This was never going to end well for anybody. They now had more problems than any of the (idiotic) genin realised, Naruto recognised these two from the bingo books and more importantly their association. They were the demon brothers, Gozu and Meizu, chunin missing nin from the village hidden in the mist, Naruto really cursed their luck.
"Naruto, y-you killed them?" asked Sakura, horrified. Naruto ignored her walking towards Tazuna, his anger and killing intent leaking, terrifying the older man who looked incredibly guilty.
"Explain, now," ordered Naruto as Tazuna gave out a stuttery explanation about a business Tycoon known as Gato who had taken over the land of waves, on the surface, he was your regular old business man but underneath that was a cruel criminal who abused his power to keep the land of waves poor, killing anyone who challenged him, controlling the trade routes.
"What exactly do you think a bunch of genin, can do against a man like Gato?" asked Naruto, with a raised eyebrow. The genin in question looked insulted by the fact that Naruto was questioning their skills.
"You, two, are skilled why can't you deal with Gato?" asked Tazuna.
"The problem is this mission is an A or a B-rank mission, most likely an A-rank, if my suspicion is correct," said Naruto, with a sigh.
"Do you recognise these two, Naruto?" asked Kakashi, interested.
"They are the demon brothers, missing chunin shinobi from the mist and long time, associates of Zabuza Momochi, the demon of the mist," said Naruto, to which Kakashi's eyes widened before narrowing.
"Is this Zabuza really that bad?" asked Sakura, nervous.
"He is an A-rank shinobi in the bingo books and a skilled assassin, infact he was one the seven ninja swordman of the mist, a master of the killing technique and the executioners blade," said Naruto, "that is why I am suggesting we abandon this mission, I am sorry Tazuna but none of us can handle an opponent of this level."
Sasuke, Sakura and Tazuna looked at Naruto, horrified, when did he become so cold as to abandon people in need?
"Naruto is technically right, you three are not ready to face Jounin level opponents but me and Naruto are both highly trained so I have no doubt that we can match Zabuza Momochi," said Kakashi, to which Naruto sighed there was no arguing with stubborn people, especially some one as stubborn as a jounin, and people as stubborn as this team.
"Let's put it to a vote," said Kakashi, "Who wants to go?"
Four hands went up, "okay, who doesn't want to go?" one hand went up. Naruto sighed as this would be no doubt as the Shikamaru Nara puts it, 'troublesome'.
"Let's go," said Naruto, sighing, he would not be responsible if they get injured. Naruto and the others walked to what Naruto, considered oblivion, at least, Naruto was going to get time to test out water manipulation.
"So since, this is going to take some time," said Naruto, "let's do some introductions."
"I guess I'll start, I am Sakura Haruno, I like-" giggling while looking at Sasuke, "my hobbies are planting and -" giggling while looking at Sasuke, "and my dream is to-" giggle while blush.
'Oh great, a fangirl,' thought Naruto, annoyed, he'll try to break her out of it.
"I guess I'll go next, I am Naruto Uzumaki, I like my sensei, jutsu, some people and a few books, I dislike fangirls and annyoing people, my hobbies are training and I guess planting, my dream is to be Hokage."
"I am Sasuke Uchiha, I like many things and I dislike many things, I do have a dream, to become stronger and bring my parent's murderer to justice."
'Interesting, that alarming, a depressing Emo,' thought Naruto, with a hand on his chin.
"I am Sai, I like painting and I dislikes critics, my hobbies are painting and training, my dream, I don't really have one."
"Ah i see, a fangirl who most likely won't survive to adulthood," Sakura started frowning and looked horrified, "An emo whose dreams genuinely scare me and anyone with half a brain," Sasuke frowned, " and an emotionless artist," Sai frowned.
"Do you have a problem with us or something?" asked Sakura.
"Yes, I have problems with you and this team... Sakura, you are supposed to be the smartest in the classroom, yet you are by far the weakest member of this team, you don't train, you don't progress, do you know how many kunoichi have died of similar ways? Clearly Sasuke isn't interested in you and this should be a wake up call but no you keep trying, you're twelve for fuck's sake, you still have many years before you should even be thinking about things like this, focus on your choice of career, Sasuke, you are cold towards your teammates and anyone who knows you, do you know how bad that is for teamwork, teamwork which could keep you alive if you were injured or in need of help, teamwork which could help you with your goal and finally Sai, you have to be prepared to fight an opponent, you cannot spend time drawing like you did, it almost resulted in your teammates, dying, and also Sai emotionlessness may help with this career, but without emotions we could never be good at our job as it gets rid of feelings that we may need."
Sasuke, Sakura and Sai all looked at Naruto, considering his words, Naruto had honestly lost his pateince with these three, they pretended to be shinobi and then acted like this.
"What do you know?" asked Sakura.
"He's right, Sakura, but I would never have put it like that, Naruto," said Kakashi as all three looked at their sensei with shock.
"I'm sorry but I don't want them to die anytime soon, and if they keep on this path, this may be what happens," said Naruto. Sasuke, Sakura and Sai considered Naruto's words, Sakura decided to do some soul searching, Sasuke decided to think on what he was told and Sai looked confused as what Naruto said, went against all of his programming.
-Time skip-
Team 7 and the chunin had just arrived in the land of waves and at first, noticed the large fog that surrounded them.
"Is the fog always this big?" asked Naruto, as he tried to look around.
"No not usually," said Tazuna. Naruto heard some rustling and threw a kunai into there. He went to check and noticed a white bunny, a bunny that should not be in this weather.
"Get down!" shouted Kakashi, as everyone slid onto the floor as a giant sword, spinning came at them and hit onto the trees. Suddenly ontop of it was Zabuza Momochi, the demon of the mist.
"Formation three," orders Kakashi as Team 7 rushed towards Tazuna, and pulled out Kunai surrounding him. Naruto and Kakashi both stared at Zabuza, keeping their eyes on him.
"Well well, if it isn't Kakashi Hatake, the second white fang," said Zabuza.
"If it isn't Zabuza Momochi, the demon of the mist," said Kakashi.
"Why don't you just hand over the bridge builder and we go our separate ways," said Zabuza, seeing Kakashi shake his head "Fine then."
He jumped down pulled the blade out of the tree and put it onto his back. Zabuza than jumped onto the water, placing two on his lips and two fingers above him.
"ninja art: hidden mist jutsu!" shouted the eyebrow less assassin, as a heavy mist and a high amount of killing intent, rolled into the location. Sasuke and Sakura both froze from the amount. Kakashi looked back at the young Uchiha and decided to get the boy's hopes up.
"Don't worry, Sasuke, I'll protect you with my life, nothing is going to happen to you," said Kakashi, with an eye smile, he was infamous for, as he turned back to his enemy or at least where he believes his enemy was. Sasuke looked a bit relieved as Naruto sensed a faint chakra signature approaching Kakashi, and went through some handsigns.
Zabuza appeared behind Kakashi, wielding the executioners blade and spinning around.
"Die!" shouted the murderous missing-nin but the attack didn't reach as Naruto had completed the jutsu.
'Wind style: wind blade jutsu!' said Naruto, silently, as an invisible force suddenly sliced Zabuza into two pieces, however Naruto and Kakashi's eyes widened as Zabuza became a puddle of water.
"Water clone," said Naruto as he started to looked around frantically for the assassin, who suddenly appeared behind Kakashi slicing him, as Kakashi disappated into smoke.
'Shadow clone,' thought Naruto, as he decided to protect the Genin and use some more jutsu charging at him going through handsigns, Zabuza this time swung his sword forward, stabbing the blonde in the chest who looked shocked.
"Sorry kid, but I really need the money," said Zabuza as Naruto suddenly went up into smoke, surprising Zabuza and giving the Uzumaki the opportunity needed, to do the jutsu.
"Earth style: great mud river!" shouted Naruto, as the floor under Zabuza is turned into a muddy river that sweeps away.
"Is this all?" asked Zabuza, as he started to go through some hands
"Far from it," said Naruto going through some more hand signs.
"Earth style: earth dragon bomb!" shouted Naruto as a dragon like head came out of the mud, shooting mud balls at the opponent. Zabuza grew shocked as he was suddenly pelted with mud balls but the damage wasn't fatal, but it did hurt.
"Fire style: fire dragon bomb!" shouted Naruto, as he released fire in the direction of Zabuza, lightning the mud falls a flame. They scorched Zabuza who let out some screams,
"He combined fire and earth styles," said Sasuke, in awe. Sasuke and Sakura had heard about this in the academy and had heard how difficult it was to combine different styles, making it extremely impressive for the genin.
"Good job, Naruto!" shouted Sakura but her joy soon turned to shock as Zabuza suddenly became water.
'Oh no,' thought Naruto, as Zabuza appeared in front of Naruto swinging his sword at the young Chunin, giving Naruto no time to dodge, but the sword did not connect as Kakashi appeared in front of Zabuza, blocking the strike.
"Your fight is with me!" shouted Kakashi, as he punched Zabuza in the face, sending the demon of the mist, flying into a tree. Naruto decided to test out his water manipulation a bit. Going through multiple hand signs, weaving this jutsu would take a bit out of him.
"Water style: water dragon jutsu!" shouted Naruto as a giant dragon composed of water, rushed at the demon of the mist but that wouldn't be all of his problems as Kakashi went through his own hand signs.
"Lightning style: earth flash!" shouted Kakashi, creating waves of lightning in Kakashi's hands, which he sends towards the water dragon, combining both jutsus, at Zabuza who looked shocked, and jumped out of the way as the jutsu collided with several trees. Zabuza suddenly fell down as senbons were inplanted into him, on his neck. Suddenly a masked nin appeared who Naruto recognized as a mist anbu hunter-nin.
"I have been hunting this one for some time, thank you," said the hunter nin, as Kakashi knelt down and checked the heart beat of the opponent. Finding no heart beat, Kakashi got back up and turned towards his team. Naruto turned as well but he remembered something about hunter nin, something important that could decide Zabuza's fate.
'Hunter-nin are supposed to cut off the head and destroy the body,' thought Naruto as he turned around and released several kunai onto the hunter nin. Kakashi and the rest of team seven were confused for a second before Kakashi's own eyes widened and he rushed towards the hunter nin, who disappeared in smoke before he arrived.
"Naruto, sensei, what is going on?" asked Sakura, looking at both, as Naruto sighed.
"Let's get to Tazuna's home before we discuss anything," said Naruto, as they walked away.
