Note
Sorry if this is bad, I just thought about it and I just can’t not make it -w-

Koru is speechless. He couldn’t believe what the man in front of him was saying. “Are you sure about this?”

“I am sure. I only want what’s best for my clansmen, not just my clan as a whole. He’s already fond of you and I’m sure that you’d be suitable for the job.”

Koru was not expecting this. He was expecting the man to be arrogant and strict. His face softness, thinking about the entire conversation. “It seems even the coldest people have a soft spot in their hearts,” he thought.

“So do you accept the job?”

“I do”

Obito didn’t know what Koru wanted. He was nervous. Why did Koru want him to come to his apartment? Did something happen? Did Koru not want to teach him anymore?

“Koru wanted you to come over. Seems important what he wants to say. I’ll leave you two be.”

That message he got from Guren kept replaying in his mind even without the use of the Sharingan. What did Koru want to talk to him about? Obito snapped back to reality after he looked up, already in front of Koru’s door. Although he knows it’s pointless, Obito tries to calm down. Nervously, he holds his hand up to knock on the door.

A faint, “Come in!” came from inside. Obito tries to not show his nervousness and opens the door. Inside, he sees Koru sitting on a chair. There was another chair across him. Koru’s face was blank and hard to read, which unerves the young Uchiha. He has never seen his second sensei like that. Koru’s face slightly softness that went unnoticed by the Uchiha. “Obito-kun, glad you could make it. Come, have a seat.”

Obito closed the door behind him and went to the seat across Koru.

“So there is a conflict in your clan-” Obito flinched. He had thought about going back to the Uchiha clan, becoming one of them but decided against it. The high expectations they’d have for him would be too high that he wouldn’t be able to keep up.

“-and a heavy decision has to be made that includes you. Your clan head has reached out to me and I will have to make the call.” Koru took a piece of paper. Obito felt even more nervous by the second. What was that paper about? “But it’s still your decision to make, Obito-kun.”

The young shinobi was confused. Koru had to make the call but it’s his decision to make? What was it?

“It’s best if you read this first.” Koru handed the paper to Obito, who nervously took it.

Obito couldn’t believe his eyes. He re-read it, this time with his Sharingan activated. His eyes widened in shock. He was holding adoption papers for Koru to gain guardianship over him! Sharingan deactivated, Obito looked up to Koru who was smiling softly, eyebrows arched.

After a moment, Koru spoke, “What’s your decision?”

Tears gather around Obito’s eyes. He started to cry as he did back when they first met each other. “Hai!” he replied.

Koru reached his hand out to pat Obito’s head, his smile widened. “Alright then, musko.”

Obito couldn’t help himself. He flung his body to his new adoptive parent, who held him close. “Arigato, tou-chan.”
