Chapter 4

Chapter 4

As I push open the massive Iron doors and step inside bleak falls barrow I'm surprised that the doors loud groaning didn't immediately alert the bandits on the other side of the room but I can't complain so I sneak across the room that's littered with corpses until I see a small bandit camp in front of the path forward with two bandits sitting around a campfire talking about some dark elf who ran ahead. I cast (fury) on the bandit facing away from me the other one sees me but doesn't have time to do anything as her ally rushes her, I wait for the two of them to lower each others HP before I immolate both of them with (flames).

After calling up my unseen servants and having them loot the room I continue down the path to the next room grabbing a minor mana potion on the way, eventually I make it the room with the first door puzzle and watch a bandit pull the leaver and get killed by a poison dart trap, as I enter the room I start working on the puzzle while my unseen servants continue looting by this point I have memorized the solution to this one so I input the correct sequence by rotating the stone pillars engraved with pictures of animals to the left of the leaver to show snake, snake, whale before pulling the leaver and opening the gate.

Once I go through the gate I see a table in front of me with a skill book on it and to my left I see a spiral staircase going down, I approach the stairs first because I know that there are skeevers down there, as soon as I start to go down the stairs three skeevers rush up the stairs at me and I just use (flames) to fry them one after another and the just run into the fire because they're just dumb rats, then I go back and use the skill book.

New Proficiency Added (Pickpocket) Level 2/100
Measures the users ability to stealthy steal items that
other people are carrying
Pickpocketing is slightly more likely to succeed

As I close the skill menu I head down the stairs an grab a scroll of fireball and a minor paralysis poison off a nearby table before I start traveling through some increasingly spider web ridden tunnels and I know I'm approaching the place where Arvel the swift is trapped and after cutting through some webs both to get to Arvel and to uncover a chest I enter a wide open room and the giant spider falls from the ceiling and lands in front of me and at that moment I've never been more thankful for (gamers mind) because I probably would have freaked out but I'm able to summon my wolves to distract it while I send a torrent of fire at it from the back using (flames) until all that's left is a pile of ash.

I approach Arvel who is screaming at me to to cut him down from the webs he's stuck in but I just pull a sword out of my inventory and stab him repeatedly until he dies because I have not intention of chasing him through the rest of the dungeon then I cut his body his body down and get the claw off his corpse and finish clearing out the webs, I make my way from a few more tunnels before I come to a room with a bunch of draugr laid out on stone slabs and I know if I go in a few of them will come to life and attack me and now that I think about it undead make up like 50% of all Skyrim's enemies so I decide to make a new skill.

New Skill Created (Holy Ray) Level 1/100
The user fires a beam of holy light from their hands
deals 10 plus WIS holy damage does additional damage to undead and fiends

Satisfied with my new skill I step into the room and three draugr stand and pull out their weapons so I send my wolves to lock them in melee while I fire holy rays and I'm blown away as the spell one shots them, I guess that extra holy damage really does work, anyways I make my way through the next room I run into a some more draugr but they are all destroyed by one or two holy rays and I lockpick another chest that was buried underneath some rubble getting some more gold and a amethyst as I move on I come to the trap with the swinging blades you're supposed to sprint through but I just freeze the mechanisms with (ray of frost).

After walking through the frozen trap I make my way through a few more passages with a few more draugr but I use a (firebolt) on some oil on the floor making them go up in flames and after I make it through the path I come to a room that looks more like a natural cave than a ruin that's lit by glowing mushrooms, I go and pick open another chest getting a second fireball scroll and some more gold then I go down a winding path that leads over a natural bridge near a waterfall with a draugr standing on it but I blast it off the bridge with a (holy ray) and it dies of fall damage the I climb down and open another chest and getting some more gold, lockpicks and a lesser soul gem.

When I get back up onto the bridge I make my way into the next room which looks like I made it back to the ruin in the next room has a couple crumbled pillars and a large iron door guarded by a restless draugr, I go with my usual strategy of letting my summons distract it while I spam (holy ray) until it dies, well dies again I also pick open another chest near one of the pillars and grabbing some more gold as well as a scroll of blizzard after that I open the iron door to bleak falls sanctum, after moving through a few more passage ways I come to a open room with a coffin on my left a wooden staircase off a distance in front of me and a puddle of oil on the floor as soon as I step into the room I immediately run over to the coffin and fire a couple of holy rays killing the draugr that is starting to rise up and then roll out of the way of a arrow that was shot by a draugr at the top of the stairs, another draugr rushes down the stairs but I burn it to death by igniting the oil when it runs through it then I run back into the previous room and send my wolves to deal with the archer.

Once I search the room I go up the stairs and across a stone bridge I make it to the hall of stories with the claw door, I input the correct symbols on the door as show on the claw and the the door slowly sinks into the floor and then I step out into a large cavern with a big stone platform with the word wall on it, as I cross a bridge and go up some stairs to get onto the platform I notice a blue glow coming from one of the inscriptions on the word wall and I know that if I go over there I'll learn my first word of power but as soon as I do that the draugr overlord will wake up and attack me so I preemptively summon five spirit wolves the current maximum that I can summon and the down a few potions to refill my MP then I make my wolves surround the coffin so that they can swarm the overlord as soon as it wakes up.

I step up to the word wall and the blue glow coming from it starts to intensify and flow onto me and as it does I collapse down on one knee as knowledge of the dragon language floods my mind, after a few moments I'm able to collect myself and get back on my feet just in time for the coffin to burst open and my wolves immediately start attacking and I start shooting holy rays but this draugr proves to be really tanky and it is able to take out three of my wolves with a few swings of its magic sword before it starts to get overwhelmed and it falls to its knees but just as it s about die it unleashes the first word of the unrelenting force shout, now normally in the game this shout only staggers enemies for a second or two which is why I'm shocked and quite literally blown away as my remaining wolves are dispelled and I'm sent flying back slamming into the word wall as my HP drops like a rock. If that's only the first word the I definitely don't want to be hit by all three, I manage to stagger to my feet around the same time the overlord does and he rushes at me doing a overhead swing to try and cut me in half but I roll out of the way at the last second and shoot another (holy ray), this pattern continues for about minute before finally the draugr overlord falls over dead.

Level Up

Well since it seems like I can get a perk for reaching 25 in a stat I put all five of my points into WIS which nets my this perk.

New Perk Added for 25 WIS (Mana battery)
Through repeated use of your mana you notice that when you deplete it
it comes back faster than before
1 additional point of MP regen for every point of WIS

This perk is huge because it basically doubled my MP regeneration so I'll have to worry less about running out. Once I close the perk window the first thing I do is loot the overlord and pick up the sword which has a minor frost enchantment on it so that gets disenchanted immediately and the second item I get is the dragon stone which I will need for later, the next thing I do is loot the big chest next to the word wall finding 200 gold as well as a steel shield of shock resistance which also gets disenchanted and a orichalcum ingot and a couple of minor mana potions, then I go back down the stairs and around the platform to get to the hidden chest behind the word wall and inside I find a 50 more gold and and a spell tome of lightning bolt which I immediately use.

New Skill Added (Lightning Bolt) Level 1/100
The user shoots a bolt of lightning from their fingertips
it deals 25 + INT lightning damage

After I close the skill menu and take stock of all my loot I start heading for the exit pulling a lever to open a secret passage and looting one more chest with nothing special in it on my way out. the first thing I notice when I step out of the cave is that it is night now I've been in bleak falls barrow since morning but I'm not tired at all so I decide to go on to my next stop which is Brittleshin pass, I climb down form where I came out and go forward until I reach the lake which I follow east until I come to a small trail which leads to a cave. I go inside of it and immediately notice the frost rune on the floor so I use my new spell to trigger it from a safe distance which unleashes a explosion of frost magic which unfortunately alerts the skeletons in the next room who come to investigate but the are easily picked off one by one as soon as the enter with (lightning bolt).

As I step into the next room which is already cleared out I go over to the trapped chest and I lockpick the trap and grab the gold and mundane silver neckless inside before I sneak into the next room, I see a necromancer standing up some stairs at a alter with a corpse, a dagger and a few books on it I also see another skeleton standing around some cages away form the stairs so I go back to the previous room and summon three spirit wolves before returning and sending them at the necromancer he manages to destroy one of them before they reach him with a sparks spell but the other two lock him in melee while I one shot the skeleton with a (holy ray) by that point the necromancer has killed another wolf but has also sustained heavy damage with bite and claw marks all over his body I finish him off with a (lightning bolt).

I recall my last wolf and then I go up the stairs to the alter and I use the skill book which raises my summoning proficiency by one then I grab the enchanted iron dagger and and filled petty soul gem the dagger has a drain mana enchantment which I immediately disenchant then I turn to the dead necromancer and loot him taking his enchanted robes which boots mana regen so the is no point in disenchanting it I also get some fire salts and a staff made of some black metal with a light purple crystal at the tip which I store for now because I want to loot the big chest off near the path to the next room which has some gold and a few pelts which I break down into leather and then I use (observe) on the staff.

(Staff of Animate Dead)
The user of this staff can reanimate a corpse of a creature to serve the user for INT minutes
the corpse's highest stat must be lower than the users INT
This staff has five charges and one is restored at dawn each morning

The staff is very good potentially if my intelligence is higher I could raise just about anything which is really good assuming it doesn't just make a zombie so I decide to test it out so I use the staff on the dead necromancer and a ray of blackish purple magic leaves the crystal at the tip of the staff and strikes the corpse causing it to twitch and stir before it shambles to its feet, now to test if the mage retained his abilities or if its just a mindless zombie so I order it to go kill the two skeletons I know are waiting in the next room and I follow after him and watch as he destroys the skeletons with his shock spell I also use him as a human shield to block the ice spikes coming from the floating soul gem until I can grab it and put it in my inventory.

Instead of going out the closest exit to the cave I choose to back track and go back the way I came because it should put me closer to Riverwood, once I step out of the cave I start making my way back to Riverwood which I'm able to do without much trouble I do dismiss my undead servant before I get too close to town and I watch as he crumbles into dust, after I make it into Riverwood Its very dark out and no one is around and all the shops are closed so I decide to go to the inn so I can rest for the night once I enter I go up to Delphine and I choose to use (observe) on her.

Delphine, The Last Blade

STR: 25

DEX: 40

END: 30

INT: 12

WIS: 15

CHA: 8

Thoughts about you: Mild Interest

She's very strong, more than double my HP and all her physical stats are better than mine I could probably take her with my summons but I'd rather not take that chance so I just ask for a room and I pay the ten gold before going and laying down to rest for the night which passes by uneventfully. In the morning I get up and head to the Riverwood trader to return the claw and claim my reward once I'm inside I notice that Lucan isn't behind the counter or anywhere to be seen but Camilla is here and she comes up to me immediately and begins excitedly talking to me.

"Its so good to see that you made it back unharmed, were you able to do it, were you able to get the claw back."

I pull out the claw and say "one beautiful golden claw for one beautiful women" before I hand over the claw to her I also subtly cast (arouse) as I do.

+15 affection with Camilla Valerius
For bringing the claw back

the compliment and the spell cause her to blush and stammer before she steps forward and her lips crash onto mine, I'm shocked at first but I quickly get into it my tongue wrestling with hers while we are kissing I cast (arouse) again which seems to invigorate her even more we stay like this for about a minute before I hear who can only by Lucan walking around on the second floor of the store so I end our kiss just as Lucan starts down the stairs.

+5 affection with Camilla Valerius
For being a good kisser

"Lucan take a look at this" Camilla says while holding up the claw

"You found it? Ha ha ha. There it is. Strange... it seems smaller than I remembered. Funny thing, huh? I'm going to put this back where it belongs. I'll never forget this. You've done a great thing for me and my sister." he says as he takes the claw from Camilla and puts it back on the counter then he hand me a coin purse with 400 gold inside "for your hard work."

+10 Reputation with Lucan Valerius
For bringing the claw back

I give him and nod and Camilla a wink which causes her to blush no doubt embarrassed at almost getting caught by her brother, I also decide to sell off all the junk I picked up during our journey which leaves me with just under 2000 gold, then I leave and head to the bridge leading out of town towards Whiterun which is my next destination but I also want to clear White River Watch as well.

"it's time to get going" I say to no one in particular as I start on my way.
