The rain fell heavily as 4 figures ran over trees. Three ANBU followed a pink haired figure. Their destination, Amegakure. They jumped from tree to tree in the dark on the night.
As one of the founders, Sakura has special permission from the Hokages to draft and assign missions. The pinkette usually left the mission sorting to the council and the Hokages. She wasn't one to abuse her position, but sometimes she needed to act without having to wait for the Sandaimes' approval. Like today when she took a team of ANBU and left for Ame to kill Hanzō.
The pinkette doesn't know exactly when Yahiko dies, but she knows it's during the Third Shinobi War. She cannot allow the Akatsuki to turn evil again. So she gathered 3 trustworthy ANBU and left for the Land of Storm.
Sakura isn't a fool, she knows her fighting style isn't suited for silent assasinations. She needed people who can take out Hanzō's cronies without attracting attention. This is why she picked the best people for the job. First, she picked Sakumo, her student. Konoha's White Fang was terrifying on his own right, but his speed and Kenjutsu made him a perfect assassin. Second, she chose Orochimaru. Having one of the Sannin is very helpful as they already know the Ame terrain thanks to their last battle with the Salamander. But Orochimaru specifically was perfect for the job as they are an infiltration master. And lastly, Mikoto. Mikoto quickly rose through ANBU ranks and became a captain with the break of the third war. She was swift, silent and ruthless. Perfect for this mission.
They reached Ame relatively quickly and took to the roofs. They jumped from building to building until the found Hanzō's home. A huge mansion overlooking the village from the outskirts. It was heavily guarded around the clock by Ame shinobi loyal to Hanzō.
They split up. Mikoto and Sakumo dealt with all of the guards outside while Orochimaru and Sakura slipped in. She trusted the two of them to completely wipe out the henchmen while they dealt with Hanzō.
Orochimaru took Sakura's hand and used the Hiding in Surface Technique to make them phase through the ground. They walked underground until they were under the mansion. Once they found a large empty area they emerged from the floor and made their way towards Hanzō's chakra signature. Any guards they encountered on the way, Sakura and Orochimaru dealt with swiftly. There was a close call where a guard tried to call for help, but Sakura threw a senbon at the pressure point in his neck and made him collapse before Orochimaru slit his throat.

Hanzō was working in his office. He read one of the reports from his spies that talked about the Akatsuki. Those stupid orphans created an organization that was a threat to his authority. He cannot allow them to continue. He started devising a plan to get rid of them when he heard to pained grunts and the sound of bodies hitting the floor. Hanzō rose from his chair to check it out when the door to his office opened.
All of the blood drained from his face as the Cherry Death, Sakura Uchiha herself, entered his office. Her black heels clicked on the floor as she walked. Behind her stood an ANBU guard with a dragon mask. Their chakra signature seemed familiar, but Hanzō couldn't put his finger on it. The Salamander gulped as he looked at the woman. The Cherry Death was notorious all over the nations. They said she cheated death multiple times on the battlefield. She was one of the first Konoha shinobi to get a flee on sight order for Sage's sake. Now Hanzō knew he was powerful, one doesn't govern a hidden village without being strong. But even he couldn't go against someone like her. He knew death was approaching, but he hoped he could weasel himself out of this one.
"Well, well, well. Hello there Hanzō-san. Doing some late night paperwork? That's such hard work. Perhaps we could help you." said Sakura.
"Uh, no, no...it's fine Uchiha-sama. I can manage....Uh, look I don't know what kind of pathetic rumor is floating around Konoha, but I'm sure it's simply a misunderstanding. Perhaps we can discuss it over te-" Hanzō didn't get to finish as Sakura's foot connected to his face and broke his nose.
"Listen carefully you piece of horse shit, we didn't come here so you can tell us a story, we already know everything we need." Sakura walked forward and took a vial from her pocket. "Here's how it's gonna go, you can either swallow this vial of poison and take a painless death or you can try to escape and get sent back to your family with a bow made of your insides. The choice is yours."

Hanzō chose to run, obviously. He threw a kunai that Sakura caught between two fingers before using a smoke bomb to try and run. Orochimaru immediately send multiple snakes after him that he cut with a tanto before the salamander broke his own window and jumped out. He didn't get very far, as right outside Mikoto and Sakumo were waiting for him. They immediately engaged in hand to hand combat before Hanzō made the mistake to look into Mikoto's red eyes. She put him into a genjutsu that made him freeze before slitting his throat.
Sakura and Orochimaru jumped down from the window before checking Hanzō's corpse. After making sure he was dead, Sakura rose before addressing her team.
”You know part of me wished he took the poison, it would have made things less messy.” said Sakura.
”I think we already made a big mess enough when we killed all of his guards, Sakura-taichō.” said Sakumo.
”Fair enough I suppose. Let's get out of here.” They all shunshined out of Hanzō's mansion before making the journey back home. Sakura just hopped the Akatsuki would survive the upcoming civil war of Ame.
(A\N: Sorry that this story is shorter than usual, I am currently focusing on making the fics for Founders Week 2021. But I didn't want to leave you guys without an update. So yeah...
