I am learning to be okay with endings
Your soft touch on my skin, the burn I felt afterward
The gifts you gave me, the big, old text messages
The fights, the love, the need
Of course, it hurt, of course, it still hurts
But how can I be mad if it's you?
If I ever meet you again I want to tell you:
I'm sorry.
I'll hold the love in your heart until the day that I die
For the cause of peace, in mine
Even if we never talk again, never meet again
I'll cherish our memories like flowers
Until they wilt, melt, disperse, die
And I'll pray that one day I will be able to grow them back
To see you again, and fix us again
But until then I am learning to be okay with endings
Since I'll never know how long
It will take us
To be one again.
(P.S. If you're reading this, I wish you luck in the future. I miss you.)
