Chapter 1

Sakura rushed to the bathroom the moment she started feeling nauseous. The whole week she had been making trips to the bathroom to dump her breakfast. She checked for colds, poison, ulcers...nothing. She was starting to get sick, pun unintended, of this. However as she puked her guts in the toilet, she realized something. Her period hadn't come yet this month.

Rising from the bathroom, the pinkette rinsed her mouth with some water before getting dressed and running to the hospital. She knew how to do the checkup herself, but she wanted to be sure. Reaching the Konoha Hospital, the pinkette ran in and asked to see the first free gynecologist. The woman at the reception looked like her eyes might pop out of her skull when she heard and immediately looked to see who was free.

"Dr. Hazuki Seikatsu is free right now, Sakura-sama. You can go see her now." said the woman.

Sakura barely remembered to utter a thanks before running to the gynecology wing. She knocked on the door of her office asked the woman to do a chakra scan. Hazuki nodded and told Sakura to take a seat on the hospital bed. Dr. Seikatsu ran her green hand on her belly as her chakra entered Sakura's system. After a few minutes, that felt like hours to Sakura, the doctor pulled her hand back and smiled at the pinkette.

"Well, congratulations are in order, Sakura-sama. You are 8 weeks in." said Dr. Seikatsu.

"I'm pregnant? I'm going to have a baby?" asked Sakura.

"Yes Sakura-sama, you are pregnant. Again I offer my congratulations. I'd say your due date is in march. I want you to come for a checkup next month. Now here are some things you should know, during your second and third month, you may experience nausea, mood swings, extreme fatigue..." but Sakura wasn't really listening anymore. She was too busy being excited. Oh she can't wait to tell Sasuke once he comes back from his mission this week.

...

A few days later, Sasuke returned home from his mission. Early September air ruffled his hair and blew his cape behind him as he returned from the Hokage's office. Tobirama and Izuna were acting extremely suspicious as they sent him home. He asked them if something happened to Sakura but Tobirama just waved him off. He entered his house in the Uchiha compound and took off his shoes at the entrance.

"Tsuma, I'm home." said Sasuke. However when he received no response he got worried. It was a Sunday and his wife was always home on Sundays. "Sakura?"

He walked in the living room and found the pinkette asleep on the couch. Her knitting kit was opened on the kotatsu table and in her lap her knitting needles lay forgotten. He smiled softly as he approached her but what he saw made him freeze. Laying in her lap was a half knitted pair of socks. Socks too small to fit any any adult.

He took a seat next to his sleeping wife and stared at the baby socks in shock. They were a simple red color with small Uchiha fans sewn on the sides. He took one of them and ran his fingers over them, realizing what it meant. Next to him, Sakura began stirring from her sleep. She whispered his name when she realized he was home.

"You're pregnant..." said Sasuke, his voice holding so much emotion. "With my child...You're..."

Sakura smiled at him tenderly and cupped his cheek softly. "I am. I had morning sickness this whole week and went to the hospital to get it checked out. I'm 8 weeks in."

Sasuke put his arm around Sakura and brought her close. He buried his head in the crook of her neck as he hugged her tight.

"Thank you...thank you so much for this gift. Thank you..."

Sakura just held him and pet his hair softly as he continued thanking her. And if a few tears slipped down his cheek, nobody needed to know.

...

It was Sakura's third month of pregnancy. Her belly had just started to swell and the pinkette was absolutely ecstatic. She went shopping with Mito last week and bought the cutest dresses for the last trimester. In fact she was wearing one right now. It was a long, pale green dress with short sleeves and a cute floral pattern. Her crimson haori crashed terribly against it but she didn't care. It was keeping her warm so that was all that mattered.

The pinkette was knitting again. She worked on a yellow beanie with brown spots, making it look like a giraffe. She thought it was beyond adorable and gender neutral enough since she didn't know if it was a boy or a girl. Secretly though, Sakura was hoping for a girl. She wanted to have a daughter to dress in all the cute pretty, frilly dresses that existed. Sasuke didn't really care for the gender, he was just happy to be a father.

Speaking of Sasuke, he was just as ecstatic as his wife. On his last mission he stopped in the Capital, Ōujisama, and bought an adorable crib mobile with small wooden stars, moons and suns. Sakura almost cried when she saw it. They hadn't set up the nursery yet, waiting to find the baby's gender first but she knew the crib mobile will be one of the first things they will set up.

Another thing they hadn't really spoken much about was the name. But they did have a funny conversation about it yesterday during breakfast.

"If it's a boy, do you wanna name him Naruto?" said Sakura as a joke.

Sasuke snorted. "Depends, if it's a girl, will you name her Ino?" Sakura just laughed and playfully glared at him. "Yeah, didn't think so either."

...

Months later, on a cold November night, Sasuke found himself knocking on the door of the main house in the Senju compound. Rain made his hair clung to his skin as he shivered in the wind. A few minutes later, Tobirama opened the door with a smirk.

"Did you get kicked out again?" asked the white haired man.

Sasuke sighed. "We had an argument and she send me to the cabin, but the roof caved in. Will you let me stay here?"

Tobirama chuckled at his misfortune but let him inside. The raven haired man took off his shoes and hanged his cape in the coat rack before Izuna, who was at the Senju compound more often than not, came to laugh at him before throwing a pair of warm clothes at his face. He changed in a pair of hakama pants and a loose, long sleeved shirt before joining Tobirama and Izuna at the kotatsu table.

"You should count yourself lucky Mito-san is already asleep. She would have sent you to sleep in the rain if she saw you." said Izuna.

"Shut up Izuna."

...

On the 31st of March, Sakura's water broke while she was in the shower. She screamed at Sasuke to get her a pair of clothes before setting out for the hospital. The Uchiha took the first dress (that fit her) he found in their closet before Susanoo flying to the hospital. After that he left his wife in the care of the nurses as he waited outside her hospital room. A few hours later Mito, Tobirama, Izuna and their teams showed up. Koharu took a seat next to Sasuke's tense form and held her sensei's hand.

"Lighten up sensei, you're about to be a father." said Hiruzen.

"I am aware Hiruzen, thank you." said Sasuke dryly.

"Ah, ignore him Saru-chan. He's just his usual brooding self." said Izuna.

"Oh, I'm so excited. I can't wait to meet the baby. You said it was a girl, right?" said Kagami.

Sasuke nodded.

"Have you thought of a name, sensei?" asked Homura.

"Sarada. It is a combination between my name, Sakura's name and my brother's." said Sasuke.

"It's a beautiful name." said Mito.

Danzo muttered something that sounded like "it sounds like salad" but Izuna whacked him over the head. They all stood in the hallway for the following hours making small talk before the contractions started. And with them so did Sakura's screams...and curses...lots of curses.

"GOD FUCKING DAMN IT SASUKE! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT I'M IN SO MUCH PAIN! LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO ME YOU ASSHOLE!" shrieked Sakura.

Sasuke sweatdropped as he listened to his wife curse his name.

"Good luck." said Izuna.

"I don't think I ever heard Sakura-sama curse this much before." said Torifu.

"FUCK, IT HUUURTS! I SHOULD HAVE LET YOU BLEED TO DEATH WHEN YOU LOST THAT ARM! SCREW YOU YOU MYTHIC BIT- SHIT!"  shrieked Sakura before getting interrupted by another contraction. "WHEN THIS IS ALL OVER I'M COMING FOR YOUR DICK UCHIHA AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY!"

"Its ok sensei, I don't think Sakura-sama means it." said Koharu.

"No I think she does." added Izuna unhelpfully.

...

After more hours filled with screams, time in which the no-longer-genin learned a lot of new words, a baby's cry was heard. Sasuke immediately jolted from his seat when a nurse opened the door. She told him that both his wife and daughter were ok before letting him enter the room. He all but ran inside to meet his child.

Inside he found his wife sitting in her hospital bed, sweat clung to her forehead and she had dark circles around her eyes. She was a mess, but to Sasuke she never looked more beautiful. In her arms was a pink bundle that she rocked gently. Sasuke approached the two of them and took a seat at the side of the bed. He brushed Sakura's pink locks from her forehead before gazing at his daughter. She had pink skin and the slightest bit of black hair peeked from the pink cloth she was wrapped around.

"She's beautiful." said Sasuke. "Thank you. Thank you so much for this...for her." He kissed his wife's temples softly. "I love you. Both you and her."

Sakura smiled softly at him. "I love you too Anata...Do you wanna hold her?"

"I...yes." his voice held so much emotion as he looked at Sarada. "I would like to hold her."

He bent down and allowed Sakura to gently lay his daughter in his arm, placing her tiny head in the crook of his arm. He straightened his back and looked at his child with a gaze filled with so much love. Sasuke briefly activated his sharingan and burned this moment to his memory. Just when he thought he couldn't be happier, Sarada opened her eyes. Small black orbs gazed back at him in silent wonder. A few tears slipped down the Uchiha's eye before he brought their foreheads together.

"I promise, I'll protect you till my dying breath." said Sasuke with a trembling voice. Sakura smiled at her husband and daughter. She was so happy to have finally brought this little light into the world.

A few minutes later, a shy knock on the door echoed in the room. Sasuke realized it was Koharu from the chakra signature and told her she can come in. Slowly, his team, Mito and Kagami entered the room. They all circled the bed as they stared at the baby in wonder. Koharu and Mito cooed softly at Sarada and Izuna exitedly made funny faces at the baby from behind Mito.

"Can I hold her sensei?" asked Koharu. Sasuke nodded and passed his daughter. Mito instructed her to lean back and positioned her arms before allowing Koharu to finally hold the baby. Koharu looked close to crying as she stared at the little girl in front of her. "She's so cute. Hi there Sarada-chan, my name's Koharu. Nice to meet you. I'm sure we'll be the best of friends in the future."

Danzo muttered that she looks like a wrinkled potato, which prompted Sakura to kick him in the knee. The boy apologized to the glaring woman before slightly hiding behind Tobirama. The white haired man gave his student a disapproving look before asking Sakura how she was feeling.

The new mother snorted. "Like I just shoved a small melon out of my body."

"Fair enough." said Tobirama.

"Koharu-chan stop hoarding the baby to yourself." said Kagami. "I wanna hold her too."

"Wait, I wanna hold her too." said Torifu.

"I as well!" said Hiruzen.

"My daughter is not an object to be passed around." said Sasuke. This made Sakura burst out laughing as she looked at the occupants of the room. It might not be team 7 but they were her family as well.

...

Three days later Sakura and Sarada were released from the hospital. They returned to the Uchiha compound, ready to welcome their child into her new house. After she opened the door, Sakura looked at the baby in her arms before smiling softly.

”Welcome home, Sarada.” said the pinkette.

The small family entered their home walked towards the nursery. It was a room painted light yellow with a crib, a rocking chair next to it and a chest filled with toys. The crib had been a gift from the clan head, it was made of oak wood and painted white with small oak leaves engraved in the frame work. The silk sheets were a gift from Mito, a light purple color with small white flowers. A fluffy white kitten waited for the baby in the crib, gifted from Koharu. The rocking chair and chest were a gift from Tobirama and Izuna, the framework was also white, but the pillows of the chair were a light yellow. And of course, Sasuke's crib mobile was put above the crib, with the small stars, moons and suns hanging down. A small dream catcher was nailed on the wall above the crib, gifted from Hiruzen and Homura.

The pinkette laid her daughter in the crib before changing the baby in a small cute white and blue onesie that resembled Lady Katsuyu. The slug summon looked like it wanted to cry when she saw it the first time. After this Sasuke and Sakura just stood at the side of the bed and gazed at their daughter.

”Look at her Sasuke. We made this tiny miracle.” said Sakura.

”Yeah...” said Sasuke before putting his arm around his wife. ”And we'll take care of her. Together.”
