Even though it was late at night, the T&I offices were extremely busy. After all, it wasn’t all that often that an Academy teacher convinces an Academy student to steal forbidden scrolls then attack another Academy teacher who became suspicious about the student’s behavior.
And, well, when the student in question this the Jinchuriki of Konoha…let’s just say a whole lot of people were going to be working very, very long shifts.
“We’re not getting overtime for this are we?”
“What’s overtime?”
“Never mind.”
The main door to T&I opened and in walked Anko Mitarashi. She said not a word as she walked to the door that led to the cells where prisoners were held.
“Mitarashi-san, you can’t go in there.”
Anko said not a word as she twisted the doorknob.
The door was locked.
Anko looked at the two T&I shinobi. “Unlock the door. Please.”
“I can’t let you in, Mitarashi-san.”
“Open. The. Door.”
“I’m sorry but…”
Anko glared the shinobi into stuttering silence. “Keys.”
“I’m sorry but…” The two shinobi found themselves in the coils of the largest snake they’d ever seen. And never, ever wanted to see again.
“Keys.”
“In my vest pocket!”
The tremendous snake obligingly moved its coils so that Anko could reach into the shinobi’s vest and remove the keys.
As Anko walked back to the door “Keep them here for a little while, Wagashi, but don’t eat them.”
The snake replied, “Very well, but you owe me for being nice.”
If Anko replied, the two shinobi didn’t hear her as the door closed behind her.
“If either one of you pee on me, I’m going to ignore her ordersss.”

Anko made her way through the cell block. She didn’t specifically know where Mizuki was being held but she could guess. All she had to do was to look for the cell that had the most recent seals on it. And considering what Mizuki had tried to do, the cell with new AND powerful seals.
And she found the cell she was looking for. Opening the viewing slot, she peered in to make sure this cell contained her target.
Anko smiled as the sight of the very bruised Mizuki.
She closed the slot and started to unlock the door, but a large hand clasped her wrist.
Anko looked up into the scarred face of Ibiki Morino.
“No, Anko.”
She gave Ibiki her best charming smile. “I just wanted to talk to him. A simple, little, talk.”
“No, Anko.”
She tried to yank her wrist from his grasp. “I want to talk to him!”
“No, Anko.”
She glared at the commanding officer of T&I. “Fine. I don’t want to talk to him. I want to slice his belly open, pull out his guts and set them on fire and laugh while he screams.”
“Anko…”
“HE PUT MY BEST FRIEND IN THE HOSPITAL. IRUKA! MY IRUKA!”
“I know. But you still can’t play with my food.”
Tears rolled down her face. “Please, Ibiki. I don’t have many friends. I need to protect the ones that I have.”
“Would Iruka want you to do what you just told me?”
A sob tore its way out of Anko’s throat. “No.”
Ibiki’s voice was gentle. “Go sit with Iruka, Anko. Let me question the traitor. And, if I’m not happy with his answers, I’ll let you come and amuse yourself.”
“Promise?”
“Pinky promise.”
Anko hooked her pinky through Ibiki’s as they spoke together “Pinky promise, whoever lies will be made to swallow a thousand senbon!”
Anko sniffled and wiped her nose on her sleeve. “I’ll go see Iruka now.”
“And I’m going to threat the traitor with you!”
Anzo laughed as she left Ibiki behind to go and bully help her friend to recovery.
