Summary
All it takes to change one’s fate is a singular different action than the one they would’ve taken that would lead them down a differing path. For Nohara Rin, the young and aspiring medic-nin who sacrificed her life at the hands of her once teammate Hatake Kakashi, it changed a lot. She gave her life to keep the Three tails away from her home, her village. She saw it as her duty as a kunoichi of Konohagakure. Unknowingly however, her actions would stir a conflict and be the very thing that would drop the very boy she believed lost into the hands of a madman. Her loss affected more than she could know. But her story is not over, no, it has begun once more. For she has been given another chance, a strange one but not wholly unwelcome as it were. The summary is the same as the first chapter. I will set a consistent update schedule soon.**NOT ABANDONED JUST HAVING A HARD TIME FIGURING THIS STORYLINE OUT***Sorry :-[

Chapter 3

There was confusion upon first awakening. For she was sure that she should not be alive and yet for some reason she was. Her last memories full of regret and despair for what she had been forced to make kakashi do.

Why…why was she alive for she surely remembered being rammed through the chest with his Chidori.

Wait.. who was Kakashi? Why did she remember someone she had never met before?

She couldn’t tell what was what and had so many memories that were not making sense for they were not her own and yet at the same time were. It was making her head hurt.

She opened her eyes to a blindingly white ceiling and as she squinted her eyes trying to get adjusted to the view she heard a slight cough off to the side.

Quickly turning her head she was met with a slightly familiar yet confusing sight. The Sandaime was sat by her bedside looking at her with a slightly concerned look. His eyes held worry and other emotions she could not identify. But.. he was not as she remembered. He was older. Definitely older than last she saw him and yet at the same time, not. For she had other memories of him with his more recent aging than what she recalled.

Why did she have memories not her own? What was going on?!

“Naruto.. are you alright?” “Can you tell me if anything hurts?”

“Homage-sama..I.. what…” that was not her voice. That was so clearly not her voice. But it was.

The Sandaime noted her confusion and decided to alert the medic on duty that she was awake. It was hard for her to grasp what was going on. She was trying to piece together what had happened and so far it was not a pretty picture.

After alerting the medic he resumed his position by her side and looked at her in the eyes. His gaze full of worry.

“Naruto.. do you remember what happened?” he asked.

“My… my name isn’t Naruto Hokage-sama, why are you calling me that? What’s going on?”

His look of shock and worry only made her feel uneasy. Did she say something wrong? Naruto wasn’t her name but wait- it was her name! That was who she was called! Her one birthright that she cherished so much! Why did she deny her own name?!

Too much was happening and she couldn’t understand it. This is when the Medic finally stepped in the room and all she could do was think to herself that something was wrong. Something was oh so terribly wrong. She needed her sensei, she needed someone who could tell her just what was happening to her!

The medic walked over to where she lay and looked at her with a slightly worried but compassionate stare.
“Uzumaki-San, my name is Hikari. Can I come closer?”

I couldn’t take it anymore. I needed to know what was going on. Why did they keep calling me a name that was mine yet also not.

“Why…are you calling me that, the only Uzumaki I know is Kushina-San. I’m not an Uzumaki. My name is Rin!”
