The Chain of Events

Haruno Sakura didn’t mean for things to turn out this way. How was she supposed to know that it would end up in the wrong hands? Still, Haruno Sakura had made a mistake, and so she must take accountability.

Haruno Sakura was five years old, she was book-smart, and she had just started training to be a ninja, and like every other girl her age:

She had a big huge crush on Uchiha Sasuke.

However, Sakura was smart, and like any smart girl, she knew she didn’t have a chance with him. Not really. She knew no matter how much Sasuke-kun may look like a prince, he wasn’t.

Princes were charming, mysterious, romantic, and kind— Sasuke-kun was mysterious, quiet, and more likely to murder someone than to give them a flower. Nothing at all like the princes in her stories.

That’s why they were stories. Fiction always made things better than they were, and so, she began to write.

Ami found it first. She couldn’t believe it when she first picked up the papers. There was a whole book written on Sasuke, and wow—!! He was so cool!!!

The papers made their way home with her.

It was obvious to Ami’s parents that the story was written by one of Ami’s classmates, but the plot was actually decent, and with some begging on Ami’s part, they cleaned it up some.

Ami, of course was thrilled. She carried the papers back to the Academy the following day, and kept them tucked neatly into her backpack.

Iruka Sensei called spars, and Ami was up against Sakura.

Ami’s brows scrunched up, as she eyed the other girl in distaste. Forehead was looking stressed, Ami thought, with a vicious smile.

Iruka called start, and Ami sneered at Sakura.

“You look uglier today. Did you—“

Sakura decked Ami straight across the face, earning a few shocked gasps from the onlookers.

“You should learn to shut up!!”

Sakura hissed, her tone wobbly.

She lost it!!! She couldn’t believe she lost it!! She’d spent so much time writing it out, and she was so upset, and of course stupid Ami had to pick on her!!!

Iruka cleared his throat awkwardly, declaring the match over.

Ami ran home in tears, completely forgetting about her backpack.

A huge mistake, really.

Sakura’s story found its way to Umino Iruka next. He’d grabbed Ami’s bag with the intent on returning it to her parents, when the zipper came loose, and the papers came tumbling out.

He studied the papers, immediately recognizing Sakura’s handwriting. He he wondered if that had to with the girl’s fight today, as Sakura had behaved very unlike herself. He read the contents of the paper, before his expression slipped into an awkward frown.

This was about Sasuke??? Why on earth was Sakura writing a romance about her classmate, and why on earth was it actually decent?

The girl was five!!! Good god. Iruka felt a headache building up, which only worsened when the typical alarm sounded, notifying them of another one of Naruto’s pranks.

The visit to Ami’s would have to wait.

Uzumaki Naruto was the next to find the papers. No one would think to look of him in the classroom after his prank!!! They were all leaving the school like a bunch of dummies, which is what they were!!! Naruto thought, his face slipping into a mischievous grin. His gaze slipped to Iruka’s desk, maybe he could even prank his sensei, too!!

The second he saw the name on the paper his insides boiled. He was still sore from his last spar, both physically and mentally.

Sasuke was such a jerk!!! A stupid, ugly, duck looking, jerk!! The paper was so corny too!!

Naruto had a new prank in mind, and he grabbed the papers, his smile wicked.

The next day Sakura woke up with a bad feeling. She didn’t know what, but something awful was going to happen!!! She was sure of it!!!

This proved true when she stepped out of her house. Papers upon papers were laying all over the streets of Konoha, almost like snow, she thought.

It was weird, but at least it didn’t have anything to do with her.

One of the papers crumpled underneath her feet, and she huffed. Walking to class like this would be awful!!! Sakura snatched the paper up, her eyes widening in horror.

Somehow, her story had been copied several times and dropped all over the streets of Konoha!!!

Sasuke-kun was going to hate her!!!

Class was canceled that day.

Uchiha Sasuke would be upset at Haruno Sakura. He really would, but for once, his mother and father were sitting by him, in front of Iruka Sensei. He’d asked them for ages to come for parents day, but it was always ‘I’m busy.’

At least Itachi tried!!! His big brother was nicer than both of them! Why did mom have to stay home all the time, anyways? Why were the clan meetings that important?

After Iruka told them about who wrote the story, and apologized, he told his mother and father all about how cool Sasuke was!!! His father even gave Sasuke a nod!!! That was good, so no, Sasuke wasn’t mad at the Haruno girl. Usually, he would be, but today was a good day.

Later that evening, Sakura sat in front of Sasuke Kun’s parents and Iruka sensei, her bottom lip trembling…

Today sucked!!!!!
