The Third Great Shinobi War raged on, engulfing the ninja world in a maelstrom of chaos and conflict. Their team had been assigned to a mission deep within enemy territory, tasked with gathering crucial intelligence that could turn the tide of the war in the Hidden Leaf Village's favor. As they moved stealthily through the enemy's stronghold, tension hung in the air. Shisui, Y/n, and Asahi knew that this mission was different, more dangerous than any they had faced before. The enemy forces were numerous and well-prepared, and the risk of discovery was ever-present. As they crept through the darkened tunnels beneath the enemy fortress, Asahi's keen senses detected an approaching patrol. Without a word, he signaled to Shisui and Y/n the whereabouts of the enemies, and the three of them quickly covered in the shadows. The enemy ninjas passed dangerously close; their voices hushed but still audible. As the enemy patrol moved away, Asahi breathed a sigh of relief.
However, their relief was short-lived. Suddenly, the ground beneath them trembled, and the tunnel began to collapse. The enemy had set a trap, and their escape route was blocked. Shisui and Y/n were fast enough to escape the ground trap but it caught Asahi, leaving him immobile and stuck. “ASAHI!” Y/n`s scream echoed through the forest as she leaped to her teammate. The earth trap had Asahi in a tight grasp not only leaving no room for movement but also squeezing him tighter and tighter by the minute. while Shisui started to fight against the enemies Y/n activated her chakra blades Y/n tried to shatter the trap. A fruitless effort. Asahi was stuck and more force would only hurt him. “Y/n, Shisui, run away, leave me here.” Neither Shisui nor Y/n even thought about leaving their friend for a minute.
The enemy nin continued their attacks, Shisui successfully countering them with his Sharingan and his incredible speed. But one attack went through his defense right towards Asahi and Y/n. Y/n blocked the attack by using her blades as a shield and creating a chakra barrier between them and the attack. She could hear Asahi´s breathing get unrhythmic. He didn´t have long. “Y/n…. use your blades…. I don´t care… get me out of here.” She could hardly say no to this request. Raising the chakra flowing into the blades she sliced through the earth trap, also slicing into Asahi´s arm. A gruelling scream was heard but now Asahi was free, although wounded. Y/n held a squirming Asahi in her arms and tried to stop the bleeding with her hands. Completely focused on her task she didn´t sense an enemy nin approaching from behind, deadly sharp kunai ready to throw. She didn´t sense it, but Asahi did. He knew it was over for him. When he first got trapped he realised that he had gotten internal bleeding and would probably not make it back to Konoha. But he could do one last thing.
Asahi, always the quickest thinker, realized that their situation was dire. With a solemn determination in his eyes, they made a split-second decision. Using their own body as a shield, he intercepted a deadly attack aimed at Y/n, taking the blow that was meant for his friend. Time seemed to slow as Asahi fell to the ground, injured and gasping for breath. Shisui's and Y/n´s eyes widened in horror and grief as they watched their friend's sacrifice. It was a moment that would haunt them forever. Asahi managed a weak smile, blood staining their lips. "Shisui... Y/n.. thank you for being my friends." With those final words, Asahi's eyes closed, and the breathed his last breath. Shisui's heart ached with sorrow and rage. When Y/n looked up from Asahi´s head on her lap she looked into the Sharingan eyes she became accustomed to. But they had changed. In that moment of overwhelming grief, his Mangekyo Sharingan awakened. The world around Shisui transformed as he unleashed its devastating power, exacting vengeance upon the enemy forces that had taken his friend. As the battle raged on, Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan allowed him to turn the tide, defeating the enemy with a ferocity and strength that he had never possessed before. But the victory was bittersweet, as Asahi's sacrifice weighed heavily on his heart.
