Chapter 1
“Don’t worry, you’re safe with us. Besides, worst comes to worst, we have a trump card waiting for us at our destination, and we can call him out if someone stronger than us comes along. After all, he’s the strongest.” Satoru tells Riko and Misato, attempting to assure them(mainly Riko) that they’ll be fine.
Misato raises an eyebrow. “Really? Who? Aren’t you two special grades? Who could be stronger than you are?”
Suguru grins. “His cousin, Naruto Gojo. Not only is his cursed technique the strongest one ever seen, a much more powerful mutation of Satoru’s Six Eyes, but he’s also a master of reverse cursed technique, something he taught himself despite his cursed technique having the ability to heal people via one of his shikigami.”
Misato gives him a look of disbelief. “A shikigami. That can heal. That doesn’t sound real.”
Satoru laughs. “But it is! He named it ‘The King Of Hell’ for some reason, no idea why. Also, even if you do end up dead, no worries! So long as he gets to you within 5 hours, he can simply bring you back via, you guessed it, The King Of Hell!”
“It does cost a shit ton of energy, cursed or otherwise, and if overused could actually end up killing him, though, so do try not to die if someone somehow gets passed us.” Suguru cuts in, lowering the mood.
“That sounds even less real.” Misato says with a deadpan, not believing a word that Satoru said.
“Tell them to double it.” Toji says after being given the offer.
“Seriously?” His middle man asks incredulously. “Do you have any idea how much money you’re asking for!?”
“I’m not an idiot, I know exactly how much I’m asking for. What I’m demanding is the minimum that I’ll be willing to risk an encounter with Naruto Gojo for. Damn brat is the strongest sorcerer alive, and one of, if not THE strongest sorcerer to EVER live. I can handle his cousin just fine so long as I have proper time to prepare for the fight, but Naruto? Hell no, I don’t stand a chance, he just has too many abilities that vary so wildly from each other that it’s almost impossible to plan out a fight with him and predict what he’ll do. His ‘Samsara Eyes’ cursed technique is bullshit of the highest order.”
The middle man sighs. “I’ll tell them, they probably won’t accept, though.”
“Suguru, is there a 60 million bounty on Riko’s head?”
Naruto’s eyes widen as he steps out of the hq building and sees a sword sticking out of Satoru’s torso.
Behind Satoru, Toji’s eyes narrow as he sees Naruto step out of the building. ‘Shit. He’s here.’
“Satoru! You need some help!?” Naruto yells, concerned for his cousin’s well-being after Toji pulls his sword out of Satoru and jumps back to make some distance.
“Nah, I’ll be fine!” Satoru responds. “He didn’t hit anything vital! Just focus on getting Riko to Lord Tengen, I’ll take care of him!”
Naruto nods. “Be careful, that’s Toji Zenin! He’s a master of Hand-to-Hand Combat and we don’t know what types of cursed tools he has!”
Satoru gives him a thumbs up before turning to Toji and using blue to throw him away and chasing after him.
“This is the furthest I can take you, Naruto will take you all the way to Lord Tengen himself.” Suguru says, Naruto nodding.
“Or, you can leave, go home with Kuroi, live your life to the fullest rather than being trapped down there, unable to leave, unable to see her or any of your friends ever again, with your only possible company being myself, very, very rarely. It’s your choice, unlike what they want us to do, we won’t force this upon you, and if need be, we’ll continue to protect you and your choice for as long as we live.” Naruto finishes Suguru’s statement for him, earning him a playful glare from the cursed spirit manipulator, and reaches a hand out to her.
Images of Riko’s life begin flashing through her mind. The good and the bad, the nice and the ugly. But most importantly, images of her and Misato, happy. Starting to tear up, she reaches out to take Naruto’s hand and give him her answer, before suddenly a bullet enters her head and she falls to the ground, dead.
Thinking fast, Naruto uses a simultaneous application of bansho ten’in and shinra tensei to send the shooter, an unharmed Toji, flying. Naruto and Suguru exchange glances before Naruto rushes outside, hoping to get to Satoru fast enough to save him, instinctively knowing that Toji making it to where they were meant that Satoru was either dead or dying.
“So, on the verge of death you finally figured it out, huh?” Naruto asks as he arrives to see Satoru beginning to stand up, already fully healed.
“Is Amanai dead?” Satoru asks, beginning to feel a high coming on due to the sudden rush of energy and power, and suppressing it.
“Yes, for now she is. And Toji has most likely already left with her body, seeing as I can no longer sense his cursed spirit and Suguru feels injured, most likely unconscious. You go hunt down Toji and get her body back so I can revive her, now that you finally know how to use reverse cursed technique, you should be able to use red and purple, meaning that you can beat him this time. I’ll heal Suguru and Kuroi, she’s dying but not quite dead yet.”
Satoru nods, before leaving to do as ordered and stopping suppressing his high.
Riko wakes up with a gasp, and is immediately engulfed in a hug by Misato, who is currently crying in relief and joy. After a few seconds, Riko responds in kind.
