Fated

For a week, Shikamaru rides a train and then a bus going to work while his car was still in a repair shop, fixing all the damages done by the crazy bitch whom he labeled in his mind. He started concentrating on his work instead and did not think about the incident last week. He rubbed his arm, there was another scar formed there. Shikamaru gained a lot of painless scars on his body, he doesn’t care about it but he finds it really weird. He gave up on searching for what caused him to have these scars and just accepted his faith.

Upon entering the office, Neji greeted him inside.

“Oh, Shikamaru? Why are you covered in sweats?”

“I’ve been covered in sweat every morning for a week. My car is still in the repair shop, fixing all the damages” Shikamaru said as both of them walked inside their stalls.

“Oh, right. By the crazy bitch you mentioned?” Neji chuckled

“Yeah, she’s wild!”

Neji and Shikamaru saw Matsuri entered their area and grabbed the files from Sai’s table. Neji looked at him and smiled, Shikamaru narrowed his eyes at him.

“What!?” Shikamaru said

“Oh nothing, I just remembered something” Neji teasingly said

“Yeah, right” He rolled his eyes and starts placing his stuff on his table. Shikamaru saw Matsuri glancing at their area.

A month ago, their team had their after-work drinking in Izakaya. Matsuri was so drunk she starts confessing to Shikamaru. She fell in love with him really hard but Shikamaru has no feelings for her, even the slightest. He only saw her as a friend and Shikamaru rejected her on the spot.

Matsuri was so heartbroken she filed a leave for one week. Shira was there to comfort her; he immediately drove from Suna to Konoha just to be with her. Shira was so in love with Matsuri since high school but she rejected him, then he pursued Temari after that. He did all the sweetest things during her lowest. Matsuri, in her vulnerable state, can’t help but fall in love with him, for Shira. Then they started their secret affair, hidden from Temari.

Temari cried for a week, in all four years of her relationship with Shira she realized that he loved Matsuri even before they were together. Shira and Temari had a big fight after he returned to Suna. He revealed that he loved Matsuri more than her and was willing to give up their relationship just to be with her, with Matsuri. His last words were marked inside her brain.

“You’re so hard-headed Temari! You always think that everyone will follow you, needs to follow you! I’m sick and tired of your ass…I’m no longer happy in this relationship. Sorry but I’d rather be with her than with you!” Shira said

Temari gasped and her throat constricts, unable to speak. Her mind was filled with words she wanted to say but her mouth couldn’t.

“Here, these things that you gave me! Take them all! I don’t need them! And this car! I don’t need your fucking car!” Shira throws all the stuff and the car key on her bed.

He walked out of her room and before Shira closed the door, Temari threw an expensive vase at him and starts crying.

That night, all she did was cry. Temari lay in her bed with the pieces of stuff that she gave, all were scattered everywhere, and she started talking to herself that night.

“Where was I huh? Where was I in those four years with you, asshole? All those years, your heart belongs to her you fucking shit!” She gulps the last wine she had, Temari already drank all her wine.

She whines and wails until the first song started playing in her ears.

Revenge by The Neighbourhood

She closed her eyes and listen to the song. The lyrics shot her heart with a message which gave her an idea.

….I let you rip me off, mhm

I won't do that again

And I know it's wrong, mhm

But now I want some revenge…

“A revenge huh?” She said while lying in her bed covered in tears and sweat. Her bloodstream was now filled with alcohol and then an idea struck in her mind. That night she decided to be toxic.

Temari filed her resignation after a week, drove to Konoha, and bought an apartment. Matsuri and Shira were now living together in Konoha, free from the eyes of judgmental people in Suna. But one person wanted to ruin their happy and content life, Temari wanted them to suffer till their bones feels the sin they did to her, a revenge that will satisfy her heart and soul.

Shikamaru just got his car back, it was flawless just like the first time he bought it. He was happy that day, what wrong could have happened? He felt the positive energy in the air and everything seems normal. He walked inside where he saw Sai, Neji, and Naruto having a conversation. He started placing his stuff in his chair when he overheard their discussion.

“Yeah, there’s a new Marketing head” Naruto whispered

“Who? Did Izumo leave already?” Sai asked

“Yeah, last week. He was so stressed and could not handle the work” Neji said

“I’ve heard that the new head was a girl. Good luck if she can survive the marketing team” Naruto said in a low voice while placing his palm on the side of his mouth.

Suddenly, Kakashi walked to their area and called for a meeting. Then, all of them entered the conference room. It was a big room and all of the teams were present inside. The finance team, technical team, production team, marketing team, human resource team, and analyst team which is Shikamaru’s team.

“I know everyone heard about Izumo’s resignation. He’s one of the best and it’s really sad that he already left the company but I would like to announce that we have found an equivalent of him, she’s one of the best marketing managers that we meet” Kakashi announced

Everyone was mumbling and whispering about the announcement.

“She?” Shikamaru whispered to himself.

“Meet Temari Subakuno” Kakashi opened the door leading to another room and Temari entered the conference room.

Matsuri was shocked, her hands start shaking, she could feel her stomach started twisting, and her lungs were catching a breath. Shikamaru on the other hand was shocked too, seeing the crazy bitch he swore to death in front of him. He thought this is going to be a good day but boy he was wrong. The new marketing manager is the girl who wrecked his car.

“Hi everyone, nice seeing you here. I’m going to be the marketing manager” she said in her sassy voice. Temari’s eyes focused only on Matsuri, hoping she could stare back at her but she didn’t. She could feel the guilt in her eyes.
