Visiting Uzushiogakure
Sorry for the delay with this chapter, I was very busy with school and haven’t had any time to write.
I have found some inconsistencies while re reading the previous chapters and have made changes to the letter Minato wrote for Naruto and a few things in the first chapter, please read them again to avoid confusion.
shapeshifter340: thank you for the review but unfortunately this is not something I can update very often as I am very busy with school and will update as and when I can but I will likely do 1 chapter every 10-12 days.
InsaneMakaioshin: It is a secret because only his family knows his full name, as of now everyone knows him as Naruto Yotsuki, the other names will be revealed later in the story.

Chapter 3 – Visiting Uzushiogakure
“H-How is that even possible? Questioned A wondering whether his eyes truly worked at all. Raizen and Bee were also just as shocked and didn’t know what to say. But then Bee in his typical fashion got up and started yelling, I mean rapping “Yo I always knew lil 9 was cool but he cool enough to make us all look like fools, ya fool.” (I am horrible at rhyming please just read what he says and ignore the rhymes.) “Shut up Bee” Yelled Raizen before pulling out another piece of chakra paper and said “Here Naruto do it again.” “Huh, why” asked Naruto, “Just do it” barked Raizen making Naruto shut up and listen. And just as last time the paper split into 5 halves, 1 which shredded itself to the point you could not see it with the naked eye, the second half was soaked thoroughly to the point of it having torn apart and dissolved, the third piece crumpled into a ball smaller than a thumb tack, the fourth piece having burned and turned to ash, while the final piece had crumpled into dirt and fallen onto the ground.
“What’s the big deal about that I am sure the same thing happens when you do it?” he asked his father. Raizen sighed and grabbed another one from the pile and channelled his chakra into it showing affinities to water, wind, and a very strong one to lightning. “Naruto at my age as a kage I am expected to have at least 3 affinities, but at your age I only had the lightning affinity which runs in the Yotsuki clan. But having all 5 and that too naturally is considered impossible and has never happened before, hell with this you could probably make a kekkai tota as well.” He exclaimed
“Woah his eyes grew, with his jaw dropping as he realised just how important that was, while he had not started training yet he understood how dangerous it was since he had heard a lot from his father on the 5 kages of the great nations, and the tsuchikage, Onoki of both Scales, and his dust release. But then he remembered something “HEY WAIT JUST ONE MINUTE WHAT ABOUT THE SANDAIME HOKAGE, CAN’T HE USE ALL NATURE RELEASES AS WELL?” he questioned loud enough to break A out of his stupor and reply. “Yes but he had to train to obtain the affinities unlike you who has them naturally. Everyone is born with one affinity and have to do nature manipulation training to gain affinities for them.”
He said much to Naruto’s shock “Wait does this mean that Tou-san cannot use fire or earth jutsu?” Raizen replied by saying, “No it just means that they are more difficult to use and take more chakra than someone who has that affinity, for example if Bee had a fire affinity, and we both learnt the same jutsu, he would learn it faster and it would take him less chakra to do it, it does not mean I would be unable to do, it would just be more difficult.”
“Oh ok I think I get it, but what is nature manipulation training?” he asked “So nature manipulation training includes specific training related to a specific element that makes it easier for you to use and manipulate. Using the same example as dad, Bee would get the jutsu faster, but if he had mastered his affinity through these exercises, it would make it 10 times easier.” A explained. “Oh alright then, I can’t wait until I have mastered all my affinities and can throw all kinds of jutsu around. I’ll be stronger than you all!” He exclaimed loudly. “Ha, yeah right, I can pummel you into the ground right now. A exclaimed loudly. “Yea yea of course you can after all… you need to fight 4 year olds right, only people you can beat?” Naruto teased back watching with satisfaction as the vein in A’s forehead bulged and his face turned red in anger, and then he ran away to go to sleep the exhaustion of the night once again catching up to him. Before he left Raizen did say thought that both A and Bee are taking him to find the libraries and speak to one of the blacksmiths. It has been a while since I have seen the blade of an Uzumaki, say what you will but Kiri only attacked them out of jealousy of their superior blades and blade skills. I would like to see such a blade once again.” He said remembering the last time he fought in the war and saw an Uzumaki blade. “goodnight everyone” Naruto said before running into his room and going to sleep.

The next day Naruto was woken up at 6 am by his brother who said “get a move on we have training to do, I will be teaching you the shadow clone first and then we will do chakra control exercises until we are back from the trip” barked A, startling Naruto who jumped out of bed at the loud noise and got up, looking annoyed at his brother before he mentioned training. He then jumped about getting ready and ran to go eat some breakfast.
A chuckled before going to see Naruto waiting for him at the back of the house where they had a small training ground. He was running around and punching the air. “Alright Naruto first thing we will do is put on these seals, I had Darui make them, they are weight seals. They have 50 levels with each level adding 5KG and you will be wearing them on each limb and around your chest, however the one on the chest goes till 500KG and increases by 10kg.”
“That sounds very very troublesome” said Naruto and somewhere in the leaf village an entire clan sneezed at the same time, waking them up and they found it very troublesome too.
“These are just the beginner weights, by the time you graduating I will be adding gravity seals on top of these so that they double the weight, they go up till level 15. I expect you to have maxed out all of them by then.” He said an evil grin on his face, which scared Naruto quite a bit. “H-how much weight do you wear?” Naruto asked, A just grinned like a madman and replied “I have 1000 kg on each limb and 2000kg on my chest, along with gravity seals on level 5. The only one who does more than me is dad, and he wears 1500kg on each limb and 3000kg on his chest with gravity seals on level 10.” By now Naruto was pale and shaking like a leaf. “But I only need to wear these while training right?” A smiled and chuckled even more, something that worried Naruto “Of course not, you have to wear them 24/7” he replied.
“Come Naruto, I will put them on and then you will learn the shadow clone jutsu so that while your clones are training you will be doing physical exercise until you fall over.” He said, he had read the scroll for the jutsu last night and knew he had seen others from the leaf village use it as well. He was going to ask Naruto if he could teach it to Bee and pops as well as himself to boost their training as well, while they could not make use of it the same as the Uzumaki, they too had big enough reserves to use it a bit to learn new jutsu or elemental manipulation while he did physical exercise.
“Yay” Naruto yelled happy to learn a jutsu his clan created. “Alright this jutsu only has one hand seal, here this one, now do the seal and let me fix any problems I see with it.” He said now sounding serious. “Ok A-nii” Naruto replied and then did the seal, and after A was done fixing the small issues it had such as placement, he told Naruto “now channel your chakra and imagine making a solid copy of yourself, make as little as you can then I will tell you how many to try and make.” He ordered “Ok nii-san.” And then all of a sudden there was a massive cloud of smoke and he could see 25 more Naruto’s now. A just shook his head wondering if his chakra control would ever be even half decent.
“Alright Naruto now make at least 100 more.” He said and in response Naruto made 25 extra without even knowing. “Alright I want all your clones to divide into groups of 50, I have 3 chakra control exercises for each of them.” “ok, you heard the man, hurry up.” Naruto said. A then tried his hand at making shadow clones and with his much better control was able to make only 3 like he wanted. “Each group is to go with one of my clones, they will tell you what to do.”
A barked out once again. “And in the meanwhile I will be here torturing- I mean training you.” A said with an evil grin remembering all the times Naruto had pranked him.
“Alright Naruto let’s start with a warmup. First do some stretching, then 50 laps around the compound, after that come back and do 150 push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, squats, burpees. After that we will work on flexibility and mobility. When we are finished with the workout, we will repeat it. This is going to happen every day now and as soon as I think it’s becoming easier I will increase the number” He said watching as with each exercise he named Naruto’s face got paler and paler until even Orochimaru would be jealous. And with a defeated expression that soon changed into determination he soon proved why the Uzumaki were known for their stamina as he started speeding off.
A just sat meditating waiting for him, using this as a chance to train his sensing ability so that he could track Naruto’s laps and make sure he was not cheating. And once again the Uzumaki stamina was showing when even at the age of 4 Naruto was able to do all 50 laps around the compound while barely slowing down for a few seconds to try and catch his breath. It seemed he would need to make it even more rigorous.
It took him well over an hour to do the laps, and afterwards he fell onto the ground groaning about how much he hated his elder brother. A simply told him to catch his breath, drink water and finish the rest of his exercises.
It was a testament to the famed Uzumaki stamina and endurance that Naruto was able to complete the exercises before lunch at which point A made him sit down and start meditating to increase his focus and concentration while his clones had been told to dispel in groups of 10 every 5 minutes to avoid knocking him out.
Once all the clones had been dispelled, Naruto was now able to use wall walking with barely any focus, and while he was capable of doing water walking, it still took up too much concentration to be effective, and the rock balancing exercise had turned into balancing small boulders until he was able to get more control and they would keep downsizing until he reached pebbles and was able to focus his chakra into a small spot with minimal waste instead of how it was now.
By the time they had gone back inside for lunch, he was truly exhausted and ready to collapse but A would not have that. After lunch A agreed that any more physical exercise would be detrimental for him, and he would spend the rest of the day studying things like human biology, strategy and geography, politics, chakra theory and elemental manipulation current affairs of the elemental nations and the names of all the top shinobi from other villages and other such things required for a shinobi and the son of a kage.
A had gathered almost a hundred books on various such topics that he was told to read. For a week he did this training in the morning with shadow clones of A, until lunch and then reading until dinner, after which he slept early and no matter what he did A would never let him take off the seals, instead he had increased the weight every other day and the weights were now all on level 3 totaling 90 kg extra.

A woke up Naruto saying, “wake up brat, today you, me & Bee are going to link both the Namikaze and Uzumaki libraries to the doors dad had set up in the week.” “Really, that’s awesome, I bet the libraries will be huge and filled with super cool jutsu I can use to blow things up!” he yelled out, looking wide awake suddenly. “Yeah, yeah now come on kid, we have to get going, I would rather we leave early in the morning before people start asking questions.” A said, looking annoyed. He and Darui were training so he could learn black lightning and Darui could learn the lightning armor. He was very annoyed at having to pause that training. But his father had insisted he take Naruto saying Bee was more likely to attract all kinds of attention onto himself and Naruto, and this was a covert mission with only himself and C going since C was one of the best sensors and would be able to help them remain undetected.
At least he didn’t get the memories of his rai-bunshin, having to get that many Naruto clones to sit down and listen to his explanation on chakra theory and then helping him learn it was not his forte, he just did not have the patience. With all the physical exercise Naruto was doing though, it made him drained enough to read all the books A had told him to. Bah he may be good at it, but that did not mean he liked reading those books or chakra theory either, he was better at fighting.

It had been almost 2 days since they had left, on a merchant boat under genjutsu. They were now at Nami no Kuni and were looking for the Uzumaki blacksmiths who survived to ferry them to Uzu, which was where both libraries were.
After renting an inn, Naruto had the brilliant idea to use his mother’s sword to try and find the blacksmiths since they would be able to tell an Uzumaki blade apart from regular blades without much difficulty.
It was this that led them to an old man named Tazuna, who was a popular builder living there and his friend, who was just as old as him but with muscles that Naruto thought he would only see on A. The builder was a local who was good friends with a few Uzumaki before the clan was destroyed while the blacksmith, was the head of the Muramasa clan, who had an agreement with the Uzumaki for protection and refuge in exchange for exclusive use of their swords.
Both were initially enraged at Naruto for even suggesting that he was an Uzumaki, but taking out his mother’s sword was enough for them not to be thrown out. Muramasa, took a seal made by the Uzumaki to make sure no one tricked them into forging blades for them by pretending to be an Uzumaki. Channeling chakra into it resulted in to 2 colours, green if they are Uzumaki and red if they are lying.
After the verification Muramasa started talking “You should know, if you have come here only to have a sword forged for you, it’s a waste of time the process required large amounts of chakra and blood, it was a rule and tradition to get the sword no before or no after your 6th birthday, any time before could result in it being possibly fatal. No Uzumaki was ever allowed to wield a sword before the age of 6, if you respect your traditions you will not use another sword of any kind before your 6th birthday.”
“Well then, disturbing forging methods aside. Let us get onto the secondary objective, the libraries, do you know where they are?” C asked “I know of the location for the Uzumaki library, even if I cannot access it. You however can young Naruto, I know of what your mother must have likely to you to do. It is immovable after all. You said libraries, however. What other library do you speak of?” Muramasa asked with narrowed eyes.
A coughed to get his attention “The library we speak of is Naruto’s father’s clan, I am trusting you as a survivor from Uzushiogakure, neither of you shall ever speak of this to anyone else, Naruto’s father, and the one to entrust him to me was Minato Namikaze. I am sure you understand now why the location of this library must remain quiet.” He said finishing with a look that dared either one of them to challenge him.
Both Muramasa and Tazuna were looking at the 3 with their jaws on the ground, looking on in shock. Until Muramasa started laughing like a madman. He was aware of the deal that the Namikaze had made with the Uzumaki to protect their library. “Why am I even surprised. Both clans had made an agreement they would share all knowledge they had on fuinjutsu and in exchange for a copy of all sword styles they come across, they will help set up a mobile remote access to the Namikaze and take care of it and set up defenses for the library to match their own library. I am sure that they must have been studying a lot more than fuinjutsu together.” He says with a wink, Leaving the other 3 adults laughing while Naruto just looked on confused.
“Anyways, Naruto here is quite excited to learn more about his parent’s clan’s and I would like you to come with us to the ruins of Uzu and help up locate anything you think we may need or anything that may be left over from the attack.” A says, looking at Muramasa hoping he agrees, he would like for Naruto to learn more about his clan, and he seemed perfect for this.
“Of course, as is my duty as a retainer of the Uzumaki clan, I will do my duty and make sure that young Naruto here lives up to the Uzumaki clan name, I will be coming back with you to Kumo if you do not mind. Our clan is only 6 members strong, and we currently have no purpose, we would be better served following Naruto and making sure we are around for the next generation of Uzumaki’s to follow tradition. Who knows maybe I can tell Naruto some stories of his grandparents as well. I knew them quite well.” He said watching as Naruto’s face turned to pure joy and hope.
A knew that at this point refusing was meaningless, he had gotten much more than he bargained for, and Naruto’s happiness was not something he would ever try to steal away. “We would be glad if you could accompany us as soon as we find someone reliable and discrete to ferry us over.” He said hoping the 2 knew someone.
“My son-in-law is perfect for this, he is a fisherman who fishes on that side of the shore anyways, his name is Kaiza, I’ll ask him to leave a few hours earlier so you can go without being seen. He can fish outside of the whirlpools surrounding the island, no one goes that far out of fear of the whirlpools anyway.” He finished looking at the others for their reaction.
“Well then we should get some rest-.” A was saying before he was cut off “What whirlpools?” Naruto asked. “You will see them tomorrow kid, there is a reason the island is called Uzushiogakure.” Said Muramasa.

“Hi there, are you 4 the people I was supposed to ferry around to Uzu?” questioned Kaiza, he wore a blue shirt and was relatively tall with a strong build and an x shape scar on his chin, he had black spiky hair.
“Yes, let’s leave quickly, I would rather not be spotted going there, it would attract too much attention.” A said looking around while Naruto, C & Muramasa followed him. “Alright let’s leave.” He said.

“Woah, those whirlpools are massive!” exclaimed Naruto “How are there so many?” he asked as he looked on in amazement, “How have they all remained active, whirlpools don’t remain active for so long, and the direction they are swirling are opposite to the one they are next to. A said looking on with narrow eyes wondering just how anyone would get past those whirlpools.
“That’s a part of the magic of the Uzumaki clan. To the best of my knowledge there are hidden seals that use nature chakra to make those whirlpools work, their location was a secret passed down directly from kage to kage.” Muramasa said with his face full of melancholy.
“How do you expect to get past these, my boat will certainly be destroyed?” Kaiza questioned worried for the safety of his only means to earning money for his family.
“Don’t worry child.” Said Muramasa. “Take us as close to the whirlpool as possible, only someone with Uzumaki blood can let us through. Naruto you must drop exactly 5 drops of blood into the whirlpool and then say this exact phrase ‘I full name, hereby grant passage for the next 24 hours to, full name of the people with you.” It is the only way for a non-Uzumaki to be let through. He explained looking serious.
“Pass me a kunai, A onii-san” Naruto said to A. “Here you go, but be careful” A urged looking worriedly at the blade. Naruto took it cut the tip of his pinkie and then let exactly 5 drops of blood fall before he brought his hand inside the boat after which he said “I Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze-Yotsuki, hereby grant passage for the next 24 hours to, A Yotsuki, Kaiza, Sakonji Muramasa & C Watanabe.”
“Now child, row forward it will be as though the whirlpools don’t exist. Muramasa said looking on with a forlorn expression as he finally journeyed back to his childhood home after a long time. “Remember this Naruto, the phrase is very important and so is the time you give someone access, should you not mention the time, they will have permanent access to the island as and when they please.”
After a surprisingly smooth journey across the whirlpools they had finally docked at the rundown port. “Alright I will be back by sunset, please be ready by then.”
As they walked through the streets, Muramasa was on the verge of having a break-down. He was walking by as he saw countless bodies of civilians, children, shinobi both friendly and enemy. The worst part was that he recognised so many of the corpses of both Uzumaki and Muramasa clans.
“It seems this will take longer than I thought.” He said. “Is it possible to stay an extra week and help conduct the funeral rites for the dead. It would be a disgrace to leave it like this.” Muramasa asked looking devastated as he stared at the dead bodies of the Uzumaki next to the massive seal and the Uzukage in the centre of the seal they had constructed that had sacrificed all of the souls on the island to the Shinigami. The seal was made of blood and big enough that not even 10 people could completely fill it.
“I have a list of things we need to do. First we will conduct funeral rites for all members of Uzushiogakure. Then we have to go gather the ore and other such material required for the sword that Naruto will wield in 2 years. And then we have to go to the library and Naruto must get the seals that link the Uzumaki and Namikaze libraries as well as the dragon contract he is to sign once he reaches the required level for a seal-master.” He started listing off in an emotionless tone, as though he could not comprehend all the emotions he was feeling and would rather just shut them off for now.
“What exactly do the Uzumaki funeral rites consist of? A asked with a grim expression.
“The Uzumaki rites consist of burning the body and the sword and placing the ashes in the crypt where dead Uzumaki lay since the founding of this village. The sword of each individual will also be burned along with them as they are a part of the soul and linked on a very spiritual level. Until the both are burned the soul will not be at rest. It is why I prioritize the funeral rites. For the Muramasa clan it is a simple burial.” He said looking completely different to the cheery old man that they had met the last night.
While all this was happening Naruto had already cried himself to sleep in A’s arms unable to see so many of his own family dead. “Very well then I was hoping to put it off to try and gather a few more trustworthy people who could help us but in this scenario it is not possible.” A then had a seemingly brilliant idea and said “Hey wait, what if we use clones, both Naruto and I are capable of creating a few hundred clones, which will definitely speed up the process.” He said with a satisfied smile having solved the problem.
“Although, how will we know which sword belongs to who, or even what their names are? C interrupted with a frown, causing Muramasa to jump having forgotten about him. “Do not worry about that, after the bonding process is complete, the sword will have the owner’s name on the metal, and it’s engraved on their sheaths as well as the inside of their headbands. We can find them easily enough.”
“Alright then let’s start, C go check on Naruto he can be there when we do the rites, but I don’t want him dragging bodies.” A said while looking at C. “I understand?” C said with a sad look in his eye, looking at all the bodies, some being children.
As the morning turned into evening, they had found around 2,000 bodies along with the swords, which would be sorted at a later date.
As they sat in the boat going back to Wave Naruto woke up. “Where are we?” he croaked his voice dry. “We are heading back to wave Naruto, tomorrow we will come back, we are working on gathering all your clansmen for a funeral. After that we will do what we came to.” A said in a comforting voice.
“While we gather the bodies you can go to the library, try reading up on the history of your clan, I am sure you will find a lot more here than is known to the outside world. You can be there during the funeral, but I will not be giving a 4 year old the task of carrying his dead family's bodies.” He said in a firm yet soft tone, making it known that this was non-negotiable. Naruto nodded his head and turned to face the island of Uzu. He was far too emotionally drained to argue against it in the first place.
