Shikamaru

During the last ten years, Shikamaru has been searching for Neji relentlessly and has not been able to find anything. His heart ached for him and he longed to have him back in his life in his arms. He loved Neji and when he read that letter about why he left it broke him. Upon reading the letter, he discovered that Neji had left the night before because something would have happened to him and their family if he had not disappeared.

Even after all these years, Shikamaru still adores Neji. If he were to walk through that door right now, his gloomy days would be gone. Neji helped him stop thinking. He understood him when he lost control, something he did not like. When he did not want to show that side to anyone, Neji broke down his walls so that he could show him his worst.

When he told Neji, he was to be the future head of the Nara mafia. Neji reacted calmly and collected the news. He was not scared of Shikamaru; he was just worried. He showed him a different type of care that was unique and special. Neji was the one person Shikamaru could be himself around, the one that he could trust and rely on. He knew that no matter what Neji would always be there for him.

They became engaged after Shikamaru found out Neji was five months pregnant with twins. When Shikamaru discovered that Neji was pregnant, he was the happiest man in the world. He loved Neji and wanted to be with him forever. With open arms, his parents welcomed Neji into the family.

Shikamaru became furious just by looking at the documents on his desk.

Angry, Shikamaru banged his fist on the desk and yelled, "These documents don't explain how I can get Neji back!".

"Son, it's hard, but you must be strong. And before you look at me like I am crazy, I know you have been strong for the last ten years. To make him calm down, his mother whispered, "Maybe you should look at it from another angle.".

"What angle should I be inspecting it from?" He questioned, turning his attention to his mother.

What are you looking for and doing to locate him so far?"

"I have been looking for people named Neji, and so far I've only come up with his old school photos. Mostly things from the past," he groaned as he rubbed his hand down his face.

"I question how you are my child sometimes. It surprises me how you are so smart, and stupid as hell at the same time," Yoshino narrowed her eyes, smacking Shikamaru on the back of his head. Shikamaru groaned and rubbed the back of his head. "You know, I don't always have to choose between the two," he muttered. "Sometimes I can be both at the same time."

Glaring at his mother, Shikamaru yelled, "What the hell did you hit me for?"

" You know why I did that. How can you be so stupid? Did you believe that Neji would still walk around with his real identity?" raising her eyebrows while staring at him.

"No..." He said, furrowing his eyebrows together.

"EXACTLY, so why didn't you do facial recognition through the FBI database? You could have gotten Temari to hack it for you," walking around the office and waving her arms in the air.

Shikaku said, uncrossing his arms as he spoke, "See, son, you really should listen to your mom here," Shikaku remarked.

"OK, Dad, and thanks Mom for giving me that idea. I have been really out of it lately," Shikaku chuckled. "It's ok, we all have our moments. Just try to focus better, don't let your mind wander too much." He ruffled his son's hair and smiled.

Yoshino stood back smiling at her husband and son. She loved family moments like this. She knew that with her husband's support and her son's determination, he would be able to succeed no matter what. She hugged them both and reassured them that everything would be alright. Releasing the hug the couple stepped back from their son. Deciding it was time for them to leave they bid their son goodbye and walked out of the office.

After hearing what his Mom said, Shikamaru sat back in his chair and pulled out his phone to call Temari.

Temari: "Hey Shikamaru, what do you want?"

Shikamaru: "Hey I was calling because my Mom gave me an idea to find Neji."

Temari: "Tell me about it and I'll get on as soon as I'm in town."

Shikamaru: "OK, I want you to hack into the FBI database, do facial recognition, and see if you get anything."

Temari: "You want me to take old pictures of Neji and match them in the FBI database until I get someone that looks relatively like him?"

Shikamaru: "Yeah, that's right. Please do it as fast as you can. We don't have much time."

Temari: "Got it, I'll do it right away. When I'm back home I'm with Tenten and the kids. We just finished eating lunch."

Shikamaru: "Ok. It's good to hear you're enjoying your birthday." He said, playing with the ring on his finger.

Temari: "I can feel your stress through the phone man you need some sleep or something," her chuckle rang through the phone.

Shikamaru: "Shit, you would feel stress too if your partner has been missing for ten years, you don't know if they're still alive or not, and you have three kids that are constantly progressing through different life experiences," he sighed.

Temari: "I understand Kenta and Kimi are a handful by themselves, believe me."

Feeling his phone vibrate, Shikamaru pulled it away from his ear. Checking the caller ID.

Shikamaru: "I'll talk to you later Temari. The twin's school is calling."

Temari: "Ok I'll talk to you later," she said ending the call.

Sighing Shikamaru answered the phone.

Shikamaru: "Shikamaru Nara, what can I do for you today?"

Principal: Hello Mr. Nara this is Ms. Harrison. I was calling to talk to you about your daughter Sora.

Shikamaru: "What would you in particular be calling about this time?

Principal: "UHM Sir Sora got into a fight today and I was wondering if you would be able to come up to the school."

Shikamaru: "I can come to school, I'll be there in ten minutes," ending the call.
