Chapter 2

Sarato, with his innocent curiosity, asked, "When is Mommy coming back home, Daddy?"

Boruto ruffled his son's hair and replied, "Soon, buddy. She's just got some important work to finish up first."

Then, Sarato turned to look at Boruto, noticing the scar above his left eye. "Daddy, what happened to your left eye?" he asked, his tone curious but also concerned.

Boruto's expression darkened slightly as he thought back to the past. "That's a long story, little man," he said softly. "But let's just say that I had to sacrifice a lot to keep everyone safe. And part of that sacrifice was my eye." He ruffled Sarato's hair again and tried to lighten the mood. "Don't you worry about me, though. I'm still tough as nails, even with one eye!"

Sarato grinned up at his father, admiration shining in his eyes. "You're so cool, Daddy!" he exclaimed. "I want to grow up to be just like you, protecting everyone and being strong like you!"

Boruto felt a surge of pride and affection for his son, and he ruffled Sarato's hair again with an affectionate smile.

Sarato's eyes widened in excitement as he heard a door open, and he immediately ran towards it. "Mommy!" he cried out, his tiny arms outstretched towards his mother.

His mother, Sumire, smiled at her son's enthusiasm and scoops him up into her arms, showering him with kisses and hugs. "I missed you, my little bundle of joy," she said, nuzzling her nose against Sarato's cheeks.

Boruto watched the scene unfold with a smile, his heart swelling with love and contentment. He was so grateful to have his son and wife in his life, and he knew that he had made the right decision in giving up everything to protect them.

As Sumire put Sarato down and ruffled his hair, Boruto walked over to them and wrapped his arm around his wife's shoulders. "How was your work today, Class-Rep?" he asked, planting a kiss on her forehead.

Sumire chuckled at Boruto's teasing nickname for her and snuggled closer to him. "It was productive but exhausting," she replied, stifling a yawn. "But seeing your faces makes it all worth it."

Boruto planted another kiss on her forehead, unable to resist his wife's charm. "I'm glad we could make your day better, " he said in a mock-official voice.

Sarato watched his parents interact, his innocent eyes wide with fascination. He was still young, but he knew that his mom and dad were the best people in the world. He yawned, feeling the exhaustion from the day finally catching up to him.

"I'm sleepy," he said, rubbing his eyes with his tiny fists. "Can we go to bed, mommy and daddy?"

Sumire and Boruto looked down at their son with affection. "Of course, sweetie," Sumire said, scooping him up into her arms. "Let's go put you to bed."

Boruto followed closely behind, his arm still around his wife's shoulders. As they walked down the hallway towards Sarato's room, Boruto whispered in Sumire's ear, "You did great today, Class-Rep. I'm proud of you."
