Healers!
Kyoko was looking around using her chakra to make sure the baby was doing well, "Okay Touka - chan, your little one is healthy and doing well."
Touka smiled, "That is a relief."
Kyoko, "Touka - chan, have you decided on a name?"
Touka, "Well if it is a girl, we were planning on naming her Tsukiko."
Kyoko, "That is a beautiful name."
Touka nodded, "If it is a boy then, we want to name him, Haruko."
Kyoko chuckled, "You have it all under control."
Touka gave a wry smile, "We try, I have woken up multiple times because of the kicks and need to go to the toilet. Honestly, the baby is not here yet and I already am very exhausted."
Kyoko, "Normal reactions, good, good, carry on."
Touka snorted, "My food intake has increased too."
Kyoko, "That is normal too.... I hope you are not doing any heavy training at the moment."
Touka, "Of course not. The last thing I need is to be hounded by not just the Aburame clan but also the Nara clan."
Kyoko chuckled nodding and wrote down some supplements that Touka could take without affecting her hive negatively. The older Aburame left after getting a promise from Kyoko to visit them at least once before the baby was born. Kyoko agreed then the older lady left making Kyoko release a breath, despite taking leave from her Kunoichi duties, was still capable of persuasion. Kyoko's nurse then called and ushered the next patient inside who was a pregnant civilian and Kyoko smiled welcomingly. When she realized Konoha did not have a separate maternity ward Kyoko was very flabbergasted and had complained about it to Sasuke and Naruto.
The two boys had not understood what the big deal was in the beginning but then again they were not even shinobi back then. Then one day they had to do an emergency assist and help one of the ladies who were giving birth. Kyoko took charge of the situation and barked orders at everyone which Naruto and Sasuke readily followed. Naruto with Hinata were tasked with helping the woman breathe steadily while Kyoko helped her give birth and Sasuke and Torune with making sure she did not bleed out. It was nerve wrecking for three hours and then they heard the baby cry loudly in Kyoko's arms after he was born. On that day Hinata, Torune, Naruto and Sasuke had somewhat understood why Kyoko was ranting a few days ago.
Sasuke had a new goal after that to completely reformat the entire hospital structure of Konoha which made Hinata and Torune sweat drop. He had become more and more passionate about it as time went by making more and more plans. Kyoko had been very impressed, she knew Sasuke was very smart but the plans for new buildings and the cost monetary breakdown was almost professional level. She had then encouraged him to read many books on the different hospitals around the fire country and even went as far as to sneak in information about the hospitals in other countries. Sasuke had eyed her worriedly when she got the information for him in the beginning and had told her to be careful.
Kyoko just nodded in agreement and then went to get him books on ledger and accounts to help him figure out the approximate and required cost. It had taken years, almost a decade for Sasuke to open the new branches of the hospital specialized for birth and child care aside from the civilian hospital. It was well worth it though, Kyoko decided looking at the number of couples and families who were there to get the services. Naruto and Kyoko along with Hinata and Torune had also made their own contribution studying the physical conditions of the different clans. The biggest study was the one between Shinobi and civilians physical differences.
While the shinobi had chakra to help them regulate their health, the civilian population did not have that advantage. Kyoko had fallen back on what Ryohei - nii had taught him about taking care of civilians who were not able to use flames. Those methods had been a big help with the civilians of this world but despite that Sasuke, Naruto and Kyoko had brainstormed many ideas to make it better. When Lady Tsunade had rejoined Konoha she had been surprised by the new construction going on and the fact it was a new hospital. Later on, she learned the hospital was geared to servicing the civilian side and the expecting families.
Kyoko, 'It was not easy but completely worth it.'
ANBU Cat appeared, "Godaime - sama has requested your presence."
Kyoko stood up, "Little Arasu -tan will be alright Nobi - san. Just make sure he does not stay in wet clothes after playing in the water or taking a bath."
Nobi a light brown haired woman nodded, "Thank you, Naiko - sama."
Kyoko sighed at the honorific but did not bother correcting it anymore, "I am heading to the Hokage tower."
Haruno Hasu, a dark pink haired nurse and her assistant nodded, "Understood Naiko - sama. Do not fret, we can handle it here."
Kyoko, "I leave it to you then."
Hasu watched as Kyoko left and turned to the other patients who were watching the healer leave with awe in their faces. Hasu still remembers the first time she heard about the brand new hospital that was being created and why it was being built. She had been very curious despite the doubts the Elders had about the new project, after all this village was a Shinobi village not a civilian one. However, it did not stop Hasu and a couple of other young civilian adults from attending the offered medical classes. Hasu herself had learned about the different types of medicines, it's different effects, time and people management.
She was not the only one studying those topics there were ten others who learned and from the ten candidates six of them cleared the exams held. She had been given the position of assistant nurse in the left wing which was run by Naiko - sama and three civilian Doctors. The three Doctors were a different matter, with Sasuke taking over their training and teaching them different healing methods without chakra in a strict manner. Hasu did not know they could perform any operation without the use of chakra, it was a strange concept but apparently it was not impossible according to Naiko - sama.
It had changed everything for them and Lady Tsunade was also very impressed by it and looked very relieved too. Hasu smiled as she greeted Doctor Su who was one of the female Doctors trained by Sasuke - sama. Doctor Su had a healthy amount of respect for Uchiha - san who put her and her fellow Doctors through hell training. But none of them would have it any other way especially with the hospital actually running smoothly. Then there was Naruto - sama who unlike Sasuke - sama and Naiko - sama was an angel from heaven. While Naiko - sama and Sasuke - sama forced them to study and practice like their life depended on it Naruto - sama was a gentle balm that encouraged them to take rest.
Hasu, 'They are definitely the next coming of the Sannin. No doubt about it.'
Kyoko, "Tsunade - sama, you called."
Tsunade, "Come in, Kyoko - chan."
Kyoko looked around to see ANBU Inu, "Another high ranking mission?"
Tsunade, "Yes, you will be joining the ANBU squad and heading to Sound."
Kyoko, "Sound? That is a surprise."
Tsunade sighed, "You will go as their Head Medic."
Kyoko nodded, "Very well, let me make sure the hospital is covered first. There are many clans expecting new births."
Tsunade smiled, "Indeed, I have to say creating a hospital geared towards child birth was a fabulous idea. It has reduced deaths due to child birth by a very significant amount."
Kyoko, "That was the original goal."
Tsunade, "Go get ready. You leave today."
Kyoko bowed and left to get things done by sending her clones off in different directions. Kyoko was hugging her mother, Yume who was now using a prosthetic leg like a boss and had become a full time secretary and guard the Hokage. Yume despite her new position, still worried about Kyoko, her only child but she knew Tachiba would keep her safe. After watching their daughter make her own path and become a very trusted and respected medic they had become more inspired to do their best. Yume focused on using her prosthetic leg to it's full capacity, turning it into a secret weapon holder to hold extra kunai and shuriken while learning to use it in a fight.
Tachiba on the other hand had decided to join the ANBU with the sole purpose of becoming Kyoko's shadow protector. Yume still recalls when their daughter found out about it, she had turned into a very adorable red tomato. She tried to hide it by hugging them but they could still see the red ears and the three of them had cuddled that night. Yume sighed in satisfaction, Kyoko was a miracle baby for them, the Doctors had told them having a child would be difficult and perhaps impossible. Then Yume had conceived a baby and there were a lot of worries and scares about the baby and her health.
After eight months and two weeks Kyoko was born healthy and without any problems. She was their miracle baby though she could be very strange from time to time, they still loved her with everything they had. Unfortunately, they did not have any more kids after her though Kyoko had mentioned she wanted a sibling. But it looked like she made many friends when she went outside to play in the park. First it was the twins, then the Uchiha child, followed by the Uzumaki and Hyuuga kids and many others. Yume was very happy and proud of her little girl, by making friends with others she indirectly brought the different clans together.
Kyoko, "Let's go."
ANBU Inu, "We will be moving non - stop."
Kyoko smirked, "Do not threaten me with a good time."
ANBU Sloth coughed, "Shall we?"
Kyoko, "I am ready."
ANBU Inu, "Let's go!"
The group consisting of three ANBU and one Head Medic left Konoha travelling through the country of Fire towards Sound. Sasuke monitored them all the way to Konoha's borders till he could not anymore and sighed as he went through the paper work in front of him. When he planned on creating the new branches, the last thing on his mind was becoming the Head Director of said hospital. Sasuke clenched his fist cursing his short sightedness on the matter, no wonder Kyoko was always advising him to be completely sure about his decision. But Sasuke does not regret it, among the three of them someone had to stay behind and hold their grounds and base together. His teammates may be healers too but unlike him both Koko - tan and Naru - chan had a bad habit of jumping into trouble. No matter what Koko - tan says, she was actually the worst out of the three of them.
Ino, "Ahem Sasuke - san, you free?"
Sasuke, "Come in, Ino - san. How can I help you?"
Ino took out a folder from the pile she was holding, "This case came in. One of the Head merchant's apprentices was poisoned. Luckily he is in a swift recovery but he suspects it was foul play."
Sasuke, "I see. I will have a look. Do you have a sample of the poison?"
Ino, "We managed to collect samples of the things he has consumed which includes water, fruits and the noodles he ordered."
Sasuke, "Hmm! Let's go to the lab. It will be faster."
Ino, "We suspect five people but we need more information and evidence before arresting them officially."
Sasuke, "That is understandable."
Ino, "Right now, they are in detention and being held back."
Sasuke and Ino walked into the lab located on the ground level outside the hospital. There were a few other Uchihas and Yamanakas who worked there and used the lab. Especially the Uchihas who were part of the police force and the Yamanakas who were part of T & I. It was a very interesting observation and watching them work together Sasuke half wondered if there would be an Uchiha and Yamanaka child one day. There was already a child between Aburame and Uchiha and he was very adorable with his large eyes. Of course there was the question of whether the child will train in the Uchiha arts or the Aburame arts but that was a question for the future.
Sasuke, "Give me the samples."
Ino passed the items to him, "Here!"
Sasuke used some of the equipment to test the samples, "Hmm... This is an animal based poison. How curious! I do not have this poison in my arsenal."
Ino, "So snake poison?"
Katsuyu piped in from Sasuke's collar, "No, it is not snake poison, nor slug poison, nor frog poison nor is it scorpion poison. If it was I would know. This is different."
Ino, "So, it is an animal from outside the country. Oh dear!"
Sasuke, "Have you confiscated their items?"
Ino, "Yes, it is part of the procedure."
Sasuke, "Let's go have a look. Such a rare and luxurious item. I have no doubt there will be a clue."
Ino nodded, 'An exotic animal. How very fascinating indeed!'
