Prologue
1 year. It had been 1 year since they started fighting Kaguya. Almost everyone is dead, only Kakashi, Shikamaru, Hinata, and Naruto remain.
“Shit. The Third Division just got taken out.” Naruto said bitterly at the others.
“Ah, alright.” Kakashi starts, “We need a plan.”
“Yeah.” says Shikamaru.
They are currently hiding out in a cave in the Land of Water, trying to think of a way to defeat Kaguya. Just as Hinata was about to open her mouth to say something, a reanimated Yugao attacks them and kills her.
“HINATA!!” Naruto yells, devastated that the girl he loved just died.
Before anyone else can do anything Shikamaru grabs and burns Hinata’s dead body. When they first fought against Kaguya half of the Allied Shinobi forces died and a quarter of them were reanimated thanks to Black Zetsu and Kabuto.
(Even if the world is ending, it seems like Kabuto will remain evil.)
Since then, they have learned to burn the bodies of the dead. Unfortunately, at times they were not fast enough to do so and that person ended up being reanimated. One of the bad things for Kakashi though is watching the light and smiles of his students fade. He honestly misses seeing their smiles, it was like watching the Uchiha curse take over Sasuke and Obito. When Sasuke died it broke both Naruto and Sakura, but it probably hit Naruto the hardest. Sasuke was a brother-figure to Naruto and after he died, Naruto was no longer the same.
(It was like seeing him change after the death of his father, and the death of Obito. Those two deaths changed Kakashi so much.)
They quickly fled from the cave and ran as fast as they could to a safe place. Naruto put up protective barriers that will last them a couple minutes.
“Guys, I have an idea.” Naruto says, “We can’t save the world right now, but we could go back in time.”
“Time-travel? Is that even possible?” Shikamaru asks.
“I remember Sensei and Kushina-nee trying to make a time-travel seal but failing, they ended up blowing up their kitchen. I think it’s possible.”
Hearing Kakashi say that, a shine of hope appears in Naruto’s eyes.
“I asked Kurama and he said it’s possible. I saw the seal that Tou-san and Kaa-san tried to make, if I could just..” Naruto trailed off and pulled out some parchment paper and started writing on it. After finding out who his parents are, Naruto had taken an interest in seals and starting learning them.
Kakashi hears a loud explosion and debris comes flying at him.
“Naruto! Are you done yet? Kaguya is probably making her over here!” asks Kakashi.
“Almost! Kurama said to do this… and done!”
At that moment Kaguya comes and breaks through the barrier killing Shikamaru and injures the other two.
“Shikamaru!!” Naruto yells, “Ugh, crap.. Kurama’s chakra is low. I can’t heal fast.. Kaka-sensei? A-are you okay? Don’t tell me you're dead too..”
“Argh.. I’m okay Naruto, just a little bit injured.” Kakashi says.
He gets nothing in response.
“K-Kaka-sensei.. I don’t think I have much longer… Grab the seal and bring it here..” Oh. Not Naruto too..
Kakashi grabs the seal and walks over to Naruto.
“I’ll add mine and Kurama’s chakra, Kurama should transfer to you. He will be your guide..”
“W-what? How about you?” Kakashi asks, tears are gathering at the corners of his eyes.
“I’ll die, but you save the world, got it? Save the world for us..” Naruto says.
Then white surrounds him.
He swears he hears, a ‘Thank you for everything Kaka-sensei.. Save the world.’ before his vision blurs and everything turns black as he goes unconscious.
