Chapter 5
Kakashi surpassed his chakra and looked at his assigned genin from outside. He is nearly three hours late. He can clearly see that all three of them are annoyed while Sasuke and Naruto don't show openly. He can tell from the aura they radiate is far from calm. Then Sakura is obviously angry at his lateness even though this time it’s Hokage’s fault.
He Body Flickered (Shunshined) in the middle of class then “Yo” he greeted them simply. He instantly received a loud ‘your late’ from Sakura while boys of the team looked at him as if he had committed the worst crime. Ignoring their reaction, he gave them a close eyed smile “meet me at roof” said with a cheery tone and disappeared with poof of smoke.
Kakashi gazed at his tense student with serious eyes then he gave them his iconic eye smile ”Yo, I’m Hatake Kakashi you guys’s Jounin-sensei. I have some likes and dislikes. Hobby? you guys are young for it” he giggled at the last part “and finally I don’t have a dream” he introduced himself and pointed at Sakura “Now introduce yourself pinkie”.
“ahm! My name Haruno Sakura. My likes are…” she stopped his fangirl side and glanced the Sasuke then Naruto “Reading and studying medical” She looked both teammates again but doesn’t saw any particular reaction “My dislikes are being insulted and looked down” She saw brief reaction from Sasuke “My hobbies are flower pressing and medical practise and my dream reach the level of The Senju Tsunade’s level as medic-nin” She saw Naruto gave a smile and approving nod while Sasuke-kun remain stoic. ‘I took Naruto’s approval, meaning Sasuke also approves’ She smiled at herself proudly ‘now I’m one step closer to Sasuke-kun’.
Kakashi looked at only female members of his team. He waited for a complete fangirl from the report but even he can see her look toward Sasuke while looking for his reaction if she’s impressed him or not. But he can also feel she is true to her words and he can tell she is serious about her dream. Then Naruto approving nod and smile he can’t feel but think something fishy is happening.
“It's a pretty high dream but when I can work on it even though I don't have huge knowledge over the medical field” he told her and turned Sasuke and pointed at him “Now under-cut”.
“Hn, Sasuke Uchiha. I like learning new things, I dislike being left in the dark about things. My Hobbies are training and perfecting. My dream is to obtain the truth and restore my clan” He finished with a determined voice. His posture and his voice showing his elite status while without a hint of arrogance. While Naruto gave a soft smile for a second before his face returned to his normal stoic one.
This team once again broke his expectations. He thought Sasuke would be more ‘emotionally damaged’ when considering 3rd Hokage’s ‘let him alone he will recover himself’ policy but he is more than recovered but he accepted or he kept it deep down. But he doesn’t sense a lie or hesitation when he introduces himself. And finally what type of information was kept from him.
Even though he wants to put more thought on it there is one more member to introduce. After nodding to Sasuke’s introduction with a satisfying hum he turned to the last member and pointed at him “Lastly blondie”.
“Uzumaki Naruto. My Iike’s are origami and kimonos. My dislikes are lateness and imperfection. My hobbies are making origami and working on paper release. For my dream I want to become an Elite ANBU” ended with a sharp smile, his eyes locked on Kakashi’s sole eye.
Kakashi looks at Naruto who is looking at him with piercing eyes and a sharp smile. Naruto's report is the most accurate one of all his teammates. But if the report is correct, Naruto’s belief over ‘Shinobi’s are a tool/asset’ needs work on this belief if he wants to be an Elite ANBU. “I'm a ninjutsu specialist and former ANBU captain so I can help you with your paper release and teach you a few ANBU tricks” he finished.
He one last time gazed at his soon to be his team then “For the final test meet me at training ground 3, at 9am” he informed his team “and lastly I recommend don't eat anything before the test…” he stops a few second “...you will puke”. Before his genin ask further question he body flickered (shunshined).
Sakura looked at both her male teammates “You guys want to go and eat something” she asked both boys even if she wanted to have time with his Sasuke-kun but her tactic to approach Sasuke-kun alone only came with failure. Naruto turned to her while she waited for dismissal but, to her surprise, “Do you know Kurosaki’s traditional dinner place?” Naruto asked her.
“One that is in Rongi district” She answered unsure to herself but she felt relief when Naruto nodded her answer. “Yes, that one I’m moving to new place right now if you want we can meet for dinner and discuss about final test” She nodded “there is any help needed” she asked but Naruto dismissed her “Meet with us 9pm” then Naruto took out a scroll from his sleeve and handed it to Sakura “Think it as teaming and improvement gift” while Sasuke look at him with suspicion.
Sakura staring at the Kimono lying on his bed. She doesn't know how long she is staring at the most beautiful kimono she has ever seen. Kimono is pale red with pink sakura petals on sleeves and bottom, folded pale pink obi near the kimono. She remembers from time to time Ino and herself standing in this particular kimono store and dreaming about one day wearing one of those but the price of those kimonos are gigantic even for Ino.
But now in front of her, her dream of a kimono gifted by someone, she disliked and stayed away and even his family warned her about him. But now thinking about Naruto why She disliked him ‘He stole Sasuke-kun frım her’ but why her family warned her about Naruto. Yes, sometimes he looks sadistic but he can’t find any difference except his fashion style and personality but this is not even extreme considering many different types of Shinobis.
With new determination to also know Naruto She carefully wore the Kimono and said goodbye to her mother and left the house. On the way to Kurosaki’s she comes across Ino and of course she shows off her new Kimono gifted from Naruto. Of course she didn't believe it at first but after showing her their special brand signature she cried about her two peasant teammates even though they were from respected clans. After parting with Ino she arrived at Kurosaki’s.
Kind waitress led her to a private room. When she entered the room, she was greeted by Naruto and Sasuke sitting while drinking tea which was also served to her with her entrance. After a small greeting food is served but there is no word spoken. After considering if to start conversation or not she saw both boys focused their food and enjoying it she also started to do the same. And with her focus on the food team, seven keep eating food they served in comfortable silence with flowing other serves.
When lastly light desert and sake were served Naruto took tokkuri and filled Sasuke’s and her Ochoko (sake cup) and handed sake to Sasuke the Sasuke filled Naruto’s Ochoko (sake cup). She first hesitated but she took her first sip but unlike sake her father’s drink this smell fresh and beautiful and had a sweet and cloudy aroma with slight burning on her throat. This is a high quality and probably expensive kind of sake.
“Then let’s discuss about final test and our abilities for the clean pass” Sasuke started.
