Chapter 27
Hinata, Sasuke, and Naruto stood with Kakashi at the front of the bridge. All the people in the village were waving them goodbye. Inari and Naruto hugged each other goodbye and promised to visit soon. The village named the bridge The Great Naruto Bridge in honor of Naruto.
The trio then walked back to Konoha, they were exhausted after the mission so they all just rested their heads on each other on the way back.
When they got back, Kakashi dragged them to the hospital for a physical.
"But Kakashi-sensei! We all recovered just fine, why do we need to go to the hospital?" Naruto asked
"It's just a check up. We wanna make sure you guys are in top shape." Kakashi lied
When they were called into their room, they were suprised to see the Sandaime.
"Jiji? What are you doing here?" Naruto asked
"Just to see something." Hiruzen put privacy seals on
One of the nurses who were allowed to be here asked the trio to activate their dojutsu's. "But I don't have a dojutsu, only Sasuke and Hinata do."
"Just send some chakra to your eyes." The nurse instructed
They all did what they were told. Sasuke activated his one tome Sharingan. Hinata activated her Byakugan but it looked different. And Naruto's eyes turned onyx black with a red swirl in them.
"What the- Why can I see so much better now?" Naruto asked out loud
Hinata gasped at the sight of Naruto's new eyes. "Naruto, your eyes!"
"What's wrong with Naruto's eyes?" Sasuke asked the Sandaime
"Nothings wrong. Naruto, Kakashi told me that you used some type of chains against Zabuza. Is this true?"
"Of course it is Jiji."
"Then my theory is correct. Naruto has activated his clans Kekkei Genkai."
There was a silence that you could hear a pin drop.
"What?!" The trio yelled at the same time
"Naruto as a clan?" Sasuke asked
"Yes, the Uzumaki Clan."
"Uzumaki? I thought it was a random last name the orphanage gave me." Naruto said
"No you inherited your name from your mother." Hiruzen said
"My mother? Can you tell me about her please!? Where is she?! Where does she live?! Can I meet her?!" Naruto asked like an excited child
Hiruzen took a long puff of his pipe and looked sadly at Naruto. "Naruto, I'm sorry to say but you're mother is dead."
Naruto flinched at the news and became still. "A-And my father?" Naruto asked hesitantly and hopeful
"Dead as well, I'm sorry." Hiruzen gave Naruto a sad look
Naruto looked at the floor before chuckling. "O-Of course their dead. I wouldn't be an orphan if they were alive." Naruto's laughter dissolved into tears
Naruto's knees gave out and he cried on the floor, Hinata and Sasuke sat next to him to comfort him. Hinata hugged him and dragged Sasuke to do the same. Naruto held their hands like they were his lifeline.
"Do you want to continue Naruto? You don't have to if you don't want to." Sasuke said to him
Naruto nodded, he needed to know more. "W-What was my clan like?"
"The Uzumaki can was a clan not native to Konohagakure but to Uzushiogakure, the Land of Whirlpools. The Uzumaki Clan possessed massive chakra reserves, incredibly strong life forces, high stamina, fast regeneration, and their prowess in Fuinjutsu." Hiruzen explained
"Is that why I can use Fuinjutsu so easily?"
"Yes. For the Uzumaki Clan, Fuinjutsu came as easily as breathing for them."
"Sandaime-sama, you said The Uzumaki Clan 'was' a clan. What happened to them?" Hinata asked
"They were wiped out."
"What?" Naruto's breath hitched
"Why?" Sasuke asked
"During the Third Ninja War, many villages banded together and took the people of Uzushiogakure by suprised and killed everyone. By morning, Uzushiogakure was in ruins."
Naruto looked at Hiruzen with glossy eyes. "But there were survivors, right? Right?"
"Yes Naruto, there were survivors. One of them was your mother, Kushina Uzumaki."
"Kushina..." Naruto whispered mother's name
"What was she like?" Naruto asked Hiruzen
"She was beautiful woman but she had a temper. She moved to Konoha at the age of 10 and enrolled into the Academy. She was made fun of by her red hair but she fought back and earned the name Red Hot-Blooded Habanero. It was that same year she met your father."
"Who was my father?"
"His name was Minato Namikaze. The Yondaime."
Naruto froze, his hands started shaking. He couldn't breathe properly. He dad was the Yondaime and he was the Demon of the Village. The Pariah. The Loser. The Deadlast. The Good For Nothing-.
"Why don't we talk about something else?" Hinata shifted gears, trying to change the topic
"Yes we should. Hinata, I wanna talk about you. Your Byakugan specifically. It seems there was been a mutation in your Byakugan, do you know what caused it?"
"Well um, I was low on chakra and I read that Sages use nature chakra to power themselves so I mixed nature chakra with mine and... that's it." Hinata said
"And what were the side effects?"
"Well I noticed I could see fully 360°, I can see nature chakra, and I can see natural tenketsu's now." Hinata listed off her new Byakugan abilities
"I see. And Sasuke, you've activated your Sharingan yes?"
"I have."
"Well Kakashi, you have quite the team here. I wish you luck." And with that, Hiruzen left
"Well it's been a long day. Hinata, your father called and he wants you home as soon as possible." Kakashi said
"O-Oh really? W-Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow guys." Hinata left
"Want me to walk you home Naruto?" Sasuke asked in concern
"Y-Yeah." Naruto nodded
Naruto and Sasuke walked out of the hospital and to Naruto's apartment. When they got there, the door was blown open with various words such as Demon on it. Naruto pushed the door open to see what happened to his apartment.
Everything was knocked over, shattered, broken, ripped, and destroyed. His walls were covered in graffiti with the words that said Monster Murderer Demon Loser and Kill Yourself and Die over and over again.
Sasuke looked back go Naruto, who looked like he was about to have a panic attack. Sasuke rushed to him and cupped his face with his hands.
"Hey Naruto, look at me. I'm right here." Sasuke said softly
Naruto looked up to Sasuke, his ocean blue eyes were filled with tears.
"How about you stay with me tonight, huh? Until your place is fixed." Sasuke asked Naruto
Naruto nodded, he couldn't use his voice properly.
Sasuke walked Naruto to the Uchiha district, Naruto kept clinging onto Sasuke's arm as he was received glares from the villages. Sasuke glared right back, activating his Sharingan for more effect. Nearly all the villagers stopped glaring and went back to their business.
They made it to the Uchiha district and Sasuke welcomed him to his home. He showed Naruto the room he could stay in and gave him some spare clothese to sleep in. He directed Naruto to the shower and started making dinner. Sasuke decided to make some ramen, which he knew was Naruto's favorite.
Naruto came into the kitchen, his hair was damp and he was wearing a loose t shirt and shorts. They both sat down at the table and at their ramen in quiet. It was so unusual for Sasuke to see Naruto so quiet. He had grow so used to his usual loudness that the quiet was uncomfortable for Sasuke. Sasuke also noticed how Naruto was eating his ramen slowly and in small bites.
When they were done eating, they said their goodbyes for the night and went to their rooms. Sasuke laid in bed, he couldn't sleep after the day he had. He couldn't stop thinking about Naruto, how much the news had effected him.
Suddenly, there was screaming in the room Naruto was in. Sasuke grabbed a kunai and rushed to his room. Sasuke opened the door to see Naruto having a nightmare, he kept begging for someone not to hurt him.
Sasuke set the kunai down and at next to Naruto. He tried to shake him away. "Naruto! Wake up, It's just a dream!"
Naruto woke up abruptly in a cold sweat, he looked at Sasuke with surprise. He raised his shaking hand to see if his was real. "S-Sasuke..."
Sasuke grabbed his hand gently and placed it onto his cheek. "Yes Naruto, I'm here."
Naruto blushed and turned away from Sasuke. Tears escaped him as he remembered the nightmare.
"Naruto, I heard you screaming. I was scared and it looked like you were having a nightmare, what was it about?" Sasuke asks gently
Naruto didn't say anything so Sasuke laid beside him and wrapped his arms around his body, pressing his chest against his back. Naruto blushed at the gesture but he still didn't say anything.
"You don't have to talk about it of you don't want to but know that I'm here for you." Sasuke said
Naruto turned around and wrapped his arms around Sasuke as well, it felt nice to be embrassed in such a loving way.
"I dreamt about the villagers. I hardly get nightmares about them anymore but when I have them, it feels so real." Naruto said
"What do the villagers do?" Sasuke asked
Naruto sniffled. "They... They hurt me, a lot. E-Especially the ones in the orphanage and on my birthday. T-They w-would beat me, cut me, break my bones. Sometimes they were trying to kill me."
Sasuke blood ran cold, why would the villagers want to kill Naruto?
"I have the Kyuubi sealed inside of me, that's why. Many of them think I AM the Kyuubi and they wanna avenge the deaths of their loved one by killing me or at least beat me badly." Naruto answered
"The Kyuubi?" Sasuke said
"Yes." Naruto looked up at Sasuke
"You must hate me now, right? You think I'm some kind of monster and that I should kill myself, right?" Naruto asked
Sasuke could sworn his heart stopped beating, the villagers told Naruto to kill himself?!
"That's why I wanna become Hokage, so no one will feel how I felt. So unloved and hated by all, I could never wish that upon someone. I know it's a stupid dream and I'll probably never make it because I'm so dumb and weak and useless and-" Naruto was cut off by Sasuke hugging him tightly
"Don't say that about yourself, please don't." Sasuke pleaded
Naruto was thrown back by the amount of care in his voice. "O-Ok I w-won't."
"Good, now promise me you'll never say anything bad about yourself ever again." Sasuke said
"I promise."
"Good, now go back to sleep. Have a good night." Sasuke tried to leave but Naruto grabbed his shirt
"Please don't go, I don't wanna be alone." Naruto asked in a small voice
Sasuke was shocked for a moment but then let out a small smile. "Sure, now scoot over."
Sasuke laid back down and wrapped his arms around Naruto, who in return wrapped his arms around his torso. Sasuke tucked Naruto under his chin as he rubbed Naruto back. Soon after, the two went to sleep. In each other's arms.
