Chapter 2
Seeking for Acknowledgement
As soon as Itachi's and mine's eyes met I smirked at him and he just rolled his eyes at me.
He soon disappear infront of the classroom and later on Kurenai entered the view.
She discuss about our topic after she introduced herself. I'm quite listening to her but choji is....well he's busy eating his chips.
"What's your next class, Sasuke?" He whispered. Hiding his potato chips under his chair, though I know that Kurenai already notice it but just let Choji be because he's not talking or anything. Just eating.
"Lunch," I answered him and I saw how his eyes shine and a little drool escape his lips.
"Nah nah, Sasuke. Let's eat tons of meat." He said excitedly.
"I'd rather eat vegetables than meat. And maybe you can eat after Kurenai finishes her lesson. Okay?" I said to him as he nodded continuously.
Choji's so cute. He's fluffy, maybe he can be my teddy bear? Afterall he's big.
After 20 minutes of discussion the bell finally rung and Kurenai dismiss her class and she exited the classroom first.
"Ne ne, sasuke." Choji tugged me by my uniform, I looked at him as I slid my backpack on my shoulders
"Hm?"
"Wanna treat me to lunch? Hehe." He asked, again, a little drool escaped his lips.
"Sure. You want to eat meat right?" I asked him and we walk side by side, his guiding me to the cafeteria since I'm not yet familiar with this school.
"Yeah! Promise sasuke I'm not gonna give you some meat." He said as he cling onto my uniform at the back.
"Huh?" I frowned. He's a weird guy.
"Thank you." I glance at him, as he said those words.
"Save your gratitude for later. I'm not yet giving you your meat right?" I said, he look at me and shake his head
"No. Thank you for letting me be your friend." He said and that made me stunned.
Because, little did Choji know that I'm the one who should be thankful for asking me and letting me be his friend.
I don't really have some friends, when I was sent to Mist to study there with my big brother, I only have one friend.
He's one year older than me though, but then after he graduated from elementary he was sent back from his country.
And I didn't even know where, I was sad when he inform me about coming back to his country. But then again, Itachi said that it was normal for people to lose some important person in their life in order for them to mature and move forward.
And in the end, I didn't think of having another friend after that. I just don't want to feel those sadness again. It hurts.
After a year, I also graduated. I graduated without a single friend from the school. After that Father decided to bring us back here at Konoha since itachi was already ready to become the new head of Uchiha Company. Father didn't allow Itachi to become the head of Police Force because he said that he want me to lead the Police Force.
But I didn't even considered myself to become the next Head Captain of the PF, I just thought that Itachi was the most suitable for the position. After all he's the Uchiha Itachi.
Father didn't even ask me if I want to become a police. But I didn't complain, nothing will change if I'll complain so I just agreed to him.
Though he said that he also want me to study business so that I can provide some support and back-up to Itachi as he lead the Uchiha Company.
Father is still the leader of the Uchiha Clan, he didn't step down from his position yet. He said that he want Shisui or Itachi to become the leader but both of them declined the offer and said that I am more suitable for it and then Obito second the motion.
Father didn't said anything but just stayed silent as his face were still serious.
"Ah! There's Shikamaru!" Choji exclaimed and drag me with him.
I saw Shikamaru sitting at the table, a long haired blonde is by his side, as they looked towards us the blonde girl nearly fainted as she realized who Choji was dragging.
"Is she okay?" I asked Shikamaru, he catch the blonde girl's body when she fainted.
He just laugh and yawn a bit, and shake the blonde girl to wake.
"She's Ino. I already told you earlier that we have a friend. A girl. And that she will get wild when she'll saw you." Shikamaru said
"Ino," Shikamaru called her
Choji push me by my shoulder to sit, I frowned at him and he just smiled at me, eyes were closed.
"Sasuke. Call her out. Please." Shikamaru said
I was confuse, ofcourse but then I obeyed Shikamaru.
"Oi, blonde." I said, leaning to my chair while crossing my arms. Choji laugh and Shikamaru chuckled.
"That's Ino Yamanaka for you pretty boy!" She exclaimed and I nearly laugh my ass out because of Shikamaru's reaction. He was startled after Ino suddenly stand up and put both of her hands in the table.
"Right." I said, she blushed after that.
"Let's order our food. I'm hungry." Shikamaru said
"Sasuke will treat me," Choji said
"Congrats then—what!?" Shikamaru asked as his eyes went wide
'Why is there something wrong?' I thought.
"You..Sasuke? Haha," Shikamaru uttered, his face were painted with amusement and a little bit of pity, same with the blonde girl named Ino.
"Why?" I asked out of curiosity
"Well, I pity your wallet." Shikamaru said
"Goodluck with that pretty boy. He usually eat 10 serves of meat. So goodluck to your wallet." Ino said
"Huh?" I asked both eyes went wide as I can't imagine myself eating 10 serves of meat.
"Eh? Is it not okay Sasuke?" Choji ask holding my shoulder for me to look at him
"Ah, no, it's okay. I don't mind." I said and saw some sparks washed over his face and he suddenly grab me leaving Ino and Shikamaru looking worried at his sudden action.
"H-hey, Choji calm down." I tried to slow him down but he just looked at me and smile
"The meat can't wait sasuke," he said, I just sighed and let him drag me.
As we ordered choji's meat he accompany me to the other part of the canteen and he let me buy my own lunch.
We head back to where Shikamaru and Ino was and they already bought their own, we ate our lunch silently and sometimes conversing.
The three of them were so warm to be with, they ask about what I thought about being one of the famous Uchiha but when I suddenly went quite they changed the topic and talk about their funniest moments instead.
It made me smile knowing the three of them were really close since childhood because of their clans connections.
A week passed by and our routine remains, we go to our respective class schedules and then eat lunch together, Shikamaru even treat me to lunch one time, I was even surprise by it.
Itachi's been sending me to school every morning and i just knew that I were just his alibi just to have some time with Kakashi.
I was sitting in front of father right now, I just got home and I was surprise that he and mother are home. It's not that I'm not happy about it, I'm not just ready for father's comparing session.
"How's your school, Sasuke?" father ask
'Built just fine' was I wanted to answer but didn't
"Sasuke's always at the top of his class father, you don't have to ask the obvious answer." Itachi said, I look at him with a surprise
"We can't be sure about that," I look down as I heard father's response
"He's doing fine. He even made friends for the first time since when you-know-who left."
"You made friends?" Father ask so I look up at him and nodded, hoping he'll be proud or atleast be happy for me.
"You're making your life miserable again sasuke, I thought you've learned your lesson already after your so called bestfriend left you."
My eyes widened as father said those words
"I want you to stop whatever friendship you have with them, focus on becoming the number one in your class. Be like Itachi," I look down at my hands that are placed in my thighs, I can feel Itachi's gaze towards me.
"Father—"
"You are dismissed sasuke," father cut Itachi off so I stood up and headed towards the door after I bowed at him.
I saw mother preparing our dinner, I went to her and kissed her cheeks and head towards the stairs.
"Sasuke, are you okay?" Mother ask, I look back at her and nodded
"You're not going to eat?" She ask again before I could take another step
"No, Good night." I said and headed towards my room.
As soon as I closed my door, I went to my study table and scribble some things to my journal. Everytime I'm having a hard time or some things happened be it a happy moments or sad I immediately wrote it in my journal, so that I could someday read those and remembered that in this day something memorable happened in my cruel life.
But today, it's not a happy moment that had happened but still I choose to write it down.
It's still early in the evening so I still have some time to read my books for tomorrow's class but I don't have the energy to do so because of earlier.
There's nothing more important for me than to achieve father's acknowledgement, that's the only thing that matters to me at the moment.
I wanted him to acknowledge me as Uchiha Sasuke, not Uchiha Itachi's copy or Uchiha Itachi the second, because Itachi and me has our own way to prove our worth to others especially to father.
Itachi was born as a genius and I'm just sasuke, Uchiha Sasuke who is willing to work hard just to prove his worth to his father.
Father's Acknowledgment, that's what I truly sought.
"GOOD MORNING, MOTHER." I greeted as I walked downstairs
"Good Morning , my baby. Here have some breakfast itachi will be down in a minute now." She said but I shook head and headed towards the door, ready to leave.
"I'm not hungry, I'll just eat at school. I'll go first, said goodbye to Itachi for me." I said to my mother and didn't even bother to stop and look back at her as I head straight towards our gate.
The school is not really that far from our house, besides it's still early in the morning so I guess a morning walk will not hurt.
I'm still not over about the discussion yesterday night, thinking about cutting off my ties my with shikamaru really hurts my heart.
Just when I thought I have someone who I can lean on to, and then father will really do his 'best' decisions and order me to cut my ties off them.
Can't I just be happy with my friends for once?
But, did I really became happy?
I was looking down, deep in thoughts, when someone bumped into me.
"Will you please watch where you....going...?"
"Oh! You're the guy from my class!" Exclaimed by the blonde who just bumped into me,
Naruto.....Namikaze?
"Excuse me, who are you?" I asked him, brown furrowed.
"Teme! Don't act as if you don't remember me. Hmpf." He said while pointing his finger at me
"It's bad to point your fingers to someone." I said and tilted my head to the right,
I raise my brows when I saw a little tint of pink in his cheeks, what's gotten into him?
"Seriously though, you don't know me?" He ask again
Of course I know you dobe, I asked Shikamaru about your name, was about what I'm going to answer but stopped myself because it sounded like I'm interested with him, which is not.
"Do you really think I'll ask if I know?" I answered him with a question
"Whatever," was all he answered back so I rolled my eyes at him
Tch, how many times do I have to roll my eyes at this blonde!?
"Naruto Uzumaki," he continued, pouting slightly, amusing me a little bit.
Really, Sasuke? Seeing this Naruto pout seems amusing to you now—— wait, did he just said Uzumaki? He's not a Namikaze?
"So, an Uchiha has some morning walk routine?" He teased me while putting both of his hands at the back of his head
He is also wearing his school uniform but why is he walking to the opposite direction? And why in the hell does he know I'm an Uchi—never mind. Of course he knows.
"Are you ditching class?" I asked him suspiciously
"That hurt." He rolled his eyes and look down at me, he's slightly raising his head, it's not that he's taller than me.
"I'm going to get Kakashi-Sensei's book from Pervy Sage, he asked me if I can since I'm going to visit the old man before going to school. Well, does that answer your question your greatest excellency?" He smirked as he lean closer to my face so I smack him and move past at him.
"Whatever, dobe." I replied and walk away
"That hurts! Hmpf. Be careful Uchiha, you might trip to a small rock." He yelled as I rolled my eyes
Why is that dobe acting so familiarly towards me? Tch,
As soon as I entered the school's gate I immediately went straight to my class, I have my literature class that starts at 7:30 and it sucks.
I'm also glad that me and Shikamaru were not classmates during this class. I don't even know what to tell them if I ever saw them, would I just say, "hey father didn't approve any friendship I formed with you guys so I guess, I'm cutting all the ties I've connected with you?" Ugh, it sucks.
I sat beside the big window in the classroom and waited for our proof and the students to come, I looked outside of the window because there's still some 15 minutes before the class start.
As I watch the students enter the school gate someone just sat beside me, deja vu huh?
I didn't turned around at them because I don't want to interaction with them so I just stayed in my position and watch the school's gate and my eyes caught some blonde hair with stupid face smiling widely as he entered the school.
He's really a beaming sunshine—-
"Sasuke?" I froze as the person who sat beside me call out my name
"Is that really you, Sasuke?"
I wasn't surprised of how they know my name but I was surprised because I think I know the owner of that voice,
I slowly turned towards the said person and my eyes widened as I confirm my suspicions.
"You..."
