Naruto Hiden: Orange Maelstrom and Red Eyes

Lets start the story-

Two individuals are walking through a forest to their next destination. The first one is a tall and well-built man in adulthood (age 53, 6 feet 3 inches) with fair skin. He had waist-length; spiky white hair that he usually ties back into a ponytail, and two shoulder-length bangs framing his face. There were red lines under his eyes going all the way to the bottom of his face. He has wrinkles around the corners of his mouth and a wart on the left side of his nose. His attire consisted of a green short shirt kimono and matching pants, under which he wore mesh armor that is visible at his wrists and ankles. He also wore hand guards, a black belt, traditional Japanese wooden sandals, and a red haori with two yellow circles on each side. He wears a horned Hitai-ate with the kanji for "oil". This person is Jiraiya the Toad Sage; one of three legendary Shinobi called the Sannin, author of the Icha Icha series, and the self-proclaimed super pervert.

The second one is a 15-year-old boy at a height of 5 feet 5 inches. He has yellow-blond, spiky hair, blue eyes, and three whisker markings on his cheeks. He wears a somewhat form-fitting outfit with orange pants, and orange and black jacket. The jacket has a red spiral on the back. He also has on black open toed sandals, a shuriken/kunai holster on his right knee, and a Konoha Hitai-ate with a long black cloth. This person is Naruto Uzumaki the Jinchūriki of the Kyūbi. He is currently on the second year of his 3-year training trip in order to get stronger, though right now things are going a bit slow for his liking.

“Hey Pervy Sage we’ve been walking for awhile now, were are we going?” Naruto asks annoyed.

“We are going to meet someone at the Land of Hot Water.” Jiraiya tells the impatient blond.

“But we arrived here yesterday. How much longer do we have to walk?” Naruto complains.

“Just a little bit longer, be patient.” Jiraiya tells Naruto.

“It’s just with all the time we spent getting here we could’ve been training along the way.” Naruto says.

Jiraiya sighs. “We both know that we had to take it a bit easier after what happened during our last training bout.”

That makes Naruto be quiet remembering what had happened previously. It happened a few weeks ago when he was 14. Jiraiya decided to loosen the seal a bit to see how far he progressed and attempt to have better control of the Kyūbi’s Chakra. He was able to keep control of himself when his fox cloak has three tails, but when the forth tail manifested that was when the Kyūbi took control and he blacked out. As a result both he and Jiraiya got injured with Jiraiya getting a nasty scar on his chest. Needless to say his training got put on hold for a while to recover and even when they recovered enough Jiraiya needs to revise his training plan since controlling the Kyūbi’s Chakra is put on.

“We’re here.” Jiraiya says breaking Naruto out of his thoughts. The pair arrives at a port town, as they were walking Jiraiya lead Naruto to a restaurant where the client they would meet another person to assist in the mission.

The pair entered a secluded booth to find a young man (age 29) with featureless white eyes. He has brown hair, which he styles in a top-knot, and wears the standard Konoha-nin uniform, with a Konoha forehead protector on his head. He also has very prominent creases under his eyes. “Welcome Lord Jiraiya.” The man says.

Jiraiya smirks. “Hoheto Hyūga, It’s been a long time since we last met.”

“Indeed it has.” The now identified Hoheto says.

“So what is the situation? Tsunade wouldn’t give us a random mission during Naruto’s training.” Jiraiya asks.

“Our client will be here shortly to explain the details of this mission.” Hoheto tells the Toad Sage.

“I see.” Jiraiya says.

Thinking on Hoheto’s last name Naruto remembers something. “How are Neji and Hinata doing?” Naruto asks.

Hoheto smiles. “They are both doing well and have been sparing against each other to improve.”

“That's good to hear.” Naruto says as it has been awhile since he heard anything about his friends and knowing that the relatives are on good terms now. “Has anything changed in the village since we were gone?” Naruto asks.

“Lets see.” Hoheto thinks for a moment. “The Hokage Monument now has Lady Tsunade’s face on it and I believe that rest of the individuals you took the Chūnin Exams with are now Chūnin aside from Neji who is now a Jōnin.”

“That's great!” Naruto says, then a moment later his eyes widen. “Wait that means I’ve been left behind!” Naruto says realizing that out of everyone from the exams he is the only one who is still a Genin.

Then the door to the booth opens again and enters another person. This person is young man (age 17) at a height of 5 feet 7 inches. He has white skin, shoulder-length blond hair and green eyes. He is wearing a white T-shirt, dark blue jeans, and a green knee-length jacket with a fur-trimmed hood. “Good you are all here.” The individual says then looks at Naruto with a smirk. “It’s been awhile Naruto.”

Jiraiya and Hoheto raise an eyebrow at this wondering how this guy knows Naruto, while Naruto looks at him for a few moments before his eyes widen in realization. “No way, is that you Temujin!?” Naruto asks in surprise. He then goes to shake Temujin’s hand. “It’s good to see you again.” Naruto says.

“It’s good to see you again as well.” Temujin says.

“What’s been going on with you? Last time I saw you were on a boat traveling back to your home continent two years ago after the Stone of Gelel Incident.” Naruto asks.

“That’s why I’ve returned here.” Temujin says before turning to face Jiraiya and Hoheto. “As you just heard I’m from another continent, also I’m the client for the mission.”

“I’ve read up on that incident as well, it was quite a mission from what I heard.” Jiraiya says.

“So what are the details for this mission?” Hoheto asks.

“My home continent is war-torn or so I thought.” Temujin begins explaining. “But it turned out that war-torn area was only a part of the continent I was familiar with. In reality an empire runs my continent, which in the recent years is experiencing a recession due to corruption. As a result of this corruption the Revolutionary Army was born. After retuning to my continent I learned that Haido and his subordinates at the time were affiliated with The Empire and they wanted to use the Stone of Gelel to increase the power of their military to gain a massive edge over the Revolutionary army and hoping for a quick victory. After discovering this fact my comrades and I joined up with the Revolutionary Army to fight against The Empire, but we still don't have means to fight The Empire head on. So I decided to come back here to hire Konoha Shinobi and specifically Naruto for this mission.” Temujin finishes explaining.

“So that’s what’s going on.” Jiraiya says.

“How did this Revolutionary Army get the funds to hire Shinobi from another continent?” Hoheto asks.

“Fortunately Haido had a lot of funds, so we just used some of those funds to hire you.” Temujin says.

“Lets get going already!” Naruto begins to say. “Grandma Tsunade already gave us the mission, so lets go!”

“Wait Naruto.” Jiraiya says sternly before turning to Temujin. “Is there any other details you need to tell us for this mission?” He asks.

“There are more details that can be explained later on, but here are the two main things for right now.” Temujin begins talking. “The first is that we are traveling by boat, which will take us between 25 to 30 days to reach our destination.”

“Basically the time will take a month.” Hoheto begins to say. “Will everything really be alright by the time we all arrive?”

“Not to worry, the Revolutionary army is good at being patient.” Temujin says confidently. “Now the second and probably one of the most important things.” Temujin continues in a more serious tone. “That being that the people from my continent speak a different language then all of you, so that means I will have to teach you all my language before we arrive.”

“What the hell!!” Naruto nearly screams. “Is that enough time to learn a language? Is there a faster way to learn this language?” Naruto asks worried since he was never the best at studying; his record at the academy speaks for itself.

After hearing this Jiraiya got a though in his head that he previously didn’t consider until now. “I may have an idea on that Naruto, but I’ll tell you later.” Jiraiya tells his student and a few minutes later they exit the restaurant.

“So how do you two know each other?” Naruto asks Hoheto.

“I’ve known Lord Jiraiya since I was a Genin.” Hoheto says.

“So you were apart of Pervy Sage’s Genin team?” Naruto ask before getting hit in the head by Jiraiya.

“Unfortunately that’s not the case.” Hoheto says.

Naruto raises an eyebrow, but Jiraiya interrupts. “I know Hoheto looks kinda old, but he’s actually around Kakashi’s age.” Naruto is a bit surprised by this thinking that Hoheto was older then that.

“In case you were wondering I was once a Genin under Orochimaru’s command.” Hoheto admits.

Naruto’s eyes widen in shock at the reveal. “Orochimaru trained you!?”

“Sort of.” Hoheto begins to explain. “Orochimaru trained me initially in the basics of being a Shinobi, but as time passed I eventually learned more from my clan rather then him, due to me not being a good fit with more of his advanced lessons. Eventually he chose to focus on passing his skills down to my teammate Anko Mitarashi, who had shown more potential than my other teammate Nakamura.”

Naruto cringed a bit remembering the Kunoichi that cut face during the Chūnin exams and how she put him at Kunai point during the Kaima Capture Mission.

Now the group set out for the port and easily found the boat due to it being a large metallic boat “Is there anyone else who is included on this mission besides us?” Jiraiya asks.

“There is one more person.” Hoheto says.

“Who?” Naruto asks.

Suddenly a Kunai comes flying at Naruto and de deflects it. “Good reflexes kid.” A female voice says. The group turns to see a young woman of 5 feet 6 inches with a slender frame. She has light brown, pupil-less eyes and violet hair styled in a short, spiky, fanned-out ponytail. She’s wearing a custom-made outfit that is crafted of thin metal mesh to fit the lines of her body that covers her from neck to thigh, a tan overcoat with a purple in-seam and a pocket on each side, a dark orange mini-skirt, a dark blue belt, and pale grey shin guards. In addition to the typical Konoha forehead protector, she also wears a small pendant that looks like a snake fang.

“Anko Mitarashi.” Jiraiya says with a smirk knowing this will be a good team, while Naruto is screaming curses in his head.

“I see that your antics haven’t changed much Anko.” Hoheto says.

“And I see you’re still too serious.” Anko says back to her old teammate.

“As a Medical Ninja it’s my job to worry about our allies, or have you forgotten that?” Hoheto counters.

“To be fair it has been a long time since we went on a mission together.” Anko says nonchalantly.

“Why is she here?” Naruto asks Jiraiya.

“The reason I’m here for two reasons, to help with information gathering through means Jiraiya can’t or won’t do. The other is secret for now.” Anko says overhearing Naruto’s complaint.

After the group finally meets they get on the boat and begin to set off to Temujin's Continent. During the first few minutes Jiraiya tells Naruto to make a Shadow Clone to take it across the boat following Temujin leaving a confused Naruto with Anko and Hoheto. But this gives Naruto a thought that will help pass the time. “So, can you tell me what Kakashi-Sensei was like back when he was a Genin with you two?” Naruto asks Anko and Hoheto.

Hoheto was silent debating about it. Anko on the other hand... “Sure kid!” Anko says happily.

“Anko.” Hoheto warns Anko not liking the idea of gossiping about Kakashi.

“Hey there’s no harm in talking a little bit.” Anko counters before turning to Naruto. “I have to tell you that my team didn’t really interact much with Kakashi when we were Genin, so the information is just some basic stuff. I have interacted with Kakashi before during another aspect of being a Shinobi, but those interactions are classified, so I can’t talk to you about those things. Do you understand?” Anko asks.

“Yes.” Naruto says nodding his head.

“Okay then.” Anko says before continuing. “For starters your generation of Genin have it pretty easy so far in terms of what you are experiencing.” Naruto was about to interrupt, but Anko continues. “Sure you went through the invasion during the Chūnin Exams, but that was basically a skirmish level event. My generation with Kakashi and Hoheto grew up during the Third Shinobi World War. As in actually wartime, so it wasn’t fun and games considering we had to graduate from the academy younger then your generation.

“Really.” Naruto says surprised not knowing that.

“Yeah.” Anko says before continuing. “As for Kakashi he was a prodigy that graduated earlier then the rest of us. Due to this and his by the book personality at the time he was rotated along many teams until he got permanently placed with his team. Or to be more accurate he joined a team with Rin and Obito under Minato-Sensei.”

“What was his team like?” Naruto says very interested in this.

“Rin Nohara was their team’s Medical Ninja. Back then every team needed a Medical Ninja to increase the chances of a team’s survival. Kakashi’s team had Rin and my team had Hoheto.” Anko says pointing to her old teammate. “Anyway I didn’t know Rin that well other then she seemed to have a nice personality.”

“Wow. They never mentioned anything like this at the Academy.” Naruto says.

“Yeah the Academy is weird like that.” Anko says nonchalantly. “Now for Obito Uchiha he certainly left an impression.” Anko says with a smirk.

“Really?” Naruto says in surprise learning about another Uchiha.

“Yeah Obito was a real spaz.” Anko says with a laugh. “His skills were average at best, struggling to match his classmates from the Academy. Not to mention he was constantly late to everything.”

Naruto is in silent shock hearing this. Due to his interactions Sasuke and Itachi (Jiraiya explained a bit more about Itachi’s skills) Naruto assumed that the Uchiha Clan was filled with nothing but strong and talented people before they were all killed by Itachi. So hearing about Obito was certainly a surprise. “What about this Minato person?” Naruto asks wondering what kind of person trained a Genin Kakashi.

“Everyone in Konoha knows Minato Namikaze, though not always by name.” Anko smirks at Naruto’s confused face. “My generation knew Minato as a Sensei during the war. But your generation knows him under the title he was given some time afterwards, the Forth Hokage.”

Naruto’s jaw dropped at that revelation. Not knowing what to say next until Naruto remembered something Kakashi said during the Genin test. “But that means…” Naruto says before Anko interrupts.

“Looks like you figured it out.” Hoheto says getting in this conversation. “Kakashi is the only surviving member of his team, so lets leave it at that.”

Naruto was about to say something until a strange thought entered his head. “Why did Pervy Sage punch my clone in the face? Wait how did I even know that?” Naruto questions.

“That is the Shadow Clone’s memory feed back. Once it pops you gain its memories, hence why it’s good for reconnaissance.” Jiraiya explain returning to the group.

“Wait a second.” Naruto says as a certain question enters his mind. “Could we have used Shadow Clones for training all this time!?” Naruto asks.

“That’s what we will figure out. We will use the clones to see if it helps you learn a new language faster.” Jiraiya explains.

“As for your real body I’m going to help you by giving you immunity to poisons.” Anko then smirks.

Not liking that smirk Naruto can only think of one thing to describe this moment. ‘Shit.’

Temujin’s Continent
Aka The Empire

After a grueling month of physical (poison resistance) and mental (learning a new language) torture the ship arrives at the heart of Temujin's Continent aka The Capital at nighttime. The adults and Temujin decide let Naruto get familiar with a part of the city within a certain area so they can meet back up later. During this time he sees how some people suffering through the recession while others are not suffering as much, it was quite a comparison. He saw what looked like soldiers carrying many different kinds of weapons like swords and axes to an odd looking machine that Temujin called a gun which is something that doesn’t exist in the Elemental nations. He also saw 3 wanted posters with the names Najenda, Akame, and Bulat from a group called Night Raid realizing that these might be his new comrades in the future.

After exploring Naruto thinks its time to return back to his group until he smells blood and a lot of it. So Naruto hides in an ally to make a Shadow Clone and has the clone find his group while he goes toward the smell of blood through many trees. Naruto hides seeing three people two females with one male between them near some kind of shack.

The first female was worried looking sort of cute (in Naruto’s opinion), young girl. She had blonde, shoulder-length hair topped with a fluffy light blue accessory and blue eyes. She wore a white, long-sleeved shirt with a light blue ribbon on her neck. Above her shirt, she wore a sleeveless, light blue dress with a black bodice and white frills. She also wore a pair of white boots.

The second female he immediately identifies as Akame from the wanted posters. Akame is a pretty young girl of 5 feet 4 inches with long black hair that reaches down to her knees and red eyes. She wears a dark sleeveless top with a white collar and a red tie with a long dark coat over it; she wears a red belt that has a red side skirt cover over a black, pleated skirt. She wears it with long black socks and black shoes. She also wears red gauntlets and black gloves. She is also wielding a Katana with a red handle and guard.

The male is a young man of 5 feet 5 inches with green eyes and medium length brown hair with a cowlick that falls with its weight. He used to wear a white, high collar jacket over a tan sweater vest, a pair of black pants, brown gloves and combat boots. Naruto sees short-sized broadsword on the ground and assumes it belongs to the male.

Naruto sees Akame beginning to charge at the male who is waving his arms in protest. When Akame swings her sword towards a clash of metal is heard. Akame’s Katana is now in deadlock with Naruto’s Kunai who defends the brown haired male. “Don’t you think you should at least hear the guy out before you swinging that katana around?” Naruto asks. If Akame was surprised to see Naruto block her attack she certainly isn’t showing it.

“Hold on.” A new female voice makes herself known and she pulls Akame back. The new female is a young, curvaceous woman. She has long mid-back length blonde hair with two long tufts that frame the sides of her head and golden eyes. She wears a revealing outfit with a black tube top, detachable sleeves, pants, boots and a scarf around her neck. Also for some reason she has lion ears, tail and claws.

‘The heck?’ Naruto thinks as the blonde women’s appearance is quite unusual. Or to be more accurate it seems like the middle ground between being human and being an animal with the human side being a bit more dominate.

“What are you doing?” Akame asks with an almost comical looking blank face.

“We still have time, right?” The blonde woman begins to say. “I owe the brown haired young lad a favor. I figured I’d repay it back.” She says looking at the brown haired male with a wink.

It takes a moment for the brown haired male to recognize the blonde female. “You’re those boobs from earlier!” The brown haired male yells.

“Yep, the beautiful lady from that time!” She says excitedly waving her hand. The brown haired male is trembling in frustration while Naruto is observing this conversation seeing where it will lead. “Young lad.” The blonde woman suddenly sounds very serious. “You said something about killing the innocent, didn’t you?” She says walking towards the shack.

It was at this moment Naruto sees the blonde girl the brown haired boy was defending flinch. ‘She flinched.’ Naruto thinks realizing that things aren’t what they appear to be.

“Will you still be able to say the same thing after seeing this?” The blonde woman says before destroying the shack doors with a kick. “Take a good look. This is the Imperial Capital’s darkness.”

The group moves closer to see the inside of the shack. ““What the hell is this?!”” The brown haired male says in horror and Naruto yells in disgust seeing naked mutilated bodies all around the inside and torture devices. Even in his previous missions Naruto has never seen something this brutal before.

The blonde woman begins talking seriously again. “They lure unidentified people who come from the countryside with their sweet words and subject them to their hobby of torture and toy with them until they’re dead. That is the true nature of those of this household.”

After the brown haired male walks in the shack his eyes widen in shock/horror looking at a particular dead body, a young girl with long black hair that had a flower hair accessory. The body was covered in gashes and she is missing her right leg. “Sayo?” The brown haired male calls out. “ Hey, Sayo? Is that you Sayo?” He calls out trying to process what’s going on.

“So there was someone you knew.” The blonde women says while Naruto grips his fist in anger realizing that dead girl was likely the brown haired male’s friend. As this was going on the blonde girl tried to sneak away but the blonde woman quickly noticed this and quickly caught the girl by the back of her dress. “Hold on. You’re not getting off the hook by running away, little lady.” The blonde woman says.

“The people of this house did this?” The brown haired male asks in a subdued voice.

“That’s right.” The blonde haired woman confirms. “Since the guards were keeping quiet about it they were similarly guilty.”

“That’s a lie!” The panicked blonde girl says. “I didn’t know a place like this existed. Tatsumi are you going to believe me, the one that saved you or these guys!?”

‘So his name is Tatsumi.’ Naruto thinks glad he finally knows the male’s name.

“Tatsumi.” The now identified Tatsumi slowly turns his head to a weak sounding voice. “It’s you, right, Tatsumi? It’s me.”

‘Someone is still alive!?’ Naruto thinks in shock.

A still horrified Tatsumi now sees a heavily injured boy with short, somewhat-unruly dark brown hair, brown eyes and wore a blood covered white martial arts headband sticking his arm out of the cage he was trapped in.

“I-Ieyasu!?” Tatsumi says identifying his friend.

“That girl invited Sayo and me to her home and after we ate we lost consciousness. We were here when we woke up. That girl tortured Sayo to death!!” The identified Ieyasu yells while crying.

“What’s so wrong with that!?” The blonde girl says before escaping the blonde women’s hold by ripping of the part of the dress the woman held. “You’re all just worthless hicks from the countryside! The same as cattle! I should be free to treat them however I want! Besides that girl, even though she was just cattle her hair was straight and smooth! Even though I struggle with my unruly hair! That’s why I made sure she suffered as much as possible! In fact, she should be grateful I took such good care of her!” The girl screams her true demented nature revealed.

“What the actually fuck?” Naruto says out loud not believing what he is he hearing. ‘This girl really killed someone for such a stupid reason.’

“A family of sadists disguised as Good Samaritans. Sorry for getting in your way Akame.” The blonde woman says.

“Eliminate.” Akame says lifting her sword.

“Wait.” Tatsumi says after picking up his sword moving closer the deranged girl that killed his friend making everyone pay attention to him.

“Don't tell me, are you still trying to defend her?” The blonde woman asks.

“No. I’ll Kill her!” Tatsumi yells in anger slashing the deranged girl just a little above her stomach causing an arc of blood to appear killing the deranged nameless girl instantly. He then sheaths his sword.

“Hmmm.” The blonde woman sounds before thinking. ‘I know that he despised her now, but he killed her without hesitation.’ She thinks about Tatsumi before glancing at Naruto. ‘While that blonde guy was able to hold Akame’s Murasame back with a random weapon.’

‘Why did so much blood come from an attack like that?’ Naruto is no medical expert but he is pretty sure that much blood shouldn’t come from a wound like that.

Ieyasu starts to laugh a bit. “That’s Tatsumi for you. That felt great.” He says before coughing up blood.

This quickly grabs Tatsumi’s attention and runs towards his friend. Naruto quickly gets into action and forces the cage open with little difficulty while Tatsumi gets Ieyasu. “What’s wrong Ieyasu!?” Tatsumi asks.

“It’s the final stages of Lubora Disease.” Everyone turns to Akame who is speaking. “The mother of the house enjoyed drugging her victims and wrote about it in detail in her diary. He can’t be saved anymore.” She says shocking Tatsumi.

“Tatsumi.” Ieyasu begins saying getting the attention of his friend. “You know Sayo…she never submitted to that fucking bitch. Even to the very end, it was so cool. So Master Ieyasu has to have a cool end.” He says with a smile holding his fist to the upward with the last of his strength before dying.

‘Ieyasu was surviving on will power alone.’ Naruto thinks feeling bad for Tatsumi losing two friends.

“He was already in a state where he was staying alive by will alone.” Akame says aloud.

“What’s wrong with the Capital?” Tatsumi asks in frustration to no one in particular.

“Let’s go.” Akame says starting to leave.

“Hey, why don’t we bring these two lads back with us?” The blonde woman suggests.

“Huh?” Akame asks looking back at her comrade.

“Our hideout is always short-handed.” The blonde woman grabs both Naruto’s and Tatsumi’s shirt and dragging them. “Don’t you think that they have luck, courage, and skill as well?”

“What are you doing!? Let me go! I have to dig their graves!” Tatsumi yells struggling to and failing to get free.

“I’ll bring their bodies to our hideout later, so don’t worry!” The blonde woman tries to assure Tatsumi.

“What!?” Tatsumi yells in complaint.

“You don’t need to drag me you know.” Naruto says suddenly by Akame’s side getting everyone’s attention.

“How did you do that?” The blonde woman asks unsure how he escaped her grip.

“Not important right now.” Naruto begins to say. “What is important now is my name is Naruto Uzumaki and I’m pretty sure my mission is to help you out.”

Akame raises an eyebrow in confusion, the blonde woman is surprised, and Tatsumi has no idea what the hell is going on.

“Well the my name is Leone and lets go meet our comrades!” The now identified Leone says.

A few minutes later Naruto meets the comrades of Akame and Leone (who for some reason has short neck length hair and lost her lion parts).

“So they’re back.” A guy of 6 feet 3 inches in full white body armor says.

“It’d be bad if we don't retreat soon.” Says a young man of 5 feet 5 inches with shoulder-length green hair that covers his left eye, green eyes and red goggles on top of his head. He wore a long, green jacket with a fur-trimmed hood over a white and red ringer shirt and blue jeans with brown shoes. He was occasionally seen wearing a long, black coat. He is also wearing gloves with metallic fingertips with wire threads running through them.

“You’re late! What were you doing!?” Yells a young girl of 5 feet 1 inch. She has very long, pink hair tied in twin-tails on the right and left sides of her head, although, on occasion, it is worn down. She has big, pink eyes. She wears a pink outfit, consisting of a tied shawl with a high collar, a pink, long-sleeved shirt, a gown and black stockings with pink shoes. She has a gun strapped around her shoulder. “And who are they?” She asks seeing a blonde male next to Akame and Leone holding a brown haired male.

“Our new comrades.” Leone says happily.
