With Naruto
With the Moon high in the night sky, it kind of feels like it's lighting up the path that has been given to me, Or rather I have been told to take. I know that I am still close to where I was being kept, but I also know I should be a safe distance away to be able to take a short break.
I stop and lean against the tree, watching it slowly frost up the long I touch it with my arm.
As I watch the frost climb up the tree, I notice how pretty I think it is. All my life I have been surrounded by four walls of hard stone, with nothing but a bed and a door to look at. When I was younger they would give me blank paper to draw on, but as I got older that turned into writing paper. The people in white would tell me to figure it out myself, some of the nicer people in white would give me a book on occasion, but that's as far as that would go. I may not know why I was there, but I do know after all this time that they wanted something from me. They had a goal for me and looking back it has to have something to do with what I am able to do now, right?
That's the only thing that makes sense.
Anyway, coming back out of my thoughts I can now see that what was once a thin layer of frost is slowly turning into ice. I quickly jumped away from the tree, remembering what I did to all those people in white.
‘Kit it wasn’t your fault. You couldn’t control the output of your new abilities, what happened to those people was a result of what they have been doing to you for years.’
When I hear the voice in my head I startle in surprise, can you imagine an unknown voice popping up out of no wear and just start talking to you?
I bet it would make up jump as well.
Anyway, let's continue.
“Who are you, I can hear you. But I don't see anyone around me.” I look around just to make extra sure.
‘You won't be able to see me Kit, and now isn't the time unfortunately to properly introduce myself. Look, you need to keep going Kit, you're still at least a week away from where you need to be.’
“And where is it I need to be, I don't know where I need to be. I don't know who you are or where I am. I’m scared and I don't know what to do or what I'm meant to be doing.
I'm just scared.”
‘I know Kit, I know this is hard for you. You can call me Kura for the time being, how's that?. It's a shortened version of my name, I won't tell you my full name now as there are things that need to be explained with it and we don't have time for that. You need to keep heading east Kit, your answers are there waiting for you.’
“Ok Kura, I guess you already know my name huh?. I'm also going to take a guess and say you were the one to tell me to take this staff? I have to thank you for that, I can just tell it's going to be fun, and the ice and snow don't feel out of control with it either. It feels so different from those four walls, being out in the open feels amazing.”
‘I know Kit, and yes I was the one to tell you to take the staff, I knew it would do you good. Now you really need to get going, kid. Otherwise the two separate groups looking for you will track you down.’
“Ok Kura I get it, not so many breaks and no taking in the views. Got it, ill keep going east. What is there anyway, you haven't actually told me?.”
‘There is something there that will help you Kit, I can tell you that. Unfortunately I'm not going to ruin the surprise for you, so you will just have to keep going and see what is there for yourself. I know its a long trip, but I will be with you every step of the way Kit. You're Not alone in this, I will try and guide you from where I am so that you avoid things that will cause you trouble. I am going to try and make this an easy trip, still enjoy the new things you see on the trip. It's a long one, and an unsafe one, but that still doesn't mean you can't have some fun. Just make sure to cover your tracks.’
With a grin on my face I take off, taking Kura’s words to heart. I don't want to be tracked down by whoever had me all this time, and whoever else is trying to track me down. The only thing I can do is keep going in the direction I have been given, feeling that listening to the only friendly voice I've heard, well ever. Well gotta keep going and get to this place Kura wants me to be at, i guess that's something to look forward to though. The surprise at the end of the run, so I've got to keep pushing forward, and that's exactly what I'll do.
With Minato
I can’t honestly say how I feel right at this moment, I know Sarutobi and Fugaku walked off to go look at something else. All I can do is clutch onto this photo of my little boy, the only proof at this current moment in time that he is still alive. Well along with all the test results and papers that were above the photo that I snatched.
I know I am still a complete wreck and that I probably shouldn’t be here after this but I can't leave now that I know I’m close. Trying to pull myself together I take a good look around the room, trying to see if I can see anything that the others have missed. Not seeing anything else around the room, I turn back to the board with all the papers and research. Looking through each and every individual one, hoping I will be able to find something that will be of some help. The papers stuck to this board look to have multiple underneath on thing keeping them where they are, to be honest they look like hanging stacks of paper.
With how this is layed out, and the fact that I only have time to skim the wording. I hear Sarutobi and Fugaku walk back into the room, and follow one of the other ninjas that managed to get the door open that was completely iced over. Hearing them talking slightly as I start to take the paper work off the board and into a sealing scroll I have with me. I'm doing this so I can go through all of it properly when I get back to the village. I know Sarutobi will want to send out a search team or two, and I don’t think with how my mind is that I will be of any use to those teams.
I'll be of more use going over these documents and letters revolving around the tests. I know what Sarutobi is going to say, but I need to do this. If I'm not in the mind to be out there actively looking for my son before the person who had him does, then I can find out what they wanted after all this time. To be able to find a way to protect him and keep him from going back to that place, or at least somewhere similar that we won't be able to find.
Coming back to reality I hear Sarutobi give the order that we are going to be leaving and heading back to the village in the next few minutes, so I quickly grab the rest of the papers off of the board and put them safely in the sealing scroll, and locking that back into my satchel bag I brought with me. Taking a breath, I look at the photo of my son that I still have clutched into my hand. I have a seal tattooed on my wrist, so wanting to keep this close, I safely put it into that seal. No one can touch it there and I will be able to keep it close for however long I want too.
Stepping away and heading towards the door to this room, carefully avoiding most of the ice that is still on the ground. Coming up to Sarutobi and Fugaku I notice the look on their faces and know there is something that I'm missing from this. Nodding to both of them to let them know that I'm ready to go, and that I know they want to tell me something when we get back to the village.
Stepping out into the hallway, i look back into the opposite direction, wondering what Sarutobi and Fugaku saw down there. Shaking my head I follow the others out the door, and see that those that know sealing jutsu are putting up barriers in an attempt to stop anyone else from going in. With that I take one last look at what was once thought to be only a little dip into a mountain, I take a breath and follow the others back to the village.
“Wherever you are Naruto I hope you are enjoying your Freedom from that place. Please make sure you are safe.”
