Jiraiya
“Was there something?” Jiraiya inquires, leaning in towards Lady Shion.
The woman’s gaze trails off, a distance in her dark eyes. She remains silent. The sounds of the world outside the window take over the atmosphere. Before long, she breaks her silence.
“Few people know of this, much less all of Konoha,” she begins shyly. “But I knew Tobirama long before we were arranged to marry.”
Jiraiya’s face scrunches in an expression of confusion, feeling it was well implied that she had known the former Hokage prior to this event. It wasn’t as though she spent her time traveling before stopping into the village briefly only to be told she was set to be married.
“Well of course—you stated that the village had been established half a year before these events.”
Lady Shion shakes her head, a smile painting her once sharpened features. A soft laugh escapes her.
“No, Jiraiya. I mean to say that we knew one another long before the village was founded.”
