Part of the Pack

To say Kakashi was panicking would be an understatement, he was scared. Startlingly so. He blamed himself or not being fast enough, id only he had been home faster Sai wouldn’t have had to take matters into his own hands, so here he is, running around the forest near the path to the village searching for his damn pup- student.

He huffed not being able to catch a distinct sent of Sai, he stop for a moment taking a deep breath. Trying to relax he took a few minutes before looking around for more clues, listening, looking, smelling, anything to give any sort of clues that could help.

Soon enough he saw something, tiny a tiny barely noticeable sent of ink. Normally it wouldn’t be such a big deal but to Kakashi it was, you see no one in this timeline used ink jutsu, it just wasn’t normal.

So he started following it

Sai looked up at the person whom he has rammed into, this man was tall, taller then anyone he’d ever met, tall then Kakashi and Kakashi was the tallest person he knew.

This person would tower over Kakashi, that scared Sai. He knew Kakashi would always protect him but this man was big, and Kakashi wasn’t here. His hight wasn’t the only worrying thing but the scowl of his face, he looked angry… A lot like Sasuke’s face usually looks.

His hair was big and wild like a porcupine, and behind him stood another man whom was about the same hight and age as Kakashi, who looked like an older Sasuke, these people looked like they’d be Sasukes family and odd enough that made him upset.

The man hummed looking down at him before his eyes softened “are you alright” he asked in a deep voice. Sai is awe nodded not uttering a word.

The Tall man looked around Sai for a moment before glancing at his companion and back at Sai “how old are you? Are you with someone?” Sai stayed silent for a few moments before answering “I’m seven… and I’m not with anyone” the two looked troubled by this revelation.

The Tall man’s companion kneeled in front of Sai giving him a soft smile that didn’t seem to suit him, but was real non the less “my names Izuna and the big scary guy is Madara, what’s your name little one?” He tilts his head in a similar manner to Naruto.

Unsure if he should answer he stayed quiet. Izuna seemingly understood this and didn’t push “it’s alright, don’t worry about it. It’s really not safe for you to be out here all by yourself, especially because of your looks” Izuna seemed a bit troubled about how to say whatever he meant, Sai didn’t understood. How he looked? What does that have to do with anything.

He teen boy sighed defeated, not knowing how to make a small child understand his looks made being out by himself dangerous. It was obvious to any Uchiha that this boy wasn’t one of them but to some Senju his looks might just be enough to them.

Madara swatted Izuna away and picked Sai up surprising him, he yelped making Izuna huff at Madara as he simply walked away with a struggling Sai.

“Hey! Let go! I gotta go do stuff! I gotta go back to my little siblings or they’ll be alone!” That statement made madara stiffen but he continued walking till they made it to a small Ramon shop where he sat Sai down and a chair and sat himself beside him, Izuna not far behind sat on the other side of Sai giving him a small sympathetic smile.

Sai huffed crossing his arms, huffing. This action made both of the men look very amused. “So you have siblings?” Madara starting some small talk trying to understand Sai and keep the poor child from getting caught up in a war he had no part in.

Sai nodded as Izuna quietly ordered them all food.
Madara nodded “how old are they?” Sai watched as food was placed in front of him “three of them are six and one is two…” he mumbled taking a small bite of the food.

“Your taking care of four little ones all by yourself?” Izuna looked a bit worried at him not bothering to touch the food that had been placed in front of him.

Sai nodded as he ate, suspiciously watch the two men. “Are you going to tell us your name?” Asked Madara. Sai sighed as Madara continued “you don’t have to say your clan name” Sai looked up at him slightly confused by that statement as if he didn’t understand, Madara didn’t question this.

“My names Sai… my siblings names are Sasuke, Sakura, Naruto, and Kaguya… we do have an older brother, his names Kakashi” this seemed to surprise the two “you have an older brother? Then why are you taking care of your siblings by yourself “ Izuna pitched in “ he went away for a bit” Sai looked down sadly. The group went quiet.

“Sai why don’t you finish your food and we’ll walk you home okay? To make sure your safe?” Izuna gave that same smile that didn’t suit him but this time it wasn’t real, it looked worried.

Sai shook his head frantically “no! Kakashi will get mad at me! No one but us are allowed home, that’s why he went away” Sai whines with tears in his eyes making the two men confused. “Someone else came home at night so Kakashi had to go away and he’s been gone so long, I don’t want him to be gone longer because of me!” Sai rubbed his eyes trying to stop the tears.

Madara patted his head trying to soothe him to the best of his ability. Soon enough Sai stopped crying but hiccuped quietly. “There there child stop crying, we’ll keep an eye out for your brother okay?” Sai nodded sadly “why don’t we walk you half way to your home hm? Then we won’t know where you live but we’re able to sleep at night knowing your okay?” Izuna hummed at him.

Sai nodded thinking it wasn’t a horrible idea rubbing his eyes tiredly, it seemed the seven year old was finally reached his limit. He let Madara pick him up, wrapping his little arms around Madara’s neck. He buried his face into the man’s shoulder as he got up and started walking around with Izuna in toe.

Sai looked up for a moment seeing a flash of white hair “Kakashi!” Sai called out struggling out of madaras arms, fully awake all of the sudden, running towards the direction he saw the hair with the two Uchihas following him.

Sai kept calling out for Kakashi till he ended up into the arms of none other then his older brother, who looked as if he were to cry. He searched Sai for any injuries, and hugged him tightly before looking up and seeing the two uchiha.

He quickly picked Sai up and backed away from the two, rushing into the crowd, trying to get to the trail as fast as possible, unfortunately the uchihas were persistent and followed.

They easily caught up to Kakashi.

Soon enough they were at a stand still at the edge of the forest right by the trail, the uchiha looked at Kakashi suspiciously, something was off about him.

They couldn’t tell and truly didn’t want to activate their sharingan and lose whatever trust the night currently have.

“We just want to talk” Madara said raising his hands in a non threatening way “I don’t want to talk to you, I just wanna take my brother home” Kakashi shot back.

Madara nodded and backed off surprising both Kakashi and Izuna, reluctantly Izuna backed off too letting Kakashi rush into the woods with Sai in his arms.
