Secret Marriage (Pt. 5)
Touka was the first to figure it out… sort of.
"Oh my kami…. You guys have actually been courting each other?!" Ichiro looked at her, still confused.
"Touka, my cousin said he's had that fan for years. If they were courting, the marriage would have happened by this point." It was said with a 'duh' tone to support her point.
"The seal on his wrist too. My Aniki has been storing his Gunbai in it for just as many years."
Hashirama was the one to walk up to them, tears in his eyes.
"Three years. A celebration created together with a show of loyalty to the other." He clasped his hands together and brought it close to his chest.
"My dear outoto, you grew up and got married and I was too blind to even notice." A tear fell from the older's eyes as Hashirama hugged his brother. But not the body crushing kind he usually gave. This one was firm but gentle. Like he was trying to show all of the love and support he wished he had given sooner.
"Anija… you are… not mad?" Why did he think Hashirama would be mad? Hmm, something to ask later.
"Mad? Far from it! You found safety and strength in a way I could never give you. Hashirama pulled away from the hug slightly to look at his brother once more. "Someone was there when I failed to be. I told you all I want is for you to be happy, otouto. No, I am grateful." He turned his head to Madara. "Thank you old friend." He said, reaching out to grab the other man's shoulder and squeeze gently. He then stepped back to give them some room once more.
"No way." Izuna said, stomping over.
"No fucking way you two got married and no one knew."
"Kagami did."
"Both of our squads really."
"Those little ankle biters knew?!"
"Someone had to be a witness. Hashirama signed the paperwork too."
"I did?!"
"Was amongst the stack of different treaty drafts for various clans."
"That's dirty and underhanded Tobi. You know for a fact Hashi would sign any treaty you gave him if it meant more clans would join the village." Touka said accusingly at her cousin, whose face had gone back to his neutral one. One that Madara knew he reverted too when he was unsure of a situation and needed to look unfazed.
"As happy as I am, she's right. You always read the treaties before you give them to me."
"It is not my fault you do not read them before you sign them."
"Ainki, how could you marry my rival and not tell me?!"
"How? Well, you were an ass and teased us every time we had a date."
"Those were work dinners!"
"I have always been good at multitasking Izuna." Tobirama said with a smirk. "Though you luckily never walked in on the more interesting ones we had."
"Yeah no, we could ever explain that away." The two started chuckling harder as Izuna squawked at the implication and face going red. This prank was so worth it.
