and sympathy.

Junpei might not be as welcoming and kind as his mother but he's certainly understanding and sympathic. He immediately noticed Kakashi's grief and had done small and domestic things to help him feel better, even if only a little bit.

It was hard not to be attached to the duo.

Kakashi continues his stroll silently, wary of his surroundings and taking random turns to avoid incoming females, and males, who were definitely going to ask for his number.

His hand itches for a book long gone, to hide his face behind the pages of it. He misses his Icha Icha, misses his favourite book.

He sighs quietly, the air filtered by his mask as he shifted his arm that held the 4 bags of clothes he bought.

Who knew walking around and shopping was therapeutic. He has never tried to go shopping before nor has he ever tried to just walk around. He was always either in his home or out in the mission, his mental health and position never allowing him to enjoy such domestic things.

He certainly now understands women's like for going out and shopping, if he gets to walk around like this in peace and buy things.

Loud the mall may be but its certainly a fun place. Hmmm, maybe he should visit the park next time, that would be nice or maybe he could go on a trip on one of the popular hiking sites in japan, just to feel at least a bit home in the forest.

A flash of pink at the corners of his left eye catches his attention and his head snaps to side, his grey eyes wide and throat tightening. His heart lurches and something like painful hope blooms in him before its ruthlessly crushed, leaving him empty.

His eyes land on the spikey locks of pink belonging to a teen, around 15 or 16 year old with two more others. He was arguing with the brown haired girl, a playful grin on his face while the other black haired boy looked like he was ready to sink on the floor and die.

Kakashi's heart squeezes so painfully at the sight of pink hair but it wasn't Sakura. Sakura had straight hair, not spikey. Sakura had jade green eyes that lights up when she's happy or pleased, not honey brown. She had fair skin not tanned.

She was a female and certainly not a boy. She's home, back in Konoha with rest of team 7 and Kakashi is stuck here in an unfamiliar world with no possible way of coming home.

A mournful smile comes to his face, sadness and grief weighing down his heart. Kakashi misses his pack, misses his team, misses his students.

He misses his kohai, he misses Gai, he misses his comrades and their eccentricity, he misses his home.

With a mournful sigh, he looks away and starts walking towards the exit, wanting nothing but to go home and smother himself with his packs scents and his body.

He's sure that Pakkun wouldn't mind him getting cuddled as well as the rest of the pack, even if they said that they didn't like this new world with the sheer negativity in it or the weird murky energy.

He leaves the mall, heart heavy with sad nostalgia and aware of the piercing stare on his back by the black haired teen.

Home is far away and there is nothing he can do to have it back.
