In the parking lot
The car stopped.
Itachi climbed out and immediately went right back in to get his glasses, then went back out once he had shoved them on. Naruto was already bouncing on the balls of his feet, looking extremely excited for this trip. Sasuke was texting right next to him.
Kisame locked the car, and they waited a while for the others to arrive. While waiting, Naruto somehow convinced Sasuke to stop texting and actually talk.
“Have you been here before?”
“Only once, with my dad! We actually got kinda lost, but we made it! Didn’t buy anything, though.”
“At least you’ve been here before, stupid. I haven’t been here because my brother’s too lazy to take me.”
“Or you just didn’t ask-”
“Shut it-”
“Admit I’m right!”
“Goddamnit…fine.”
“HAHA! I’m right, dattebayo!”
“Changing the subject before you get too prideful...What does the inside look like?”
“If I told you then that would be ruining the surprise!”
“Urgh- well is there a food court? I’m starving.”
“BeCaUsE yOu aLwAYs skIp bReAkFaSt.”
“You shush.”
“Only because I like you.”
“SHUT-”
While Sasuke was trying to strangle Naruto, Kisame and Itachi had their routine banter, but a bit cheesier.
“It sure is a beautiful day today. Almost as pretty as you, ‘Tachi.”
“I was gonna say that! Oh well, I’m sure I’ll find a prettier day to compliment you on.”
“And this is why I love you.”
“Right back at you.”
“And Naruto and Sasuke are having an argument.”
“Shouldn’t you be used to that?”
“Haha- I forgot. Living with Deidara and Hidan-”
“-means every single day there is a screaming match-”
“-with swearing!”
“My ears are used to screaming in the morning that it feels so weird waking up without it.”
“We are on vacation, enjoy it while you can.”
“And after that, back to studying and screaming.”
“With you.”
“How would I stay sane without you?”
“I honestly don’t know!”
Itachi laughed.
“Same.”
Sasori pulled up right next to Kisame’s car, and Deidara and him stepped out, eyes squinted in the sunlight. They quickly adjusted to the brightness, though.
“You guys are fast.” Deidara huffed, looking a bit upset.
“It isn’t a race, Dei.” Sasori muttered, looking the other way.
“Hmpf.” Deidara looked like he had a billion things to say but decided against it.
Kisame laughed.
“It’s all in the engines, Boom-boom boy.”
“HEY! THAT IS A TERRIBLE NICKNAME-”
“It fits how immature you are.” deadpanned Itachi, who regretted it, as his relationship with Deidara was bad enough.
“You shut up!” Deidara growled.
Kisame patted the blonde’s head.
“Kid, calm down.”
Sasori glanced at Deidara, who was currently angrily muttering to himself.
“Deidara, have you ever been here before?”
Deidara turned around, startled.
“Eh? Oh-Nope! But I have heard about some clay statues there!”
“Any puppets there?”
“I hope! But don’t get too disappointed if there isn’t any!”
“Eh…”
“I heard there’s an underground place too!”
“Underground?”
“Wait no-not underground, just like- the last layer.”
“Ikea has layers?!”
“Nonono- so like, there’s the top layer, where there’s like all the useful stuff, like kitchen things, and chairs, tables, kid stuff, bedrooms, living rooms, and the food court. Then the middle part is where you find places, like the top or the bottom. And the bottom is where you go after you finish the top. And I’m not too familiar with the bottom, so I guess we’ll see!”
“Thanks for the monologue.”
“HAHA-”
Sasori half smiled.
A loud horn honking signaled the Ame Trio’s arrival. Nagato looked relieved to finally get out of the car, where Itachi was sure he was third wheeling. Confirming this were Yahiko and Konan coming out of the car holding hands.
“And here comes the trio of fun and endless happiness!”
Behind them, Sasuke and Naruto burst into laughter, clearly understanding the joke. Itachi had a light smile on his face, but Deidara and Sasori stood there, extremely confused.
Nagato thumped Kisame on the back gently.
“Is the nickname just because of that one time we went out?”
“Wine does some strange things to the mind.”
“Agreed.”
Nagato shook his head.
“Can we go now? I don’t want all of you third wheeling Konan and Yahiko. Only I’m allowed to do that.”
Sasori let out an audible snort.
Itachi started to say something then immediately had a coughing fit. Kisame patted him on the back.
Finally finishing his coughing fit, Itachi straightened up(GET IT).
“We’re still waiting for the Always Late duo.”
Deidara and Sasori both chuckled at that- they knew how Hidan and Kakuzu were usually extremely late.
“Although they do have a child with them.” Yahiko said. He and Konan were hopefully done doing whatever they were doing.
“True true-”
What Nagato was going to reply was drowned out by the sound of stomping feet.
“HI!!” Fuu shouted, from the top of Chomei.
Itachi looked at Sasuke and then back at Fuu.
‘I wish Sasuke would be as cheerful as Fuu…maybe he’ll be happier and less emo.’
Smoke wafted over them as Fuu despawned Chomei and dragged Kakuzu and Hidan over.
“Sorry we were late! Again!”
Sasori ruffled her hair.
“You're fine, Minty.”
Sasori and Fuu had a special bond that no one could understand. It was a bit like a big brother and a little sister.
Fuu was now spewing out words so fast it was a wonder Sasori could even respond to her. Itachi couldn’t decipher one single thing so he ended up listening to the Zombie Duo arguing about- he didn’t even want to know…
“So setting the kitchen on fire is fun for a kid?”
“Well she doesn’t seem affected by that!”
“Still.”
“Don’t be so FUCKING aNnOyEd and sTiRcT about literally everything!”
“Then don’t be recklessly stupid.”
“Thanks for the compliment!”
“You're welcome.”
“AND KISS!”
Both of them started as Deidara smirked, evidently recording the conversation.
Hidan started throwing curses at the blonde, so Nagato cleared his throat.
“Well, everyone’s here, so let’s go in.”
Itachi then just remembered about Obito.
“Wait, what about Tobi? And Zetsu? And the rest of the gang with Tobi?”
Yahiko waved his hand.
“They're probably already here, because I asked Zetsu about it and he said they were on their way at ten, when we were still waiting for everyone to come.”
“Oh…” Itachi trailed off.
Sasuke then butted in.
“Are Sakura and Ino coming?”
Konan made a sad face.
“Unfortunately, yes.”
Sasuke groaned.
Naruto shook his head.
“Hopefully Sakura-chan isn’t too annoying!”
“CAN WE GO NOW??”
Deidara screeched.
Sasori facepalmed but awkwardly nodded his head.
Hidan and Deidara started running to the doors
Fuu ran to the escalators.
Everyone ran after her.
