Tobirama the explorer
Tobirama stared at the things Tenshi got for him after the paperwork incident. He immediately ditched them and decided he'd explore the house instead.
Besides, he would've finished the puzzle book quickly, and he could distinctly remember reading the other one before. He wasn't in much of a mood to draw something either, and he was sure Tenshi would have his head, sick or not, if he found him drawing seals.
And today was perfect, since Tenshi already told him he'd be busy, so exploration it is. He'd get scolded for straining himself, but he tires of the same scenery. The only reason he hadn't moved sooner was because he was physically unable to.
Now, he sucked up his dizziness, hoped he didn't vomit, and set to explore the house.
The hallways didn't have much of a personal touch and he hadn't expected them to. He opened some of the doors on random, mostly finding storage rooms and guest rooms or empty rooms, but stopping occasionally when he found one that interested him.
The first one was the kitchen. Opening one of the cabinets revealed several sacks of sugar and flour, enough for one to raise an eyebrow. Opening another cabinet, he found himself staring at something unexpected.
"... Kagami?"
Kagami flinched, quickly turning around with a face full of powdered sugar and entirely too little guilt for having been discovered stealing. He grinned when he saw Tobirama was the one who caught him, not Tenshi.
"Sensei! Thought you were the grumpy man for a sec-"
Tobirama was amused at Kagami's description of Tenshi, one he'd heard before. Still, he supposed he couldn't let him ramble away his questions. He had a feeling he'd done that before.
"What are you doing here? Besides stealing Tenshi's sweets, that is."
Kagami's nose scrunched up at the name and he looked forlornly at the empty container of sweets he'd just finished, as if he wished he could have more to undoubtedly let the following sugar rush destroy his brain.
Tobirama deadpaned and raised a questioning eyebrow, but his lips were still slightly upturned.
"I was hungry."
Tobirama continued raising his eyebrow. Kagami cracked.
"It's not my fault his sweets are amazing! For being made by such a mean man, the sweets are delicious."
Tobirama let the eyebrow fall down, standing up from where he'd crouched and letting an amused grin spread on his face. Kagami quickly got out of the cupboard, stretching his limbs. Tobirama contemplated asking how Kagami got in, but then... Eh.
"Want to be my guide?"
Kagami perked up immediately, immediately scrambling to one of the nearby storage rooms to get a flag. How many times had he already sneaked into here?
"Right-o! Mr. Grumpy is in the middle of a clan meeting right now, so we have free reign of the house for the next..."
He opened another room with a window.
"... three to five hours! Depends on if the Hyuuga decide to pick a fight again with the Uchiha, never put two bastards with a stick up their ass in the same room if they aren't from the same clan. Well then- first destination, the garden! The second one, not the one by your room. Mr. Grumpy has three for some reason."
Kagami cheerily guided Tobirama for the rest of their free time through the house, the garden, Tenshi's office and room, a weapon storage with a hidden door they were obviously not supposed to open but were still very tempted to, a hot spring esque bath that looked to be maintaining its temperature via a seal that Tobirama was very much going to recreate later, the heck Tenshi, he has to wipe himself down with towels and then Tenshi gets to enjoy such a beautiful bath?
And various other rooms. Most of them were empty and storage rooms, like the result of Tobirama's initial exploration without Kagami, but they had fun. By the end, they'd stolen some rice balls from the kitchen and eaten them in the garden by the pond.
They'd enjoyed them in silence till a shout rang through the house. It was a very familiar voice. Kagami immediately took that as a cue to leave. Tobirama continued casually eating his rice ball, wondering if he'd end up vomiting it later.
Honestly, he could the urge go lower and lower with each day, as present as it was. It was to be expected, since it'd been a while now since he'd woken up to hands on his eyes and an urge to curse the sun.
The door to the garden opened.
Tobirama pushed away all thoughts of the future and the strange constricting feeling that came with them, one that tasted of bitterness and slight despair, and beamed at a fuming Tenshi.
(Well, fuming would be putting it lightly.)
"Guess the Hyuuga decided to pick a fight?"
It had been more than four hours, after all.
