Chapter 8

Chapter 8

[Faralda POV]

She was standing in the stone archway on the path leading up to the college with the biting cold wind nipping at her, she swore that Drevis must have cheated with his illusions when they drew straws for this post, as she was mentally complaining to herself she spotted a pair approaching the college and unlike the usual drunk belligerent nord coming to spout insults or try to force there way into the college the one in front was dressed like a mage and she could sense that he actually had magic you'd be amazed how many people thought they could just buy some cheap robe and call themselves a wizard.

The women trailing a few paces behind him was clearly a warrior through and through no trace of magic on her accept for her equipment, contrary to what some of the people in this town liked to believe they didn't have anything against people without magic they just didn't like it when people looked down on practitioners, still she didn't know much about fighting as a warrior but she knew enough to realize that this woman was strong.

She's pulled out of her observation when a loud animalistic roar echoes throughout the small town, from her elevated position she guessed she was probably the first one to see the figure in the sky rapidly growing larger as I got closer to town, she reflexively cast a mage armor spell on herself and got ready to cast at a moments notice, she saw the man preparing to use his magic as well and the woman accompanying him had drawn her weapon, as the figure grew closer she could make out the shape of a pale blue dragon which landed with a crash on the Jarl's long house, she hadn't believed the rumors coming from Whiterun but seeing a dragon right in front of her dispelled any doubts.

The unknown mage leaps into action immediately firing a bolt of lightning at the monster's head before quickly retreating into one of the ruined houses to take cover with his guard following close behind him, she makes a split second decision and begins to sprint up the stone path to the college to bring help.

[Tavin POV]

As I hide in the run down ruin of a house, Lydia and I press our backs against the front facing wall as a highly pressurized frost breath blows what's left of the roof off and sends it flying, once the breath attack is over I peek my head out and see the panicking citizens running around like headless chickens desperately looking for shelter while the few guards that we stationed outside have pulled out bows and are taking pot shots at it from any cover they can find, I begin summoning first I send out a group of archers and flame atronachs then I summon a group of warriors and wolves who I have wait in the house so I can have them charge when the dragon lands, after that I cast (Mana Blades) and rush out, the first thing I do is use (observe) to see what exactly I'm dealing with.

I guess this dragon isn't important enough to have a name and its also weaker than the last one as well, still its a fucking dragon no something to be taken lightly I immediately send my mana blades at the dragon and I have them stab into its wings, it opens its mouth to try and breath on me but as soon as it does I hurl a (fireball) right into its mouth and the resulting explosion stops the breath weapon, the dragon roars in pain as smoke leaks from its maw, it pushes off of the long house and begins to fly away after its initial liftoff it starts to circle around the town and as its going I have my mana blades which are still stuck in its wings suddenly cut their way out leaving large slits in them.

The dragon plummets from the sky as its wings are no longer capable of flight and it slams into the main road through Winterhold with a loud thud then it slides along the street for a few seconds before coming to a stop, as it tries to stand back up I cast (Quicksand) under it to slow it down while my archers and flame atronaches pelt it with arrows and firebolts whittling down its HP, eventually after struggling for a while the dragon gets free and makes a beeline straight to me, see the dragon's charge I command my melee summons to move and I watch as they burst out of the abandoned house I had hidden in before and onto the street blocking the path of the dragon and forming a protective wall in front of me.

Fun fact when I summon spectral warriors I can choose what kind of weapons they have, so for this plan I summoned them all with very long pikes and as the dragon reaches my spear wall I cast (Quicksand) again causing the dragons limbs sink into the ground again as my warriors swiftly surround the trapped beast and begin repeatedly stabbing it, from here the fight isn't really interesting anymore the dragon can't move and the warriors keep out of the range of it's head so it can't bite them in fact the only one of us in range is Lydia but with (Haste) cast on her she's just way too quick for the immobilized dragon of course it can still breathe on us but I just use (Absorb Elements) and heal the left over damage.

This goes on for about a minute and a half before the dragon is dead Lydia got the finishing blow piercing through the bottom of the dragon's head when it tried to bite her, after it's dead and I absorb the soul I immediately store the dragon corpse in inventory before pulling up my new notifications.

I raise an eyebrow at the notification I can understand Winterhold and the college getting a boost but why Savos and Mirabelle specifically? Of course as I'm thinking that I hear someone clearing their throat behind me, when I turn around I see the two of them, Savos is a old dark elf with a slightly wrinkled face and a graying beard on his chin tied in knot, he's wearing the Archmage's robe which signifies his position as the leader of the college, Mirabelle is a short middle aged Breton women with short brown hair she's the Archmage's right hand and the real administrator of the college, I quickly use (observe) on them both.

Those stats are about what I'd expect they are both formidable as magic casters but quite weak physically, still Savos has almost triple my MP as I'm thinking that he speaks up "Well isn't this interesting when Faralda burst into my study claiming that a dragon was attacking Winterhold I initially wanted to tell her to get her head checked but it looks l was proven wrong, oh I do apologize for rambling on like that I am Savos Aren Archmage of the college of Winterhold and this is Mirabelle our master wizard."

"I am Tavin a wandering mage and the Thane of Whiterun and this is Lydia my Houscarl, it's good to meet you because I was hoping to gain admittance to the college for study." I say calmly as walk up to the pair as Lydia sheaths her sword and hurries to catch up.

"I'll have to admit this is quite an unusual circumstance but from what little I saw of that fight I can confidently say that you're far more skilled than any mere apprentice, yes I think you'll do quite well for yourself here, then let's make it official Tavin as the Archmage of the college of Winterhold I welcome you, now if you'd kindly follow me." He says as he gestures at the path to the college before turning and walking in that direction with Lydia, Mirabella and I following behind him.

As we make our way up the steep zigzagging path to the college I make sure not to slip and fall as the whole thing is frozen over and crumbling in places, when I'm Archmage the first thing I'll do is have this path repaired it's a god dammed hazard, once we reach the college and pass through the iron gate that opens automatically we step into the main courtyard and Savos quickly leaves us with a quick farewell after telling us that Mirabelle will take care of our introduction and tour before he rushes off which gets a slight scowl from her, I get a funny feeling that he pushes a lot of his busy work onto her.

We continue following Mirabelle until we're standing right in front of the big wooden doors that lead to the hall of the elements before she turns to us and clears her throat before she begins speaking "well now that the nasty business with the dragon is over with allow me to reintroduce myself my name is Mirabelle and as the Archmage has already mentioned I hold the position of master wizard in the college which means that I handle the day to day college business so if there's any problems or trouble please consult with me first before bothering the Archmage, now with that out of the way please allow me to give you a brief tour of the grounds."

After she's done with little her spiel she walks us around the college, first she shows us around the two "halls" which aren't halls but rather spires which house the senior staff and the apprentices and independent researchers respectively, she also shows us to my room in the hall of attainment it's a bit smaller than my room back in Whiterun but it has all the essentials an aspiring mage could hope for, a writing desk with an inkwell, a quill and a stack of blank paper, a decently sized bed made for one person and a small shelf for storing books, ingredients and reagents.

"I understand that your companion intends to remain by your side during your time at the college so I must regretfully inform you that while the college is more that willing to house you as a member you'll have to see to her accommodations yourself." Mirabelle says in a professional tone

A small smirk forms on my face "that won't be an issue the room will be just fine for the both of us." Which gets a slight blush and a hungry look from Lydia and an eyeroll from Mirabelle.

"That will work just fine you're free to do as you please in your room just so long as you don't damage college property or disturb the other residents." She say with an exasperated look on her face, I get the feeling she's dealt with a lot. I have Lydia stay in the room to unpack while Mirabelle leads me back outside to the courtyard and we walk until we're standing in front of a large wooden set of double doors before she speaks to me again.

"In here is the hall of the elements it's a general meeting place for practice sessions and lectures one of our most esteemed professors is currently inside giving a lecture to some of our newer apprentices, his name is Tolfdir I know you're probably well beyond their level but I think you should attend so you can become acquainted with your peers. Now before I return to my duties are there any questions you may have." She says with her arms crossed.

I know in the game you could basically do whatever you want you could come and go as you please and do their quests whenever you feel like it so I feel the need to see if that's still true, "Alright so I'm a member of the college now so what exactly is expected of me while I'm here."

"Expected? Well since Savos has decided that your capabilities are beyond the level of a apprentice you're pretty much free to do as you like your an independent researcher here so participate as much or as little as you want, obviously don't hurt or steal from any other members of the college and the administration would appreciate it if you didn't do anything to worsen our already strained relationship with Winterhold, if you do happen to make any breakthroughs in your research we would be happy if you share it with us but you're not obligated to." She looks like she wants to continue but she stops herself and apologizes because she has to leave and get back to work.

New Quest Added: First Lessons

Description: You have been accepted into the college of Winterhold and as an introduction to college life the higher up would like you to attend a lecture.

Objective: listen and participate in Tolfdir's lecture

Rewards: (Mage) Title, 10 credits

That's the first quest I've gotten in a while anyway once she's gone I turn and push open one of the large doors and head inside quickly to get out of the cold, I walk through the middle of a short hall with two doors on either side of me before I pass through a identical iron gate to the one outside, I step into a huge circular room with a high ceiling supported be several large stone pillars, in the center there's a well that's filled with some kind of fluorescent liquid that seems to radiate mana and just ahead of it is an old wizened man in robes talking animatedly to three much younger looking students who are facing away from me.

As I walk up to the group Tolfdir notices me as he pauses in his lecture and waves me over. "Welcome, welcome! We were just beginning please stay and listen." I nod and fall in line with the other students who give me a once over before Tolfdir starts again. "Alright where were we, ah yes we were discussing safety when using magic now when casting you need to be careful to properly control and regulate the flow of your mana so tha-."

"Sir with all due respect I don't think any of us would be here if we didn't know how to control our magic, I think we all understand so instead of just talking about it why don't you actually show us something!" A fairly pretty dark elf girl shouts as she interrupts, the other two students also voice their agreement while I just remain silent.

Tolfdir raises his hands in a placating motion as he speaks in a calm authoritative tone "Alright, alright that's quite enough everyone please settle down." He then turn to the elf who interrupted him and begins to address her directly "now my dear I wasn't implying that you didn't understand the basics what I was talking about was total mastery over your mana, it can take decades to reach that level, with that being said I don't think there's a problem with a more hands on approach, so since we were talking about safety before I'll teach you how to use wards,
wards are a type of defensive magic the protects the caster from harm and so they are an essential part of any mage's arsenal."

After he finishes his explanation he demonstrates a ward and this is where things get a little weird he stretches one of his hands out in front of him and it begins glowing with a soft blue light which spreads out and around him forming a barrier, come to think of it this is the same spell some of the mages in Fellglow used but this isn't how wards worked in the game, they were kinda shitty to be honest they only blocked magic and only in one direction plus the constantly drained your mana but I can't sense Tolfdir's mana dropping at all.

Tolfdir continues holding his ward before he restarts his lecture "this is ultimately a very simple barrier ward but simple doesn't mean weak it's usefulness shouldn't be underestimated, this spell could save your life, now with that out of the way we can get on with the more practical part of this lesson, first I'll demonstrate the wards effectiveness," he then points toward me and continues "you there please cast an offensive spell at me."

I nod my head as the other three back away from us and I fire a (lightning bolt) right at him and it impacts the barrier with a loud thunderclap but the barrier holds firm and doesn't crack at all, I can see with (observe) that his MP took a hit, more of a hit than that spell should have caused, I guess that the MP loss isn't equal to the damage. As I lower my hand he also drops his ward. "Well done my boy well done indeed that was quite a spell, now I don't know your personal experience so will you tell me, are you at all familiar with ward spells." As I go to say that I don't I get an idea and use (skill creation).

New Skill Created (Barrier Ward) Level 1/100
The user magically projects a protective barrier around themselves to block damage
For every 1 damage blocked 5 MP is lost
Requires concentration

That'll do just fine, with a confident smirk on my face I say "of course it'll be no problem" before I copy Tolfdir's movement raising my hand and using (barrier ward) as an identical force field appears around me, I'm admiring my new skill my ward is suddenly engulfed in flames as it's struck by Tolfdir's fireball, the surprise almost makes my lose concentration but I manage to hold it as I feel some of my MP drain away once the fire fully dissipates I release the ward and Tolfdir congratulates me, after that Tolfdir tells me that he plans to take the apprentices on a trip to Saarthal once they master the barrier ward and he says that I'm welcome to come along if I want to which I agree to obviously because the eye of Magnus is there and I need to get it I just didn't expect to have to wait but that's no big deal.

[Line Break]

Its the third night since my introduction to the college and my demonstration with Tolfdir, I'm currently sitting at my desk reading some book on magical theory since I figured that I may as well understand some of the mechanics behind my spells since the game basically does all the work for me not that I'm complaining or anything, still I hope whatever world I end up in next has a modern level of technology, I miss my computer and phone. Letting out a sigh I mark my place before putting the book away before I get up and climb into bed where a sleeping Lydia immediately grabs me and begins to cuddle up to me.

Before I go to sleep I think that I haven't really done much besides read some books in the arcanaeum which is basically just the college library, fuck Lydia and flirt with Brelyna Maryon who is the dark elf apprentice who interrupted Tolfdir because she's cute and also because she mastered the barrier ward two days ago, I've actually been able to raise her affection quite a bit through ample use of (arouse) if the other two take much longer to learn I might be able to make her the second member of my harem, as I'm thinking that I suddenly get a new notification from the game.

New Quest Added: Awakening of the harem lord

Description: With this new chance at life why settle for one woman when you could have them all

Objective: Get five women to have an affection score above 70
current progress 1/5

Rewards: Harem Lord perk, Harem King quest unlock

Well I always intended to build a harem for myself but I didn't expect to get a quest for it, still I'm not going to complain if the game wants to make it easier for me, still aside from making some progress on my new quest the only productive thing I done is make some more skills which I pull up in my menu.

The user makes themselves invisible for INT seconds if the caster takes a combative action the invisibly breaks

(Paralyze) Level 1/100

(Alter Fertility) Level 5/100
The user is able to magically change their own fertility such that impregnation is impossible this effect lasts for INT minutes or until dispelled

I'm quite proud of these I've had this illusion magic proficiency for the longest time but barely had any usable skills to level it so I just made a bunch of them and the paralysis spell incase I need to capture something, I've also added frost atronaches to (summon deadra) and spectral knights which are basically just better more expensive warriors to (summon spectral entity), as for the last one well I was tired of having to pull out, I close my menu I let out a yawn and decide that it's time to get some sleep.

[Line Break] [Minor Lemon Warning]

As I slowly begin to stir from my slumber my eye shoot open as I feel something warm and wet around my cock and when sit up I see Lydia's long black hair bobbing up and down along my shaft, I immediately cast my usual eromancy spells and I watch as she starts fingering herself, she must have been at this for a while because I can already feel my release coming quickly, before long I'm ready to cum and as I do I reach out and grab the back of her head and push her down my shaft as far as she'll go as I blow my load directly down her throat.

After I'm finished I release my grip and let her catch her breath as she pulls back panting as she looks at my with lust filled eyes, after I the first time we fucked and I told her that she had to provide regular stress relief she's been getting more and more into it and as she has she's become more submissive, I grab her and pin her under me and thrust all the way into her in one go, I'm able to slide right in because of how wet she already is I also continually cast (touch of pleasure) through my dick , she's lets out a loud moan as I roughly pound her into the bed in missionary position as she wraps her legs around me, by the time her tight hole has me feeling my climax approaching Lydia has been reduced into a lustful mess after driving her to multiple orgasms, I use (alter fertility) on myself before I cum inside her with one final thrust painting her insides white.

We get read to start in a new positing I hear a knock on my door so I cast my clean spell and we both quickly dress our selves, as I open it I see Brelyna standing outside, she gives me a smile before informing me that Tolfdir and the other apprentices are getting ready to go to Saarthal and that I should meet them there if I still want to join, as I go to answer I notice Brelyna's smile transform into a scowl and I see her looking past me into the room at Lydia, ah that makes sense she's jealous I haven't really done anything to hide what Lydia and I have been doing and it doesn't look like her anger is directed at me so I step out of the room closing the door behind me, "you can tell Tolfdir that I'll be there." I say as I cast (arouse) on her which makes her blush as she looks between me and the door a few times before she just nods and runs off.

I head back inside and tell Lydia to get ready so we can leave which she does relatively quickly, I debated about taking Lydia with me because I plan to steal the eye of magnus as soon as I can but her affection and obedience are both very high so I'm pretty sure I can trust her, it doesn't take us long to get ready and leave the college and with (haste) and (spectral steeds) we make it to Saarthal which was already close to Winterhold very quickly of course this just means we have to wait since the door is sealed, I pull some wood out of my inventory and pile it up a ways away from the door and lite it with a (firebolt) at least now we won't have to be cold, I also pull out two wooden chairs and we both sit by the fire.

Lydia draws her sword and pulls out a whetstone and begins sharpening her weapon the enchantment on it prevents it from getting dull but she explained that taking care of her sword had become a habit for her so she does it to pass the time, I decide that now is the perfect time to use my three gacha tokens.

New Item Added (Magic Coin)
This golden coin will always land on the side the owner desires

New Item Added (Animated Rope)
Fifty feet of magical rope that can regenerate and regrow lost length,
this rope is semi sentient and can follow simple instructions for example restrain them, return to me, ect

New Item added (Alpha Stigma Power Orb)
Grants the user of the orb the associated power, crush to activate

Alpha Stigma, wait seriously no fucking way! you can just get stuff like this holy shit! you can get something like this in the gacha the ability to understand and copy any magic you can see it so broken it's like the sharingan on steroids, as I start scrolling through my inventory to pull out the orb I hear footsteps so I put it out of my mind for now as I see Tolfdir and the apprentices walk up to our little camp, Lydia and I stand up and I put the fire out with a frost spell, Tolfdir greets us and and gives the whole group a warning to be carful in the tomb before he unlocks the iron door and we all head inside, as we walk through the first large open part of Saarthal while Tolfdir gives a lecture about the history of this place that I tune out.

Once we get to the ground floor Tolfdir sends the apprentices off to do various tasks and he asks my to go and find a college mage named Arniel Gane to see if I can do anything to help him out with his research, so Lydia and I break off from the rest of the group and I go straight to where I know Arniel will be and since there are no enemies in this section I'm able to make it to him with no problems, Arniel is a old balding man who is easily flustered and he asks us to look around for any magic items, after agreeing I go right to the rune covered stone slab the the Saarthal amulet is resting on I immediately put it around my neck and the runes starts glowing and iron bars erupt from the floor blocking Lydia and I from going back.

I immediately blast the slab with a (lightning bolt) and it breaks apart revealing a secret passage and I hear the bars retracting back into the ground as I'm about to go inside Tolfdir catches up with us and asks us whats going on and after I explain the situation we decide to explore the passage and we come to a room with a metal table and three sarcophaguses inside, this is the place where the Psijic order is supposed to get in contact you but that doesn't happen for some reason and Tolfdir goes to try and open one of the coffins but they burst open and draugr step out of them brandishing their weapons at us, to be honest Lydia and I barely had time to react as Tolfdir near instantly blast two of them away with elemental magic from each hand.

Lydia rushes the last one and after casting (haste) on her she cuts it down in a flash and through the coffin that the last one came out of is another passage so we continue on and come to a large circular chamber lined with sarcophaguses all the way around and as we step inside they begin to open and more draugr pour out and I immediately summon a group of spectral knights that are like spectral warriors but they are all in full plate armor and welding sword and board or greatswords and they're much better at fighting so they spread out and engage them while Lydia stays close to me to ward off any that get too close while Tolfdir is just unleashing barrage after barrage of various magics at them while I do the same, it's not long before we clean them all up.

There is another sealed door leading deeper down into Saarthal and after using two pull chains I unlock it and Lydia, the knights and I proceed onward with Tolfdir staying behind saying that he wants to study the room further, we move on occasionally small groups of draugr attack us but my knight easily slaughter them, as we're passing through a hallway leading into the last chamber before Tolfdir is supposed to catch up to you and I use unrelenting force on a support pillar to cause a cave in to block him so I can take the eye for myself, Lydia seems like she wants to question me but I assure her that there is another exit ahead and she calms down, eventually we make it to the door to the final room with the eye, now I know that the draugr boss in there is suppose to be protected by the power of the eye and that Tolfdir is suppose to drain power from it to take away his shield but I'm just going to put it in my inventory.

Happy with my new skill I open the door and the overlord stands up from his throne and fires a beam of energy at me from his staff but I block it with my (barrier ward) as my knights rush down at him, now a quick (observe) shows my that the overlord is a bit stronger than the knights but that doesn't help it when a dozen of my knights rush it all at once, I know it can't be damaged yet so I command them to restrain it, the draugr fights back obviously and even manages to kill two of the knights but there are just too many of them and they take his weapons away and hold him down, I put his staff in my inventory and use (observe) on the eye.

The Eye of Magnus (Mythic Tier)
This orb is both a magical generator and and storehouse
can hold up to 10,000,000 MP and will generate 1,000,000 MP
every day at dawn, drawing magic from the orb without being
sufficiently powerful or without the proper tool will have negative
consequences

Holy fuck I knew this thing was suppose to be powerful but I didn't thing it would be this insane I don't even know what I would do with that much MP, I immediately place my hand on it and store it in my inventory and once it's in I see the overlords shield dissipate and with a mental command my knights proceed to kill the mostly defenseless draugr, after that my group heads out threw the back exit and I make sure to grab the first word of the ice form shout and immediately spent the soul of that frost dragon to learn it.

(Ice Form) Level 1/3
Your Thu'um freezes an opponents solid fully
incasing them

Then we loop back around to meet back up with Tolfdir and I make up a story that a draugr caused the cave in but we managed to find a way out, he believes me fairly easily but claims that he'll have to clear to away later to explore the rest of the tomb and we all leave to go and give a report to the Archmage.
