Flowers, flowers 1
Scraps's arms are full. She's carrying two sets of crayons, a sheaf of paper, and other art supplies. Plus, a small flower in her tail cup, which she holds aloft carefully. She hums as she walks.
The library's front desk is empty.
Scraps leans over as much as her burden allows, puzzled. It's the library, though, so she can't shout or call out.
"Hello?" she whispers extra loudly instead. "Brightney? Are you back there?"
A shuffling noise. Then, from a doorway behind the counter, the town librarian appears.
Brightney pushes up her glasses and hurries to the counter. "Hi!" she whispers.
"Hi!" Scraps says, fighting to keep her tail still. "Can I come in?"
"Of course!" Brightney puts up the counter divider so Scraps can go behind it. She leads her to the back room.
Here, it's even harder to move. Stacks of papers and supplies litter the floor. Brightney takes part of her load, though, so they make it to the center safely, where giant pieces of poster paper lie spread out on the floor.
Brightney kneels. Scraps follows suit. They put the art supplies down.
Brightney seems excited. She fidgets a little, wearing a nerdy little smile and pushing up her glasses a lot. "Okay, so, this is a list of all the scripts and writing that will be on the posters." She shows Scraps a long sheet of paper. "Do you think you could draw something to go along with them?"
"Yeah, I think so." Scraps carefully tucks her tail by her side and produces the flower with a small grin. "Look."
It's a single, beautiful red tulip.
"Oh! That's lovely," Brightney gasps. She reaches out to give its petals a brief, gentle touch. Her smile grows wider, but she adds, "Um...I think you should keep it in your cup! I'm not sure where to put it at the moment."
"Oh, yeah." Scraps laughs and puts the flower back in her tail cup. "Alright, back to work." She grins at Brightney.
The librarian clasps her hands together in excitement. "Yep! Let's make some posters!"
