Sakura woke up feeling a bit queasy, her stomach churning uncomfortably so she ran to the bathroom. As a doctor, she knew it wasn't uncommon for pregnant women to experience morning sickness, but she hadn't felt it in weeks, so she thought it was finally over.
Sasuke was immediately by her side, a look of concern etched on his face. "What's wrong?" he asked, placing a hand on her forehead to check for a fever.
"I'm just feeling a bit nauseous," Sakura replied, her voice shaky. "It's nothing serious."
Sasuke didn't look convinced. "We should go see a doctor," he said, his brow furrowed with worry.
"Sasuke, it's just morning sickness, I am a doctor," Sakura said with a reassuring smile. "I've been through this before. It'll pass."
Despite Sakura's reassurance, Sasuke was still concerned. He stayed by her side all day, bringing her water and snacks and checking on her frequently.
As the day wore on, Sakura started to feel better. Her stomach settled and the nausea faded away. Sasuke breathed a sigh of relief, his worry finally easing.
"I told you it was nothing serious," Sakura said with a smile.
"I know, but I can't help being worried," Sasuke replied, his hand resting on her belly. "I care about both of you so much."
Sakura reached up and placed a hand on his cheek. "I know you do," she said softly. "And I love you for it."
Sasuke leaned in and kissed her gently, his hand still resting on her stomach. "I love you too," he whispered.
As they lay there together, Sasuke felt a deep sense of gratitude for the two most important people in his life. He knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, as a family.
