Hokage
Her plans to force the Uchiha to communicate with the civilians were still going well. The actual result would take more than an year for her to see but, at least there were less chances of a civil war happening as of now.
She still had time.
She could take care of the new, and stupid, policy set by the Hokage.
Sighing slightly, she looked at the concerned face of one her employees before smiling slightly. She would usually not bother with communicating with a civilian employee but this one had managed to make her do so. The reason was quite simple; She had a 'crush' on her. The employee's glances and smiles at her with the tense and stiff posture around her, she would also make sure to adhere to her likes and dislikes that she mentioned offhandedly.
She was such an easy target to manipulate that Hisako had almost scoffed at her face once.
"U-uhm, Hisako-san, might I ask... Why is someone as, as independent and strong like you so readily accepting the marriage forced upon you?"
Her lips curved up into a smile she had practiced for years and her eyes folded in crescents at the question. [She had chosen to lead this girl on. She could not lose her composure over a mere question.]
"That is because, I have no doubts about this marriage. The elders in my family have chosen me a partner worthy of myself, I can not shame them by spitting on their decisions and wisdom. Do not worry about me Emiko-hime."
She watched as the girl's expression went from acceptance to embarrassment before settling upon a small pout. She blinked at her in fake surprise before trying to ask her what was bothering her. It was easy to make the girl swear her loyalty to her in her heart with a few sentences and she had almost let out a breath of relief at the task going smoothly. She needed Emiko to obtain information from the slums about her kidnapping, the Suna traders and many other things.
It was the 4th day since her kidnapping.
She had not gone to the Uchiha district. The only exception was the time she had visited one of her former teachers. It was to wish him well for his surgery, which may end in his death. He had simply laughed at her and the situation she was in before giving her his cherished hairpin.
She had smiled and thanked him for his guidance.
She snapped out of her thoughts as she put aside the documents she was handling and stared at the shinobi in front of her questioningly. She did not show them fear, nor did she show them disdain for she was far above judging them for their loyalties and occupation. She simple stared at them with an eyebrow raised.
"The Hokage calls for you."
"Please relay to him that I shall come to him only if he follows proper procedures."
She silently held on to the hairpin in her hands tightly, hidden under her desk. She knew that she would not win in a one on one battle with a shinobi, but she would still not leave with them without a fight.
"That was an order. Please come with us willingly or we will-"
His robotic voice was interrupted by her own confident and emotionless once.
"I am an Uchiha clan member. A noble. A businesswoman whose ties lie with Suna and the Inuzuka clan. Tell the Hokage, that if he wishes to summon he will follow proper procedures or else this... Situation will be taken as a threat by me."
Her words were spoked with a confidence she did not feel, yet she made sure that nobody but her knew that. She quietly watched them exchange looks with each other before apologizing and disappearing from her view. She did not let herself relax after they left. That was a luxury she could not afford. If they had willingly chosen to retreat despite it being an order from the Hokage then it was likely that the orders did not come from the Hokage.
Her first suspicion was Danzo yet she knew the man would not make such a brazen move. He was meticulous in his planning and the rift her had caused between the village and the clan due to her kidnapping was proof of that.
She suspected one of the lower clans of Konoha, or perhaps an outside player she did not know of before putting the thought aside. The lower clans would not make wish to make enmity with the Uchiha even if their power was dwindling as of late. Even if the power in her hands currently was not much, for them she would still be a power player in the current politics. The only outsider she could think of who would want to cause a rift between the village and the Uchiha would be Obito or Kumogakure, both of which would not want anything to do with her with her current reputation.
She paused for a moment as she thought of Obito and how she could actually not try to presume his plans. If he were by himself in destroying the world then perhaps she could have the upper hand but, he had Zetsu by his side. The thoughts of a non-human being were not something that she could assume.
Sighing, she continued her work.
The second time she had met Shisui was when he had come with an official summons for her from the Hokage. She had stared at him for a moment longer and she knew that it had not escaped the eyes of Itachi, who had chosen to visit her after quite a considerable amount of time since her return.
She had patted Itachi's head once to snap him out of his thoughts and with a glance at Shisui, she had left the two of them to go visit the dictator. She hoped he would know how to take care of the emotional and mental mess Itachi had locked up within himself. The sanity and mental health of the clan heir, and also a genius among shinobi, was quite important to them. Hisako would know that well, for she had seen the future of the cursed clan she was a part of.
She slightly bowed before the Hokage and raised her head exactly 5 seconds later. He stared at her a moment longer, reaching for his smoking pipe.
