Kakashi has a nightmare. Obito tries to confort him.
Note
Hi, I'm back ! I started to listen to Taylor Swift music recently and I fell in love with Safe and Sound. I don't know why, but I really wanted to write something about those two inspired by this song. It's quite short but I hope you enjoy it anyways !

He woke up in a jolt, startled by the incohesive movements of the man beside him. The latter was apparently in a dream. Well, not a dream, more likely to be a nightmare. He was clearly in a great deal of pain, his face was wincing and letting down a few sobs.
Obito's first impulse was to catch Kakashi's hand before it smacked his head again. He tightened his grip and entertwined their fingers.
He placed his body behind Kakashi's one, so he could contain his movements.

"Hey" Obito whispered calmly. "I've got you. I've got you."

He took him a moment to realise that he was also muttering words. No, not just random words, some were names. Obito didn't picked it up at first as they were pronunced so very low, but he managed to get "father", "my fault" and... his very own name.
Obito braced himself. The tone of true despair in Kakashi's voice cracked him open, it felt like a knife stabbed him right through his heart.
So, he anchored himself to his partner, hugging him so tight. He could feel Kakashi's heartbeat beneath his palm, drumming loudly.

"I'm here. It's okay, I've got you"

"You can't leave me, I need you. I don't want to be alone." Kakashi sobbed, the words leaving his mouth with difficulty.

"You're not. I am here, Kakashi. I'm here and I'll never let you go." Obito whispered in his partner's ear.

The white-haired man seemed to finally react to his voice. He turned around, facing Obito. Tears were streaming down his face slowly, and more were forming in his dark eye. His arms found their way around Obito's back and waist and he buried his face in his lover's torso. Protective, Obito pressed down a kiss into Kakashi's hair, tightening his grip.

"Do you want to talk about it ?" asked softly Obito.

"It's... it's nothing. Just the old stuff." replied Kakashi. "Nothing I never told you about."

"S'okay. We can just hug the life out of eachother. It's fine too."

He couldn't see it but he knew Kakashi was smiling faintly. He could feel it.

"You and I are safe and sound. We're okay."

Obito tried really hard to soothe Kakashi. He was well aware of all the shadows surrounding Kakashi since he was child. His father's death shattered him more than he let it seems when they were child. He never used to be the most outgoing person, but he closed himself since the incident. He was quite a jerk to be honest. But Obito figured out that's because he was afraid of letting anyone too close. If he created a bond, it meant he could lose it. And he didn't want to. So why even bother ?
And Kannabi bridge. This awful, dreadful, fateful mission. Obito still had flashes of it in his nightmares. He felt the heavy mass of the boulder crushing his right side. He couldn't breathe, blood in his mouth made him cough... He tries to never let his memories swallow him all up. To never live in the past. But fuck. He almost died there. He had felt himself dying.

He had to let the memories flow back to the deeps of his mind. He needed an anchor. He tightened his grip on Kakashi's shirt. He needed something to remember he was alive and ok and...

"Yeah." said finally Kakashi, kissing him softly on the lips, bringing him back to Earth, to their bed, to the warmth they shared. "We're safe now."
