It's been about two weeks since I came to this world and things have been mostly uneventful, I've just been going through the overly easy classes and occasionally dropping by the kendo club to spar or watch the fights I have noticed members of Rias's and Sona's peerages hanging around and keeping an eye on me but none of them has approached me. It's currently Saturday morning and I'm just relaxing on my couch playing some video games on the new console I bought after I went on a small shopping spree to get some creature comforts that I'd been missing from my previous life, it was mostly snacks.
I've also been ordering parts so I can rebuild the PC I had after all what kind of gamer would I be if I didn't have a good setup, this house came with a laptop but it's subpar compared to what I had back in my old life to say the least, some of them have even come and I've already started assembling it which earned me a new proficiency.

It always amazes me how much a proficiency teaches you, when I built my PC before I basically just followed a bunch of YouTube tutorials step by step but now I'm innately starting to understand how and why the pieces are supposed to go together in specific ways but it's still only a start, to be honest I probably should have grabbed some science based proficiencies much earlier since my best stat is intelligence.
In other news I have been keeping tabs on the abandoned church through an arcane eye that I left in there during my last visit and recently a few men who I can only assume are rogue exorcists from their outfits have taken up residence in the church, there are still no sign of the fallen angels though and there are still only a few exorcists in there but a new one shows up every couple of days and from what I've watched they don't seem to be doing a whole lot mostly just fixing the place up and clearing out debris, they're probably getting it ready for Raynare and her crew, I'd also have to guess that the sacred gear stealing artifact gets brought in by the fallen as well since I doubt they'd trust the rogue exorcists with it.
After I finish checking up on the church I boot up my console and play on it for a few hours before I let out a sigh of frustration as my character gets caught up in Malania's waterfowl dance again and dies, to be honest it was a welcome surprise when I found familiar games from my old world though I expect that this has to be some kind of interference from the system not that I'm complaining or anything, as for why I'm bashing my head against this boss over and over despite my growing frustration, well I was going through my inventory when I came across the dungeon key.
Boss Key (Malania)
When activated this key will be consumed to create a portal to Malania's current location, if you defeat or neutralize her then a return portal will automatically be created.
I have no idea when I'll use this since I don't know if she'll be scaled off of the game or off of her lore but either way a refresher course on her fighting style could be useful though I have no idea how the real thing will compare to game mechanics. This time I go through both of her phases and allow her to kill my character once she's almost dead, it's easier to do this than it is to start a new game every time, I use to really struggle with this boss but with my high DEX score my reflexes are so sharp the it has become much easier to win.
Deciding against another round I turn the console off and get up heading to the kitchen to make myself a snack, nothing fancy just a bowl of cereal, as I'm eating my phone vibrates in my pocket and when I pull it out I'm greeted with a picture of Murayama in nothing but a tank top and panties, it looks like she just got out of bed. I feel the world shift around me as the verse jump activates and my vision blurs for a second before my surroundings change and I'm suddenly standing right where I was in the Archmage's quarters in the college of Winterhold.
Naturally since time was frozen for the whole time I've been in the dxd universe the first thing I see is the Psijic mage's disintegration spell flying at me so I immediately summon a spectral warrior in front of me to tank the beam and I watch as the summon is instantly dispelled by the powerful attack but its sacrifice gives me enough time respond with a disintegration spell of my own.
I see the high elf smirk as he begins casting some other spell likely intending to block my spell but his eyes widen as the green ray falls short of him and strikes the ground at his feet causing a ten foot cube of the stone floor suddenly turn to ash and I give a smirk of my own as the elf let's out a startled yelp before he falls through the floor. Knowing that this is only a minor inconvenience for him I quickly summon ten spectral knights around the hole and have them jump down after him before I seal the hole with a wall of ice.
After I finish blocking off the hole I rush over to Lydia who is sputtering in confusion since to her eyes I was heavily injured and exhausted just a second ago and I seemingly recovered instantly but I don't wait any time explaining myself as I place a hand on her shoulder and activate the verse jump skill again which proves to be wise because as soon as I feel the skill start to work I hear a loud explosion coming from underneath us and the last thing I see before we teleport is the crystal clear ice start to crack as its battered by a wave of fire from below.
Once we successfully make it back to the house in Kuoh, I have to spend a few minutes calming Lydia down and reassuring her that it's safe since she looks like she's still in 'fight mode' but after that I bring her into the living room so we can sit down and talk.
"My Thane where are we and what exactly is this place?" She says while looking around quizzically seeming not to understand her surroundings very well.
Honestly I kind of expected her to be more surprised or panicked but after the initial shock of being teleported she's been surprisingly calm and collected and she seems more curious than anything else, I guess she's just chalking this up as just more strange magic, which it probably is realistically.
"I guess you could say that this place is another of my homes but it's very far away from Skyrim, in fact we're no longer on Mundus at all." I say calmly trying to ease her into the idea of multiversal travel, I have no intention of revealing all my secrets to her any time soon but she's definitely loyal enough to learn about verse jumping.
"Not in Mundus? Have we gone to oblivion then?" I see her tense up at the thought her eye suddenly scanning the room for hidden danger or other deadric trickery but I'm quick to quash that notion.
"We're not in oblivion either we're actually much further away than even that, during our adventures I learned a spell that would allow one to explore other worlds and while we're here no time will pass back in Mundus that's why it looked like I suddenly heal earlier but instead of healing I came here. I say in a calming tone as I lounge back on the comfy couch.
"So then how long were you here before you came back to Winterhold? Surely it must have been quite a while if you've managed to acquire a new house.
"I've spent several weeks in this world so far and during that time I've been training myself as well as integrating into this world's society." So for the next half hour or so I sit and tell Lydia what I've been up to since I came here as well as sparring little detail.
I tell her about how magic and pretty much every race other than humans are basically hidden from most of the world and I also give her a basic run down of all the different factions that I can remember off the top of my head, I can tell that she's trying her best to follow along but I can also see that this is more than a little confusing for her which is fair considering where she came from.
I can tell that she's going to need to learn a lot before she's ready to go outside and interact with a modern world but still having her around again feels good no asshole elf wizard gets to separate me from my girls and I'll be back to make sure he suffers for trying to plus I still have plenty of unfinished business in Tamriel.
After we finish talking about Lydia decides that she needs a bath so I tell her where to find the bathroom, as she walks off I pull out my phone hoping to kill some time before my date but after a few minutes go by I hear her calling me from a few rooms away and I come to the sudden realization that Lydia has no idea how to use a modern bathroom so I put my phone away and head over there to teach a grown woman how to use a shower which isn't how I saw my day going to be honest.

Well judging from the notification and the kiss I guess I can say that things went well, after Murayama goes inside I start to walk to my house but after a few minutes of walking I feel several of the undead I left around the church get destroyed, I guess that means the fallen have finally arrived in town since since I ordered those undead to hide in the forest near the church and attack it when the special artifact arrives.
I cast invisibly and fly on myself before I take off towards the church at high speeds, it doesn't take long for me to arrive and when I do I'm greeted with the sight of roughly two dozen exorcists trying their best to keep my undead horde comprised of thirty ghouls and five death knights out of the church, I immediately throw up a anti teleportation ward and watch as it envelops the church and the surrounding area, wouldn't want Rias or Sona interfering with my fun.
I see a few mutilated corpses laying on the ground having been torn apart by the ghouls deadly claws, there are a few dead ghouls as well the exorcists lightsaber knockoffs and holy bullets are especially effective against the undead after all, my death knights have been hanging in the back using the much weaker and dumber ghouls as meat shields as the slowly push the exorcists back into the church but there's a problem and a quick use of observe reveals what it is.

Most of his stats were what I was expecting just a bit higher than the other less important exorcists but with a ridiculously high dex score of 85 I'm sure all the other exorcists see him as a blur, he's still not as fast as me I can tell that just by watching him but he's still far faster than he has any right to be and that fancy looking golden rapier he's wildly swinging around gives me a pretty good idea why.
Despite the battle raging on I don't see any signs of the fallen intervening and a quick use of arcane eye lets me know that all four of them are in the secret chamber guarding the relic along with five more exorcists though none of them really seem to be taking the attack seriously at all, well I guess it's time to change that.
First I'll wipe out all this trash on the top level, I fly over and land on the roof of the church so that the line of defending exorcists are facing away from me before I cast hunger mist and a large black cloud bursts forth from my outstretched hand and descends down onto the battlefield engulfing both the exorcists and the undead, this spell is perfect because it deals poison and necrotic damage both of which my undead are immune to and from the screams and groans of pain I hear from the exorcist side they are decidedly less so.
Since the damage scales off of my intelligence ordinary humans like them can't survive in the mist for more than a few seconds so it takes care of most of them, a few stragglers on the edge of the mist were able to get out in time but they were in such a sorry state that the remaining undead were able to easily finish them off.
Of course it's different for Freed whose dexterity has been boosted by the sword to high heaven, as soon as he starts taking damage he uses his enhanced speed to dart out of the mist as he makes a mad dash for the church, so naturally I seal it of with a wall of ice and he just barely manages to stop himself from running face first into it, of course by casting all these spell my invisibly has long since vanished so Freed is able to spot me standing directly above him on the roof.
"Oi fuckhead! You were the one behind the shitty rotting corpse fuckers weren't you, all you magicians are all shitty heretics, get down here so I can chop you up into tiny pieces with my shiny new toy!"
I naturally don't respond to his I idiotic demands and instead fire a barrage of ice spikes down at him at high speeds but he's able to dodge or block most of them so he only takes minor damage as a few of the graze him leaving several small cuts on his body but his unnatural speed leaves him mostly unharmed, Freed reaches into his jacket and pulls out his handgun and starts to shoot at me but a quick casting of barrier ward is able to block the bullets as I back away to get out of his line of sight while I send a mental command to my ghouls and death knight and they rush out of the lingering black mist at Freed.
I can hear him fighting them below and while he's distracted with that I recast invisibility on myself and float down to ground level and by that time Freed has managed to defeat the remaining ghouls and is currently trying and mostly failing to deal with the death knights who were hanging in the back of the formation, Freed is faster than them but literally all of his other stats are worse and it's five on one but I think it's time to end this so I can move onto the main event.
I quickly blast him with a paralysis spell and watch him crumple down onto the ground now completely defenseless and while he's screaming and cursing belligerently my death knights quickly finish him off as one of them stabs him through the head, after that's done I immediately order my death knight back as I wrench the golden sword from Freed's cold dead hands and use observe on it.

This sword is one of seven shards of the original legendary Excalibur, it has the ability to massively increase its wielders speed and reflexes.
Well, that's my new best weapon just by virtue of the insane dex increase but still weren't there supposed to be restrictions on these swords, like only certain people were supposed to be able to use them, as I give the sword a few experimental swings I don't feel anything stopping me so I guess either I'm a natural holy sword wielder or the game is allowing me to use it for some reason.
It still doesn't change the fact that it shouldn't be here in the first place, is cannon moving faster than normal? But that wouldn't make sense either because Raynare has literally just arrived in town and hasn't even met Issei yet not to mention the fact that Asia hasn't shown up either.
Does this mean I have to throw out all of my cannon knowledge or can some events still be trusted to happen, damn it! I'm wasting time I'll think about this later for now the sword goes in the inventory and I'll figure out what to do with it later.
I order my death knights to gather up the corpses of the exorcists as well as any salvageable ghouls while I lower the ice wall blocking the entrance before heading into the church, once I'm inside another use of arcane eye reveals that the fallen and the few remaining exorcists are now much more alert and they're waiting down their to ambush me.
I can see Raynare and her crew all up in different corners of the room with light spears at the ready while the exorcists have formed a perimeter around the large cross shaped relic, none of them are close to being as strong as me but with their set up it would probably be a bit annoying if I just walked down there and fought the fairly but who said anything about fighting fair.
I walk over to the altar and casually kick it apart revealing the hidden staircase leading down to the relic before pulling a few potion vials filled with dark liquid from my inventory and hurling them down the staircase and after I hear the sound of glass shattering I shoot a firebolt down as well before quickly sealing the opening with another wall of ice and I make sure to recast the spell several times to make sure the fallen won't easily be able break through it, as soon as the firebolt makes contact with the pool of highly flammable liquid it instantly reacts and ignites creating dark purple fire that quickly starts producing a large cloud of purple smoke that quickly fills the room and staircase.
I smirk as I casually walk over and sit on one of the pews as I hear the fait sounds of coughing and yelling coming from underneath the huge chunk of ice, I came up with this idea when I remembered that the relic was stored in a secret underground chamber and after a bit of investigation i learned that there are no other exits besides the one under the alter, it also made me realize that I haven't been taking advantage of alchemy nearly enough and that I had just been treating it the same as I would in Skyrim but there are far more applications than that and I can only create tier 2 potions just image what I'll be able to do once I max it out.
I calmly pull a gas mask out of my inventory which I had bought online and put it on while the death knight bring all the salvageable corpses inside and I store them one by one, by the time that's finished the sounds of yelling and people trying to hit the ice have completely died down so I melt the ice with a bit of fire magic and walk down into the hidden chamber where I find the unconscious forms of the four fallen angels and the remaining exorcists.
I quickly and cleanly kill the stray exorcists by snapping their necks before I store their bodies as well, now all that's left to do is decide what to do with the four unconscious fallen at my feet, I don't particularly want to kill them, well at least not the girls anyway but I can't just leave them either plus if I kill them it might stir up shit with Azazel and the rest of the fallen and I'm definitely don't want to pick a fight with him at my current level.
Fuck it this stuff should keep them out for a few hours at least I'll just take them with me, I order my death knights to grab them and I leave the church and start to head back home.
